If i were strapped for cash and couldn't afford a wr450sm (which is still reliable but needs more maintenance with them light weight parts and extra power wearing them out) The DRZ is a old farm bike frame and motor thats so reliable its been used for how long now? So i cant talk bad about them, but a little diet and power would make it a better selling point. Even just a slightly more aggressive cam profile for the SM versions that will sit a little higher in the rev range road riding, making the bike a little more fun in the top end. Motards need to be stupid fun on the street, otherwise whats the point? Might as well ride a scooter haha Hence why i ride a TE300i SM which have to be road legal, compliant plaint and reg here in AUS
I agree. And also I'm not sure if it even has 6 gears or not yet, but that would make it A LITTLE more worth it IMO. But I stand on supermotos not having all them fancy features and such. Keep it simple.
@@SumoWil thats why i like the 450 SMs (and my 300) No rider aids, just a snappy motor and light weight frame. But they come with maintenance which cost more $$ new drz is still a 5 speed and has the same old heavy engine that just needs oil changes to live forever.. The other jap and euro 450 bikes need more regular services and head services/valve shims and eventually top ends. my 300 just needs a top end every few months that i can do myself. Im also lucky enough to have a HRC kitted crb1000rr that i take to Phillip Island Track days (motards suck there because its a fast track) and harley night rod all murdered out, 260 rear and a 23inch front wheel, airbags with a basic tune and exhaust for big rides in Aus

I you would stop breaking things you wouldn’t have to buy a new rear break for the bike
