An accurate description for these would be 70s-80s pop or rock instrumental beats, such as It's your Move by Diana Ross. So its not really Lofi, these two are different.

It is being used without their permission, and without compensation. Human musicians struggle to survive enough already, and this plagiarism just makes it harder for them to get financial support for their art. I would give ethical AI a chance, (art/music purchased from consenting artists/musicians who get some sort of cut every time their work is used as a piece of AI sound collages). But currently there is no ethical AI that runs without robbing thousands of people who put their blood, sweat, & tears into honing their craft. I'm not just talking about some people complaining that someone 'stole' their idea, I'm talking about the mass theft of Intellectual Property. This is a HUGE legal issue, but artists rarely have the means to take these huge AI companies to court! So they are unable to get legal compensation from the AI companies who stole their IP, and these huge companies rarely face consequences for their mass theft of Intellectual Property. To support AI is to support the unethical, illegal use of art & music for the profit of absurdly wealthy un-convicted felons who are already getting around the law by targeting vulnerable creators who can't fight back, and throwing their massive amounts of unethically obtained wealth around. But we, the people AI is being peddled to, can't SEE these struggling creators in front of us, so we ignore the harmful and illegal consequences of using these programs and furthering their wealth and power.

And about the idea of "stealing fans," that’s not really how music works. It’s not a competition where one person’s gain is another’s loss. The more variety we have, the more people get excited about music as a whole. If you’re creating something real and authentic, people are going to resonate with it. AI isn’t here to take away from that, it’s just another tool to make music more creative, diverse, and accessible. I say all this as a musician who really sees an advantage in all this, learning and creativity.
