Grass around the flagstone will look great...after you spend a lot of time weed whacking around them every week. Paver driveways look great also, until the weeds start growing between them. Then you have to constantly spray weed killer on your driveway. Choose wisely folks.
You found a good one for sure been watching his content for a long while and he keeps me in stitches as well as a couple projects I’ve done of his. Not as fun as it was in his videos though 😂
From my perspective HAXMAN is not only a supurb DIYer but more-over he has a rare knack for the art of comedy and entertainment...I really like his clown like hair style as much as his affable approach and demeanor to the family's projects. My assessment of HAXMAN is of a purist...a highly devoted man's family man with a gift of humor and a wee bit of sensationalism thrown in for good measure. I'm a fan!
Ya know, I don’t like ads. Skip em majority of the time. I think in the years I’ve watch RUclips your the first channel I’m perfectly happy to watch the ads. THANX for the video bud, u n ur family seem to b a GREAT FAMILY UNIT. The way u n ur wife chum along together reminds me of my parents KEEP BUILDING !!!
Haxman, you're channel ranks up there with Big Chief's channel. The fact that you have your entire family engaged is something to behold, and you gave me an idea for an outside movie screen also....thanks.....
I've been watching you for a long time and love your vids. In the past year you have taken it to another level, we love your setup / projects. Great job for keeping the weight off too man, your looking great. Cheers to you and your family.
I've seen quite a few of your videos and am impressed with your work. Impressed enough to let you spend a month or so at my place taking over my backyard projects. All the hot dogs you can eat plus I'll let you walk the dog a couple of times a day. Take all of the time you need to think about it. Great video, by the way.
There are 2 reasons why I haven't done this in my yard. #1 the climate where i live would make it useless 10 months out of the year. #2 I've had to call the police several times to report noise violations from one of my neighbors on several occasions. I know they would call on me.
This was such an awesome project. Love channels like yours and Ambition Strikes - always leaves you on the edge of your seat for next week’s progress reveal. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving Hackman and Co.!
Love your videos You helped me perfect my firepit years ago. And this past summer my wife wanted outdoor projector movies for the kids. Looks like you’ll help me perfect that too
I just wanted to say I stumbled into this channel a few days ago (since I watch a lot of building stuff cus I used to do engineering in school but ended up quitting school from mental and physical issues), and I IMMEDIATELY fell in love! Your humor, your family, your house, your content, ALL of it is amazing, and I've been watching every single video. I wish I had a dad like you, you deserve #1 dad title imo. Also, random question (please don't take this as offensive I do not mean it in an offensive way I have autism so I'm bad with words please bare with me lol), is Riley (I think that's how you spell her name sorry if not) a goth? Because I am and it would be amazing to see another goth who (I assume) likes building stuff! I wish you luck with the channel, your family, and future projects! Totally off the subject, Haxman, I love your curls! And the fact that you get so much done in less than 30 minutes❣️🤩 And seeing your family work as a team.❤ I appreciate your videos TY 🙏
I bet you could find some metal plumbing flanges that would trim out the air inlet holes around the firepit nicely against the tile. Chrome might look nice, or brass. Brass would probably eventually patina to a more natural/earthy color.
FYI… you can paint your PT wooden post with rubberized roof sealer (can even drop some green dye into it first) before burying it and setting concrete around it so it doesn’t rot… just make sure you seal it at least up to ground level (I prefer to seal 4”-6” higher) then seal the bare wood with a clear wood sealer too. (“Pergula” made me 😆, but the “rock speakers” playing “rock music” had me 😂🤣)
Mr Haxman... I have to warn you... the previous owners of my house decided they would do a flagstone walk way in the back yard to a non smokeless fire pit surounded by a circle flag stone area... Here I am 5 years later and I here to tell you that the flag stone walk way and area around the fire pit absolutely sucks. They did like you and just filled everything in with dirt but its been a nightmare with grass growing in/through the flagstones and they constantly crack and chip.. Trying to take the grass out with a weedeater just ends up chipping the stones and nocking rock everywhere.. I was actually hoping that what you where going to make for yours would be something better than flagstone.
That home theehator is a sweet piece of constructionery you have built there! digging the projector cover! To be fair everything you build is spot on! 🙌🔥
Awesome show y'all! You & your wife work great together. Thank you for the new word of "booger hooks" that sent me rolling! I love it!! Y'all are fun and ..I learn new things. Clean good hearted fun wins every time! Bless y'all a ton!
Great fun video ! I like that you are in (or near) Florida, as am I - born and raised.. I have watched other similar shows, where they build things up north, and I'm always like "yeah - that wouldn't last two months in Florida " -- Especially when they use unprepared wood which I would consider nothing more than termite food or build something a hurricane would wipe away on the first hit LOL. I like that your family participates too - bless you all !
Haxman, you are so funny. You must keep your family in stitches. I wish i could have you for a week. My hubby died 3 years ago, after 37 years of marriage. We had good plans for our backyard, but i can't do it myself. I love your videos. Thank you, and keep them coming.
Awesome video as always Haxmaster and Haxfamily! I didn't personally like the tiles, but that doesn't matter, it is what you guys like and I appreciate that. Other than that, it was still fun to watch it 😃 The stone path came out amazing! That spider.. I would have moved to another country.. oh man..! And the pergola and outdoor theatre was just.. amazing! ❤ Fun video as always, love all Kim comments and all the bits in between, like the spider - even though I don't like spiders, but those snippets in between everything else. The audio, the music of course, all of it.. You guys make so awesome videos! ❤
Good morning. I enjoy watching your videos. About your ligustrums, you have to trim the tips off to make them bushy and fuller. You have to do it every year until they look the way you want them. If you do not trim them, ligustrums get leggy and gangly leaving gaps that you can see right through. My neighbor planted ligustrums as a screen between my yard and his. However, he never trimmed them. You can see and even walk right through them, completely defeating their purpose. Every time I look at them I laugh out loud.
As someone that's done granite & stone/tile work throughout my life... I was a little bit surprised that you didn't use some very thin tile spacers or shim-style spacers to keep things a little smoother in appearance... I noticed one tile in particular that appeared much more sunken than those around it (less mud on its backside???). The thin spacers can provide a better tile "float" from tile to tile without the need for grout or caulking, if you want to avoid that. I was glad to see that y'all spaced the base and managed to do that with some pretty dang good symmetry... I do love the usefulness of the cardboard from tile boxes! 😂 Otherwise, I really appreciate the explanations of the steps and the reasoning of steps, especially when you deviate from your "I would never, you should never" Haxman Rules for Dummies... Coming to a bookshelf near you soon!!! 😂 --> I did wonder if you grew that grass for sod? And if it was any particular type of grass? And if so, why you chose that type of grass??? Is some grass easier/better for sod cutting? For quickly acclimating to/growing in the area it's placed? Do you ever pre-treat or do anything special to the dirt to promote sod growth after it's placed? Really enjoyed this one! Thanks! I didn't grow that grass for sod. It was available to use so I went for it. 😂 There was no sod available near me and I figured this would do well since it was already growing well not too far away. Thanks again!
First off, I saw that coming and second off, if only you knew a guy that dealt with vinyl fence posts. 😂. You aren’t kidding these were big videos. You just knocked out a lot of work!!
I bought a 180 inch projector screen from amazon and I built a wood frame to hang it out by my swimming pool... I use a projector/roku stick and out karaoke machine to play movies and sing karaoke on the big screen outside.
Thats cool..love the screen outside!! Some years ago, we would invite friends over to hang out on the patio, and we had one of those giant tvs..so we would just roll it right in front of the patio door and watch fights, or whatever. We have two doors to the patio area so it worked out great. It wasnt actually outside but almost. 😂 ❤
You remind me of a guy I use to know named B-lys back in Colorado. He was going through really rough times and wanted to go elsewhere in the world. So, I gave him some money to get a bus, train or plane ticket and never saw him again. Always hoped the best for him!
I thought of that too, with S. Illinois cement (clay) that would be so convenient , then remembered my Dad standing on top of the auger on the back of the tractor to get it to go into the ground 🤦🏼♀️ok, maybe not…..
Trick: paint the part of the post that will be under the ground with roofing tar (I thin it with kerosene) and then put a trash bag on the end before dropping it into the ground.

I love the grass between the flagstone, so much so I did it at my house as well. One thing I didn’t plan on was the grass trying to grow over the flagstone (I have st Augustine). So I had to use the weed eater on each individual flagstone every few weeks and that got old really quick. So I killed the grass and went with mulch lol
