Did The Master of Masters & Xehanort ALSO Abuse THE POWER OF WAKING? | Kingdom Hearts Theory

The Power of Waking was such a major focus in Kingdom Hearts 3 that I doubt we have heard the last of it. Sora was sent over to Quadratum due to an abuse of the power of waking, so what does that say about the likes of Xehanort and The Master of Masters who knew about Quadratum?

***There is a bug in the video that makes it run an extra 90 seconds, this is in the process of being edited out, thanks for your patience*
With the amount of emphasis on the Power of Waking, and with the abuse of said Power leading us to Quadratum, I figure its possible somebody other than Sora has gone down this road before.

The master used the power of waking on steliza and xanort used it on the master which gave him the ability to jump between. The master used it again on xanort.

Whether he abused it or not, Yozora definitely has the power of waking. In KH3, Young Xehanort describes the power of waking as being the ability to traverse hearts to reach worlds. This is consistent with the way we first see it used in Dream Drop Distance when RIku uses to wake Sora. If you recall, Riku dives down onto Sora's station of awakening (his heart) and after defeating Ventus' suit of armour, he is transported to Destiny Islands (a world). Before Sora and Yozora fight, the exact same thing happens: after Yozora points his crossbow at Sora, Sora's station of awakening (his heart) appears from underneath them, and then Quadratum (a world) appears around them. Yozora blatantly has the power of waking.

This could also tie in to The Nameless Star if she’s connected to him (I don’t entirely think so but it’s likely.)
Maybe Yozora used the power of waking to save her or something and that’s why he lost his form. The same thing happened to Sora now that he’s in Quadratum and looks different. The Nameless Star also lost her form so perhaps she also did, or was punished for being an accomplice to whatever he did.

I believe The Master appears to Xehanort like the way Sora appears to Terra Xehanort in Re: Mind to protect Lingering Will. I specifically think Xehanort was going to pass away in that Dark Corridor because he didn't have the Coat. The Master appears, saves Xehanort, and then shapes his Fate by asking for a "favor".
This means the Master is jumping into his own Timeline to make his script work. The Master giving Xehanort his Role in exchange for the Master saving his life.
Luxu does something similar with Brain. Luxu saves his life. Brain becomes a vessel.

I just realized my other theory applies to Bragi. It is possible Baldr's Darkness would have actually been able to kill Bragi if Luxu wasn't wearing him. So by "Bragi" making the deal with Hades to make it look like he died, he saved Bragi's body and prevented Darkness from killing him. Luxu gets to prevent Baldr/ Darkness from winning, and Bragi keeps living. More Role contracts.

I think an important distinction to make is the one between the Power of Waking and a Taboo of Nature. Abusing the Power is a Taboo, but that may not be all that a Taboo entails. Take the Master for instance. While he almost definitely has the Power, he could've committed a Taboo of Nature in another way. Like, just spitballing an example, creating a metaphysical vessel to view into and alter the future to his liking.
I think a Taboo of Nature is just committing any act that goes directly against the laws of nature, like altering history/Destiny. I think Xehanort manages to skirt by through a combination of bending the preexisting rules (Heartless, Nobodies, and the original person rejoining) and the Master's own tampering with the timeline for Xehanort to work around. Sora's Taboo came by misusing the Power of Waking, once to save the world, and once again to save Kairi. My question is, why was Sora zucc'ed to Unreality after specifically saving Kairi?

    • @Fragmentsinfractals488
      @Fragmentsinfractals488 Год назад +1

I think it is because the first two times Sora did it, Sora went back to just before he passed, and he didn't change his movements. Namine is one who cause the change with Lingering Will.
When Sora saves Kairi, he ends up in several places he wasn't before (out in the field with Lingering Will and Terra Xehanort, In Scala before his past self gets there.) Basically, there are two of him running around in things that have already happened. The Future version is rewriting reality, so Future Sora was "always there". So now Destiny has an Extra Sora in part of it. A Paradoxical Character to remove.

      @Fragmentsinfractals488 Год назад

I also think this is how Xehanort makes his Stable time loops because Ansem, Seeker of Darkness cannot meet himself until Apprentice Xehanort creates him. So how did Ansem, SOD meet Young Xehanort the first time? Simple, Ansem SOD is just a Heart without a physical presence. A Heart in a Coat. Ansem, SOD went into the past and Rewrote Reality so it was "always the case" that Ansem talked to Young Xehanort and he gave himself time travel powers, becoming a Singularity. (like Sora)
Because Xehanort "paid the price" by losing his body, and becoming a thing that could go to the Final World, he can then pass that kind of knowledge free of charge.
      He became Unchained from Reality.

I think for sure the master used that power cos he said he'd vanish so I think it's him, and maybe Xehanort learnt about him vanishing somehow and that's how he learnt about the ultimate price and also unreality. Xehanort might also abuse it but when did he do it because he's been here the entire time it seems. Even in Dark Road it didn't show him abusing the power of waking. I'm sure he'll be back and probably in Quadratum, but I wonder if its though breaking nature or if it'll just be similar to how Strelitzia is there or something. Great video anyway, it has me thinking!

I don't think that MoM faded when he steps out from his students lives at the beginning of Chi. If only because I think that the Black Coat Figure that is leading the White Coat Figure is in fact MoM leading a Data Strelitzia. And seeing as both MoM and a version of Strelitzia seem to be in Unreality I don't see why I would be wrong with this thought process.
That said I am not against the idea of MoM choosing to abuse the Power of Waking at some point and ending up in Unreality. Most likely before he got back and thought the foretellers. I wouldn't even be surprised if that is how he knew about Unreality in the first place. And forever afterward could just go there and back no need to abuse the Power of Waking. I could also see him not doing it himself but watching someone else abuse the Power of Waking. And maybe even have that person come back and tell him about it.
As for Xehanort, well that would explain how Xehanort knew about Unreality. The real question is when would it happen?
It is true that Xehanort has to know that Ark Pods can sometimes take someone to Unreality. Ark Pods also destroy the world they are used on to the point that it's old name is forgotten. The Land of Departure sounds like the time of a world that has been destroyed because of an Ark. However if so then I don't think it happens in Xehanort's life time. It is far more likely that it happens in ML and Xehanort just hears about it either from someone that gets back or through a book.
It does make some degree of sense for Xehanort to abuse the Power of Waking at some point in his life the problem is only when.
There is an odd thing in DR. There are two scenes placing flowers on the gravestones. One at the end of DR a few months after the events. Xehanort and Eraqus are sad but overall dealing with what has happened. The other is at the end of chapter one of DR set four years after the events. Xehanort is depressed and Eraqus thinks he is blaming himself for something. In the scenes in the years between the two events,
One year Xehanort meets MoM. I do wonder if they actually meet the second time in the same year. Because the context clues of the second meeting seem to point at it being a few years afterward. However DR says they take place the same year. Which doesn't make sense but it is what DR says
Two years after Xehanort has the chest match with Eraqus, he already knows about the lost masters, both boys seem happy, and there is no sign of blame or depression.
Four years later Xehanort is depressed and placing flowers again, and there is talk of blame. Xehanort is taking a tour of the worlds before the mark of mastery exam. (something must of happened between the chest game and this scene)
If I could place the second meeting with MoM where I thought it fit best it would be here, when Xehanort was doing a world tour, when the mark of mastery exam is not far off, and when Xehanort has the most in common with the Young Xehanort of KH3. Which does seem to happen before this second meeting because of the line "like I am meant to wear it(black coat)" which sounds like a hint of etched timeline. However I can't even though I really want too.
Six years after, Xehanort has his Mark of Mastery Exam. Likely getting the No Name. That is two years where he could have maybe abused the power of Waking and come back home without Eraqus noticing him missing. If indeed Eraqus didn't know about it.
Seven years later, Xehanort and Eraqus have their big fight. Xehanort's eyes are still silver. Do we know what this argument is about?
Then we have a very big gap in time as 47 year past which we know nothing about. Xehanort goes back to Eraqus and they have their big fight where Xehanort completely overpowers Eraqus and scares his eye and face. Xehanort's eyes have become golden.
I do think it is possible that golden eyes could mean abuse of the Power of Waking. After all there is that trailer for KHMOM with Sora at the end of it, in black and white, or reverse coloring don't remember which. However when you turn it back into normal coloring Sora suddenly has golden eyes. However I would admit that is kind of weak reasoning using something that isn't in game and thus not canon.
So yeah having put all that out I think there are three points in Xehanort's life where he could have abused the Power of Waking.
Once between the chest game seen in KH3 and the Gravestone flower scene four years after DR. Something clear does happen then as Xehanort is depressed afterward. Erqus would know if Xehanort faded and came back within that time.
Once during the two years before the Mark of Mastery exam. It is a bit of a tight fit for Xehanort to go on a world tour, abuse the Power of Waking, fix it so that he can go back. However Eraqus wouldn't know so long as Xehanort comes back on time. However the timing gets even tighter if my theory about this being when KH3 happens is also true.
And once somewhere in the 47 year gap. The eyes might be a clue, or might not. If there where ever time for Xehanort to fade and then save himself this would be the time. Eraqus would defiantly not know.
So yeah, I could see either character abusing the Power of Waking however I don't really agree with when with MoM, and think that the most likely when with Xehanort is in the 47 year gap. Even though I have no idea why he would be abusing the Power of Waking then.

  • @xlak983

It never occured to me until now that the MOM or Xehanort also could have used the Power of Waking wrong to their advantage. How else could he know for a certainty about Quadratum? If that's the case, then there is a way to bring Sora back too.
However, I think it'll be at the end of this new saga. Sora may have to time travel too, or maybe the penalties are that Sora can't due to the penalties of misusing the PoW. Sora wlll need to find a way "never before used" from the other side if he wants to make his way home. I'm sure that he'll need to develop some power that would take him to the final world and then.... IDK a mixture of Yen Sid (Mr. Useless), the fairy Godmother, the 3 fairies, and every single Keyblade Master will be able to do something. Maybe piece Sora back together by a combination of fighting a dark fake Sora and finding missing memories of him or something twisted like that.

I haven't watched this just yet, but I have assumed these two abused the PoW since vanilla KH3 and suspected such in KH3d (the true KH3). MoM being a heart stored within a cloak was my suspicion prior to the abusing PoW terminology gave me a clear mechanism that he might know in advance that he would "disappear"

Also the "Unchained State" is something that I have assumed is a synonym to "The cost of Abusing the Power of Waking." To be unbound from time itself, having burnt away the connections of your personal Chain of Memories to the World's Chain of Memories, that is my assumption for what the "cost of abusing the PoW" means
