I use “original” loosely. There’s a reason why it’s modded haha. You should’ve seen how it was (not even playable) before I got it. Missing parts and all. As you can see even the finishing was taken off which I did not do. It’s still barely hanging on
@bananalabs I love beat up guitars . My main instrument is a no name partscaster tele jazz hybrid. Redundant jack socket filled with superglued coins to help balance 🤣
I just want to say thank you for taking inspiration from some of my favorite artists (cloakroom, whirr, and now title fight). This sound brings me back to my college years in 2014-2017. It reminds me that I’m a millennial but provides with me so many memories. I’m thrilled you’re making this kind of content!
@@jessesk8777 I’m convinced they’re one of those rare bands who can’t release a bad song. Kinda like Keep and Skywave where no matter what song comes on there isn’t any reason you’d wanna change it
hey banana labs, idk if you'll have time for this but, i saw a cover a shoegaze of radiohead's creep on youtube and it felt very surreal. you think you could make a simple tutorial on how he achieved the instrumentals and the vocal mixings of it? the creator's display name is just the letter "N". i'd really appreciate if you could see this and i'll always support your channel!
Ok I just heard it right now. Sounds really cool. It also sounds like they took the vocals from the original and slowed it down. It says “cover” so I’m assuming they played the instruments but just sampled the vocals. Interesting take. I’m not sure what they did in their version but it’s got me wanting to do my own Shoegaze version haha. Thank you so much for your support, by the way!
@@bananalabs thanks for getting back to me. I have been doing a bunch of research...Trying to make tunes similar to what you're doing. I was thinking about getting a twin reverb...seems like it would handle pedals pretty nicely. Do you like your hotrod? Would you suggest getting something more lowkey than a twin?
Awesome video! Do you use acoustic treatment in your recording space? Just curious cause I wanna start recording and don’t wanna buy a bunch of bass traps and what not if it’s not necessary
Thank you, Nick! I appreciate the support. To be honest it’s not properly acoustically treated at all. I just recently put moving blankets and curtains behind the drums and got some panels (pack) from amazon and put those above the drums. Once I have the funds I want to add more panels.
@ cool yeah, it sounds great! I’ve read varying opinions online, I think you can get amazing results with minimal treatment..cause honestly most bedroom recording rooms aren’t that perfect rectangle shape with the right thickness of walls etc..that pro studios have lol so we have to work with what we have. 🤷🏻♂️
not sure i got title fight from this outside of the structure tbh (i think the guys have a secret sauce no one can touch) but dude you're killing it regardless! been watching these videos crop up on my feed for a few weeks and subscribed this morning, big fan of the real amps and glad to see another fuzz-obsessor making content! would love to see your take on Life In A Jar-era Superheaven!
Of course! Every artist has their own secret sauce and special feel. These videos aren’t about figuring that out. All of my videos are more about coming up with one’s own approach to writing music inspired by their favorite artists. It’s always going to sound different from every one’s perspective and that’s the best part about creating art/music. It’s never the same as the original inspiration. Thanks for subscribing and for the support! Means a lot! And yes I’ve been listening to Superheaven lately and have seen the suggestions. Gonna see what I can do!
@ Yeah for sure! I love videos like this and your content is honestly ridiculously good! I really like the way you approach the songs and now hearing your figurative approach it's validating why your content is so sick. Hell yeah dude, I'll keep an ear out!!
4:04 Fuzzimp grit and texture
🖤💪🏻😤
Came for the shoegaze, stayed for the drum faces
Haha Yeahhh!🥴🥁
Possibly the best vocals you’ve ever done. That was pure bliss
Wow!! Thank you so much! I always appreciate your support. 🙏🏻🥹
Would love to see you tackle a more upbeat style by them, but this is absolutely dope brother!
Will consider! Thanks for the support!
Belvedere or a wilhelm scream
You’ve done trauma ray, narrowhead and title fight, time for a superheaven vid? 👀👀
Yes I was just listening to them the other day to see what I can do 😅 Stay posted!
@@bananalabs You just gotta yell
@matthathaway5015 Damn…😧 That’s where I’m limited.. Maybe I should start having guest vocalists 🤔
@@matthathaway5015, actually, it's not yelling. It's just holding your throat muscles tighter and compressing your voice further.
@@SamBrockmann I know haha I was just joking
Can you make a tutorial on vocals? You always hit the spot with these
Yeah I can do something like that in the near future. Thanks for the suggestion and for the support!

This is also giving some awesome Nothing vibes loving this so much dude
I’ve gotten a few comments about some songs of mine giving Nothing vibes. I’m gonna have to do a Nothing video now🤷🏻♂️
Your music production skills are insane, I would pay for lessons
Thank you so much! I share my mixing and post production process on my Patreon if you’re ever interested in seeing that sort of exclusive content.

@@bananalabs just out of curiosity, what tuning did you use on your guitar for this video?
Very cool video man! i love your stuff because you teach me new chords and patterns every video.. keep it up dude!
I’m glad you’re enjoying it, man! 🤘🏻 Thanks for the support!
You should try for a Deafheaven inspired song. Maybe not with screaming vocals. But emphasize those blackgaze riffs.
I gotta check them out. I was also thinking for future vids to have guest vocalists for songs that are out of my vocal reach. Just a thought though.
@@bananalabs , for sure, man.
That guitar tone is so killer dude
Thank you, Brotha!
Fantastic video and your playings spot on as usual. Ever considered a video in the style of Airs or Life on Venus?
Life on venus is rad
Also blankenberge
Also trementina

Nice! Also, It would be great if you make a shoegaze track using VST guitar pedals and ampsims!

Yes, drop C#!
