I partied with Essence in the 80's and 90's my favorite spot was The Howard Theater! I remember not having a way home till buses started running in the morning...Lol and didn't care, Go Go was life back then...
We was from Md. Leaving the Howard was an adventure. We had to walk down Florida Ave to get to 8th and H to catch the bus to Capitol Heights. No buses were running Saturday morning at that time in Md. so we walked Central Ave all the way home. Would do it all over again
Lol I wasn't that bold... We'd bullshit in the 24 hour Giant on 7th and P st for a minute and some of my drunk buddies would walk around the corner with girls that later on I found out was DUDES !!! LOL... After i got on the K12 at Potomac Ave i never did that again... Made sure if i went i had a ride back... 80's was the days...
