The scratch guy is a 6. Look at all the footballers on you tube with low handicaps and crap swings!!! Never play comps. Greg just submit cards!
Hi Josh. Do you find golf more difficult when you’re filming a RUclips video? My swing is less relaxed and worse when I film myself. And I’m not putting my swings on RUclips like you.
You're both golfing way better than I am but it's kind of strange to see Ben's practice swing so different from his real swing. His driver head is in a completely different position in the backswing when comparing practice and real swing. Also he's moving his clubhead up first before moving it back in the backswing on his real swing. Had to do a slowmo to see what is actually happening. Still, most of his shots are great but it looks quite onorthodox.

Respectfully have to disagree, spent 3 years of my life watching scratch players and +6, +7s while being in the industry. The level of golf here is around +3, based on the course handicap oddy is probably a +6 but his index is probably a real +3. Play a tough course, 18 holes, document everything. Even a lot of soon to be tour pros I encounter are +4, +5… it just doesn’t add up.
@ In UK we used to have completely diff system to where when you shot say -5 you would only get cut 0.2 shots off your handicap if you was +3 this made it so difficult to get extremely low handicaps!
I was going to say the same thing. With skins the money normally carries over when you tie a hole. Hole 1 - Josh loses. Josh down £100 Hole 2 - Tie (£100 skin carries) Hole 3 - Tie (£100 skin carries) Hole 4 - Josh wins 3 skins. Josh up £200. Hole 5 - Josh wins. Josh up £300. Hole 6 - Josh wins. Josh up £400. Hole 7 - Josh loses. Josh up £300. Hole 8 - Josh wins. Josh up £400. Hole 9 - Tie (£100 skin carries). It looks like we were robbed of the extra hole to determine the final skin. Let's say they split it then, so Josh ends up with £400. Did I get that all right?
Once handicap gets to scratch it should then be done on stroke averages Bc you are a +6 in the current system but that doent mean your avg score is 6 under.
Josh you are a fantastic golfer do not get me wrong and you give the guy a great lesson 😉😉 but you know who actually are +6 - +8 handicappers ; PGA Tour Pros. Do you think you can compete with them every time you play with them ??? If the answers is no there seems to be something wrong with the HC system then ... You are definitely up there with Steph Curry and so on who has + HC but thinking that you can compete with people like Bryson and Scottie is absurdly delusional. Maybe the HC system works different in UK I do not know but we know the numbers of tour pros...
Nice video. Honestly speaking, it’s not that I don’t believe you’re a +6, it’s just the course itself wasn’t very difficult, and if it’s your home course then you have all the advantages. You seem like a solid scratch but a +6 is questionable. Go to a neutral course where you both don’t know the course and see if that +6 travels. But good content mate. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Not a plus 6. Good golfer but wouldnt compete with good plus 3s or 4s. How do you do skins. Do you not carry them over if you halve a hole. You should have more 💷
The “+6” really shows in achieving better proximity to the hole on partial wedges, pitches, and chips, plus exceptional putting.

That's what I was wondering.
How does a natural player like that need shots on his own course.
Anyone can do it! It is just putting the rounds together!
he is does his thing well and repeats it.
You probably don’t keep a handicap like you should. This guys playing by the book & he recovered off his bad holes. At least enough to compete. He probably scores 2-5 over regularly. That’s his average. Not his handicap
@@Diego-qz9yu Handicap system is wild it can change so much if you just have one amazing round!
First time viewer. If you’re a +6 why aren’t you playing Forme Tour events?
Just subscribe and stay tuned for a big year
Jimmy bullard would absolutely smoke you giving him 6 shots 😂
Is he off scratch then?
@@joshoddy very close…maybe .4
Handicaps don’t mean anything anymore. Only way to tell if someone’s elite is by seeing their results in proper events.
Presumably you were involved with England set ups and played British am, brabazon etc
Turned pro at 18 but I played for my country as a junior and played most of the top amateur events
The rumour is that he shanks every third shot.
hahaha
Iron lofts are so out of hand… a 19 degree 4 iron!!! That’s a 2 iron in old money. May as well just get rid of the numbers at this stage and put the degrees on the bottom.
AVODA to the moon!
Short course…The handicap system today is a joke. Either bandits or posers off low handicaps they can’t play too. +6 is unheard of apart from the worlds top amateurs. You’re a decent 3 handicap. The scratch guy is a 6. Look at all the footballers on you tube with low handicaps and crap swings!!! Never play comps. Greg just submit cards!
@@BrianOSullivan-tb3if hahaha
Are you playing clutch this year ?
Yes sir
Hi Josh. Do you find golf more difficult when you’re filming a RUclips video? My swing is less relaxed and worse when I film myself. And I’m not putting my swings on RUclips like you.
I have got used to it honestly I am just putting tripod down and then pressing film.
Youre a good golfer, Doing a lot of placing tho. is it lift clean and place rules everywhere? Jw
It is just mud ball central if you do not clean and place lol
When we play skins we carry the halved holes over.. so when you squared the match he should have been owing you money in my book
haha I like the sound of that!
@joshoddy it really adds pressure every halved hole. Playing for 200 then 300 then 400 for the hole
where in the UK are you? you all sound way more British than the other UK youtubers
Isle of Wight!
He’s a good ball striker and just found something that works
Nibbles !!!! 😬🔥

Scratch golfer?! Cannae even spell scracth 😂😂
Sorry Arckie
fancy playing a round with a 12 handicap who has only been playing 6 months😉
This could be an interesting video
getting down to 12 after only 6 months is impressive mate!
@ Thanks !been playing 2-3 times a week, as been jobless due to a personal issue.
So I have been putting the time in. Used to play a lot of cricket I think that helps. I tend to be obsessive about sports once I start I am all in lol.
I have a pretty decent cheap course near me and Im a member, so Im able to go for 2-3 hours on the course in the afternoon (basically empty this time of year) and practise instead of hitting the range then I play 18 at the weekend.
@@Dylan-y6n nice one mate. I feel like a lot of beginners practice playing the range not the course…you did the opposite and you’re reaping the rewards! Give it a few years and you’ll be scratch 🤪
@@sjgracing97 I agree, I dont go to the range anymore I just play a few holes instead, range is pretty useless if you can do that...
I reckon I could get to 6 or 7 in another 6 months.. My goal was scratch in a year but Ive realised that is unlikely 😅 I tend to have a few blow up holes still, if i only play 9 holes Im usually between +2 and +6 over par, then ill mess my score up on a few holes on the back 9 if i play the 18
Respectfully have to disagree, spent 3 years of my life watching scratch players and +6, +7s while being in the industry. The level of golf here is around +3, based on the course handicap oddy is probably a +6 but his index is probably a real +3. Play a tough course, 18 holes, document everything. Even a lot of soon to be tour pros I encounter are +4, +5… it just doesn’t add up.
I turned pro off +3 old system this new system is kinda crazy!
@@joshoddy Do you mind explaining what system you keep referring to? Were there changes to the way handicap index was calculated?
@ In UK we used to have completely diff system to where when you shot say -5 you would only get cut 0.2 shots off your handicap if you was +3 this made it so difficult to get extremely low handicaps!
This would have been tense with a traditional skins game . Youd have been up £300 when you won the 4th 💵💵💵
What is taditional skins?
I was going to say the same thing. With skins the money normally carries over when you tie a hole.
Hole 1 - Josh loses. Josh down £100
Hole 2 - Tie (£100 skin carries)
Hole 3 - Tie (£100 skin carries)
Hole 4 - Josh wins 3 skins.
Once handicap gets to scratch it should then be done on stroke averages
Bc you are a +6 in the current system but that doent mean your avg score is 6 under.
Agree
Changing a ball mid hole?
Shot penalty lol
If damaged
@@NickWainwright6970 you continue to play the hole with it. And change on the next tee. But declare the change of ball
We will see hopefully play some unbelievable courses this year!
I thought it was against the rules to change ball mid-hole? ok, ball was damaged.
Yes the ball was damaged we will let him off lol
Well done, cooked him nicely

new fan!

thanks man!
Saying you're a +6 and proving on paper you're are different.
ok sir
Some humble pie now feed him to tour sauce for desert
hahaha bring it
Boy, the first 3 holes I was like "Scratch and +6?? These guys play like wankers" 😂😂
It all came together by the end eh? Nice round!
thanks man hahaha
Lucky another fairway nezt to it...
Indeed
For a "REAL SCRATCH" Golfer that first person has a horrible swing
whatever works Jim Furyk
Eamon Darcy swing for the lefty
Haha
Not a plus 6. Good golfer but wouldnt compete with good plus 3s or 4s. How do you do skins. Do you not carry them over if you halve a hole. You should have more 💷
Yeh forgot to carry them over and I’m just stating what my England golf app says….
So many braindead haters in the comments it actually makes me cringe. They need reality check that good golf doesnt always look like a 63
You’re not wrong
good golfers nice!!
