Just found you and going through your videos! Super helpful and straight to the point. Would love to see longer videos, especially one that goes over the PM tools you love to use. 🙌🏿
Thanks for your question, if I am hired for a role and I haven't used a particular software someone from the team will run through it with me. I often explain in freelance interviews that I am a quick learner and I also share the different softwares I have used and explain how I used most of them without having prior use, which has been a good way to illustrate that I am a quick learner. If a company likes your experience they are likely to hire you and just take you through their software, this is usually done on the first day as a freelancer. You are required to pick this up pretty quickly, so I write notes on everything they say so I have my own step by step guide
Hi Natasha, I love and appreciate what you do here. Please, how can one start as a PM from the scratch? Keenly, I want to get into P. Management, how do I start? where can I get the education and certification needed to get on. Thanks a lot. I’ll appreciate an aide from you.
Hey there, thanks for your kind comment. I have just shared this comment with someone who asked a similar question, so hope this helps.. I would say look at the current experience you have in previous jobs or any volunteer work that involve you helping to deliver something of value. You may not have led but you may have assisted in the process, this is still valid experience. Update and tailor your CV to reflect the key skills of a project manager. You may need to start off in a similar role such as project coordinator, project assistant or account manager etc I began my journey in Events then went into account management before diving into project management, essentially I was able to utilise my experience in both sectors to get into project management, so you can definitely do the same. In terms of courses, check out Udemy they have a load of courses there. I am currently in the process of creating a course for PM beginners, so if you're interested download my free guidebook here for freelancers freelanceguidebook.info/ and I will keep your email and share updates when the course is ready.
