*Note 1:* The sample box for "Kanon for Orchestra and Tape" is no longer accurate, as the sample in question has been disproven. *Note 2:* This guide was a little rushed due to poor time management; lots of last minute changes. So there are a couple, sometimes humorous mistakes. However I took special care to ensure that all information relating to the samples is 100% accurate as of the uploading of this video.
Robins and Roses (unreversed lyrics): Robins and roses And maybe a tree A few morning glories A cottage two stories high Robins and roses And your love for me To live on forever And my love to never die A place where neighbors may drop in And smile when they see An armchair to flop in We can add to their glee serving afternoon tea Mid robins and roses And then life will be A poem by Kipling While troubles go rippling by
"Its all forgotten now" AKA Track 10 is my favorite track throughout the entire album besides the tragic track before the last one. it gives me heavy Everywhere At The End Of Time Stage 1 vibes and the reverb hits so different.
minor correction: in _on the edge of breakdown_ the phrase "as he was wont" is rendered incorrectly as "as he was won't". wont means "as per tradition". besides that, outstanding guide. was very informative and the visual effects are interesting and done masterfully.
I caught this mistake recently too. I was pretty tired during the final revisions of this video, so a few silly mistakes slipped through into the final product. I'm glad you found the video enjoyable, though!
01 sounds like it could be in an empty bliss beyond this world (Possibly replacing spots with mental caverns without sunshine) 02 sounds like it could be on the late F side of stage 3. Likely replacing F6. 03 sounds like it could've been an alternate terminal lucidity.
3:00 so either Track2, Cloudy or Kanon were used for EATEOT-G1L1 when C2 discusses with D5 10:40 no sunshine? 19:20 AHHH ZOMBIES1!1!!1 (also candidate of G1L1) 26:15 inverted theme 36:00 bro… this is rabies 39:00 EATEOT R1S3 flashbacks This album feels like some transition from EATEOT stage 3 to stage 4, or from stage 2 to stage 3. My favourite track here is "all forgotten now", thought XD
I won't be doing any EATEOT or EAEB guides, as I feel my contributions to them would be negligible. I'm making guides for The Caretakers older albums as I feel they deserve the same love and attention as his newer ones.
Is this what afterlife sounds like? Happiness but also sadness that you will never go back? Edit: anyways beside my bullshit comment this album is amazing, better than smfthb.

Kanon is no longer Canon
27:51 Just seeing Al Bowlly’s face looking straight at you with his music slowed down make this really unsettling and eerie…

14 is beautiful
Wow this is a super cool video
Thanks
Great sample guide! I love this album.
Also, I'd argue that we cannot escape the past is the best opener in the caretakers discography but yeha

One of my favorite caretaker albums

still can’t even come close to hearing song of sunshine in co-signed to a yesterday.
The start of "We cannot escape the past" sounds like the start of F5 fsr
That's true

Not every Caretaker album is part of EATEOT 😭
This is the second album to have atmospheres as a sample in all leyland kirby albums
Malign forces of the occult sound like I think I'm vanishing at some parts
Your works are perfect bro
If you put the lyrics of each clarity sample
In the stage 4-6 guides
So it will be a wonder

15:18 I would've never guessed that this was was masquerade ball but I can kinda hear it😯

the cover for cloudy's sample is wrong
Nuh uh. It's the cover for the 1923-1936 segment of "The Golden Age Of British Dance Bands," which features Cloudy.
