Were you ever in a fight? Do you know this thing called adrenaline? He was 100% hurt (though no serious injury) but when the chance of that shot came he pulled himself together and went for it. There were MMA fighters who got hit in the liver and still knocked out their opponent and then immediately fell to ground from the pain
