Yes, in this clip David Bologna plays Michael (the flamboyant friend) and David Alvarez plays Billy. I've seen all 4 Billys but haven't seen David Bologna as Michael yet. =( I really hope he keeps doing the role for a while so I can catch him but I promise anyone reading this who hasn't seen the show yet, you will be blown away no matter who you see in the various roles. They are all brilliant!!! --Sean

This kid is really good. I put him just under Zach (who is freaken killer) but like this is a kid I would put for a Tony. He is that good. One preference some might have for him is that his accent isn't as thick so some of the lines are easier to hear and get the immediate reaction from foreign listeners who might not be as accustomed to the strong exaggerations of someone like Zach. The real guttural speaking is easy for me, but it's different for sure.

Oooh yes, when I saw it in the West End I noticed a lot of people trained in the North East. The accents really are on point, I would know since I live in that area. 😹
I wish there was a fund for fans like us...I'm in the same boat altho i just find ways to go now and then...can u find a relative who will take you? there is a student rush policy where your student id gets you and someone else with u in for a great discount
Georgia--- The boy playing Billy is David Alvarez, one of the Tony-winning original Broadway Billys. Far from being mistakenly cast, he is, by far the best kid I've ever seen in the role. I have seen clips of many, many performances, and David outdoes them all. I am lucky enough to have a bootleg copy of one of his full performances, and I can tell you that his acting --- and particularly his dancing is nothing short of superb! In this clip we are lucky enough to see both the best Michael (David Bologna) and the best Billy (David Alvarez). It is a real shame that these performances are lost to all except a few lucky ones (like me) who were able to obtain unauthorized recordings of the performances. Incidentally, I was also lucky enough to obtain bootleg copies of performances of the other two original Broadway Billys, (Kiril Kulish, and Trent Kowalik) both of whom were truly outstanding!
