This is so much better than the actual Present Tense. Thom may be the band's frontman, but Jonny seems to be the most compositionally talented of them, by *far*. Listening to this almost felt as hauntingly sublime as hearing some of Bach's darker works.
People are getting confused, this is from the movie Norwegian Wood OST (a Japanese movie based on the haruki murakami novel), waaaaay before Thom played present tense at Latitude

Thom played this as "The Present Tense" (Latitude 2009) solo so before the release of the film the song was formed, at least as well as this, with the lyrics and guitar fully arranged. Considering how well they play it together they must have worked really closely on the song as a whole. This is hauntingly beautiful! Thanks
I think naming this "Present Tense" is imprecise. Chances are that Thom Yorke took this beautiful piece as an inspiration to write "Present Tense". Don´t you think? Or am i missing something?

the thing that makes radiohead so great is that they have 2 of the biggest musical geniuses alive: thom and jonny. Personally I think Jonny is the real secret weapon, that man lives and breathes music. But thom is a genius too
Well, this is super interesting. Basically the song Present Tense is a smash of all 3 parts of this sequence. Pretty good, I knew the song from the Latitude video as it wasn't formally put out before that on any Radiohead stuff. Jonny's pretty weird/cool. Loved his insane score for TWBB. Say what you will but for all the arse kissing, Radiohead is always going to be the sum of their parts, regardless of how great any of the people in it are by themselves. I think thom's ego/input seemed to bring that band to an end which is too bad as when they all have input into a song= best band on the planet. When they are just playing what Thom creates- they're still ok, but not Great and they really aren't Radiohead. I thought MSP was very bits and pieces just to get rid of them. I consider the last RH album to really be In Rainbows. Even half of TKOL felt like it was just thom doing a solo album with his band playing in it. RH should just permanently disband- they've made enough Amazing Material- but they should do 1 more album, 1 where all of the members have an equal say in what is made. I don't much care for The Smile- 1st albums alright, the 2nd was a hot mess- songs with 3 distinctly different tones smashed together? It was weird and not much enjoyable. Anywho, this is a great sequence like I said- thanks.
