This brings back memories of when I arrived in Korea as a US Soldier in August of 2004. Four hours on this train from Seoul to Waegwan (near Daegu). It was hot and uncomfortable. The jetlag didn't help. Needless to say, I tried to take the KTX after that (even at added personal expense) And I loved being stationed in Korea, It was a great time in a great country
First heard of the Mugungwa second class express trains in the 1980s watching a documentary about music and culture in Korea, presented by a Scottish percussionist named Evelyn Glenning. She rode an overbooked train powered by the export or built in Korea under license version of an EMD SD40-2. The car with the bench seats may be in each consist for passengers who didn't book ahead but waited til actual departure to get their tickets.
KTX trains are basically the French TGV train technology transfered to South Korea... As a matter of fact at the very beginning of KTX service French engineers were on hand to train South Korean train crews
I may be there in the next year and after seeing this I will probably opt for the more expensive train, if I need to travel by train. Thank you for your sacrifice. jk
I presume that's the budget option compared with the high speed service. Once again though it seems a pity that they're clearly trying to push people onto the high speed train at the expense of the alternatives
I did like your train ride at South Korea and now I can't wait for your videos on my my favorite train which is number one the bullet train ohh yeah I can't wait to see the videos of the bullet train. Let's ride ride the bullet train

You're visiting my happy place!
It’s such a beautiful country! And there’s a ton more content coming, including a look at Korail’s brand new high speed EMUs.
That was a pretty cool video! South Korea is definitely a country I hope to visit one day.
I would love to see him take the Amtrak from L.A to Fairbanks Alaska. What an amazing trip
I was gonna sleep but i swear one more video wont hurt
True
Lol
In was in Korea when this opened, it's a nice ride.
You got a bad luck. Those cabins are some of the oldest among mugunghwa still active. If what I found is right, those cabins are introduced at 1997.
