The $16 pink guitar is for the little tiny people who live inside your television and perform everything you see. I don't know how they still do it on a flat screen, but they do. I know there are no little people inside my laptops because I have taken several of them apart to do repairs and put them back together again, and I found no little people in there. That's encouraging.
I bought a similar Glarry for my son as a beginner. After he'd been playing it over a year, I had it checked out and re-strung by my local guitar expert. After tightening some things electronically, working on the frets and correcting intonation, it's a pretty decent entry guitar. The pickups don't sound bad and it's pretty versatile in the types of music for which it sounds appropriate. Plus the "blocky" cut-aways gives it a very 80's metal look, and everyone knows that looks are almost as important as talent, so...
Hey I have that Glarry Burning Fire, it was my first guitar and its actually pretty solid for a beginner. I haven't touched it in ages because i just hung it up on my wall since I stopped using it but as a beginner it was cool. Only issue I had with it was the 9th fret buzzing but I didnt care too much at that time.
It really is. The listing title just screams "search engine optimization", and the $16 should be a big red flag. You'd have to have a massive dent in your skull to buy this thing genuinely expecting a decent playable instrument. Never expect a succulent steak for the price of a Happy Meal. Now, I'm not calling Elise dumb - it was a great grab for the video!
I was sent a Glarry bass for review. I agree with you: for the price, it's not at all bad. We've actually recorded with it. The last looks promising as well. For the others: what ware people expecting at that price?
She did? Ive never seen her play anything... only simple riffs and chords and doing a terrible job at it... Does she have a musical tallent that I just havnt seen yet?
I have bought four of those Fojill guitars. Got them for 79 dollars each and they are great mod machines. Actually stuck a 24 inch scale length neck on one and 24.75 on another and was able to intonate them. And the neck pickup is routed for a humbucker. Also, the wood is very light, good for me. 79 bucks for a light tele with rosewood fretboard and a bone nut? I think four stars is warranted. Not a refined guitar, by any means. But easily modifiable. Great video, Elise.
The shape on the guitar at @3:17 is based on ESP's F models like the LTD F50. The problems described in the reviews can all be solved with a proper setup, and a few replacement parts. The whole "second fret touching the string" thing is probably a mix of very low string action and a fret that wasn't properly leveled, adjusting action is very easy, but I'd recommend taking it to a luthier to level the fret because it's as job that requires a bit of experience, and the files used for this task aren't exactly cheap. Strap holders are cheap, Schaller's strap locks are very good and cost around 20USD. It's not a bad instrument, people just expect way too much from a cheap instrument, and at the end of the day, you get what you paid for. It's 80USD, could you get something better in the used market? Yes, Squier's affinity strats are great for beginners and you can find them on the used market for anywhere between 60 and 100USD. Could it be made into a good guitar? Absolutely. While I don't expect anyone to actually do this, it could serve as a mod platform. A Set of Gotoh Locking Tuners, replacement bridge from Gotoh, stainless steel frets, GraphTech nut, Seymour Duncan 59/JB set on bridge and neck, Seymour Duncan SSL1 on middle position, replacement pots, a new output jack and schaller strap locks. Then just do a full setup, and boom you got yourself a great guitar.
unfortunately these parts are very expensive. if you wanted to mod out a guitar this would be fine, but if you dont have the time, just get a nice guitar from schecter or esp or something. as for bridge, i think a tuneomatic or evertune bridge would be better, as well as a locking nut.
Hey, Elise! Just started with your channel a couple weeks ago, but ur songs r SOOOO GOOD!! You have an amazing talent and you deserve to be noticed by American Idol lol😂
I gave my 3 yo niece one of those blue non tuning guitars ( it was pink though ) and she loved it. She strummed until 5 when I got her a baritone ukulele and then more recently an acoustic. Her love of music came from that pink guitar and a cheap drum set, and then a cheap Casio keyboard. She now is learning and partially playing 5 instruments.
Good idea for a video. Now do a similar video with one star rated keyboards. You don't have to do it right now, you can have a snack first. But you have to do it immediately after your snack.
I also have a Fojill guitar (the one featured in the end) it's like the second one but in pink. The guitar is amazing and I think I paid $120 for it. Didnt come with an amp or anything so I know all the money went into the guitar itself. Great beginner guitar, Fojill is pretty decent.
All in all I would say all good bargains. But the pink guitar is the best for sure. But you did not text the most important thing, the smash ability. Which guitar can be smashed to pieces on stage the best?
Those $90 Tele’s are fun to mod and upgrade. I’ve picked up 3 of them. Tex-mex pups, vintage fender pups, and EMGs with an added battery compartment. Swap the pickups, actually ground the bridge, and replace the bad strings they ship with then you’ve got a decent guitar. Swap out the bridge and tuners and then you’ve gotten a guitar that sounds far better than it should.
Bro i remember before when i was a really young kid i had a plastic toy ukelele and i thought it was a guitar and then i brought it into school for show and tell and the whole class were telling me it was a ukelele😭
Could be worse. As a really young kid, I had a little acoustic guitar like the black-and-blue one in this vid. It was just as awful as the one in this vid, and it made me think that *_I_* was the awful one for not being able to coax any good sound out of it. Might've even singlehandedly killed my childhood aspirations of being a musician.
1.Tom plays mint green Fender in Blink 182 All The Small Things Video (I thought it was a tele like yours but it's a strat.) 2.Tell Bryan to use the neck pickup because the bridge pickup sounds really harsh through that tiny amp. 3. Never buy a "guitar" that doesn't have machine heads 4. You are gorgeous, sweet, entertaining and funny.
3:47 I like the looks of that guitar, but needs setting up. The nut slots are cut too high on these cheap guitars so there is room for adjustment. Problem is that probably the frets aren't level as well, so if you start lowering nut & saddle slots, you run into fretbuzz problems. So take it to a guy who can set it up properly. and don't mess around with an unplayable guitar. Even if you carefully tune that guitar, at the nut and probably higher up the fretboard, it will sound like sht
Awesome video, Elise! I have a glarry strat, I can't afford anything better but it's an alright guitar, plus I named it "Tara Chick-fil-A"😂 Problem is, I haven't practiced guitar in 4 months which I'm not happy about😭
I had my heart set on a Strat, but was eyeing them in the local shop but prices left me dreaming. I have my mom's old classical but was having a hard time pushing myself to pick it up and actually learn. EVEN when I told myself I needed to learn to justify the purchase of the cheapest Squire Strat in my local shop. I was eyeing $50-$80 Amazon guitars because after talking with other guitarist in a FB group I had come to the conclusion that I might enjoy learning on a electric guitar. I started asking around in the group about the few I liked but stated I wanted a Strat because it would be like my dad's, he passed away when I was 15 and I was trying to teach myself how to play off a poster on his Strat before my brother took it. They pointed me to a $100 Squire and then I found a package for $200 for everything I would need to get started. I have had my Squire Strat going on a week today and have only taken one day off playing because I had a nasty head cold.
