Similar futon is what I have for the bottom bed/couch in my 16x7. As stated, can easily take it out for hauling furniture, stuff, etc. which I've done for people several times. Good video.
Good to see Don and Barbara again! I might have to borrow the side awning for Jan's and mine. Good looking vee nose area. We like it. And we enjoyed meeting Don and Barbara. Look forward to seeing them again.
This is a nice build and a truly charming couple as well. They are exploiting one of the true advantages of a cargo trailer conversion. Quick, cheap and they are out there making banana pudding and having a blast! They seem to have everything they need at the moment and upgrades can come as they decide what they need or want. But it looks terrific just the way they have it now too. Keep the tours coming.
I agree it doesn't have to be fancy I always say as long as it has the three S's (sleep, shower and sh&t) that's all you really need, plus a place to cook. It's about getting out enjoying nature and having fun with good friends. Great build.
That ceiling is gorgeous! I also love the color of the walls. I love that y’all just did whatever it takes to get on the road. Ours wasn’t complete when we got on the road. We slept on a blowup mattress for several trips before we built our bed. It’s definitely a work in progress.
Interesting take on an awning! I've got to remember that. Been thinking about how to have an awning over my rear deck. I have a regular awning on the long side, but been puzzled about the back deck. Thanks!
I used painter poles in mine for height adjustments, a chain link to attach a tarp to the existing screws in the top edge of the trailer 7x12 we have, and dog leash screw tie down for the the ends of the tarp corners with big bungee cords. 8x12' tarp folds up nice and small, bungee cords go on the inside up against the ceiling to be out of the way and quick access. I like his also, long line makes for a great clothesline!
Well that’s pretty good with just throwing it together. I can tell they will enjoy that and after awhile they will have it just like they want it. What a neat idea how he did those hooks on the awning 👍🏻.
Excellent! Another recycler who couldn’t throw away something that looks absolutely beautiful in the trailer! Easy to get on the road with a functional camper!
I love when you do the work-in-progress builds. We get lots of ideas! We’re leaning toward an interior wall in ours (ramp, not barn door) for air conditioner, window for circulation, plus door to get out the back if we want/have to. Thanks for all you do! Kir and Ron
now this is a nice simple functional build... 1 thins i have seen is a angled metal bunk bed from wall mart. the top is a single bed bottow is a twin or full
Great job in rush. To bad there is not a short little flap on the tarp so rain wouldn’t drip down. Throw the flap on top of trailer and lay a rock, stick, etc…
I’ve been debating awning choices and the debate is over. I’m going the tarp route too. The nicer power or manually operated awnings are nice but they fail. A storm comes up. A rogue gust of wind appears out of nowhere. It happens…often. I have a friend that has an tv awning. A pin fell out. One arm got bent because of that. Could not be fixed so new awning. $900! Then a flat tire and trailer totaled. New awning was used 1 time! I feel like the awnings are just too vulnerable to damage. Harbor Freight has the silver/black heavy duty on sale right now at $17 for the 11’ 4”x 15’ 6” size. I’m buying the 3 that the coupon is limited to. I could have disaster after catastrophe and still have shade ready to go for less than $100 all in. Not quite as convenient as the true rv awning but really no big deal to build or deploy. Seeing this one as well as others has convinced me.
I pull a 20 X8.5 with a E150 van. about 5200 pounds unless i have 4 wheelers or golf cart. then right at 7000 pounds and that is the limit for my van. like they said research, and weight distribution hitch. Also what size engine, mine is 5.4.
@@brianhubbard7707 Thanks for your feedback. My F150 also has the 5.4, a person @ Ford said that my truck has a towing capacity of up to 9000 lbs but to stay on the safe side and keep it around 6-7000. I'll have to install an electric brake set up it is only set up with a 4 wire plug right now for a small utility trailer I think.
It was one of the things that came with the trailer when we bought it. It can be taken out easily as it had stainless steel buttons it slides down on. We have plans to make a back wall to put an air conditioner on . And we hope to be able to put it on the backside of the wall for an outdoor kitchen along with the stainless table we put on the outside .
How would you recommend to look for campsites, I’m going east coast to west coast and I’d like to find places that will accept box trailer at the sites
Most any Federal, and state campgrounds accept box trailers. For access to federal campgrounds, download the Recreation.gov app. Then, just type in the search window the area you want to visit, and the app will show you what's available. There are several apps out there to help you search campgrounds.
Its grate you can put in what you need and go....
I love the carabiner connection idea!
We had a good time! Thank you for getting this together!
Thank you
The kitchen walls are a really good idea!

the awning is genius.
Yes simple and cheap. Great idea
Nice start on your trailer. You have what you need and for the most part you're comfortable.
It's great they way they put it together, you can always add to

They did a great job in a short time. It meets the needs and functions well. Thank you.
Yes it's amazing

Yes simple but effective
Now that a simple build it’s vary nice and functional… those two are happy people and are enjoying their camping
And that is all that matters 😀
That’s Exactly what matters ! This just shows that with a cargo you can get on the road and have everything you need. And it looks so nice !
Thanks for the video. Looks like a good little setup.
Keeping it simple, just how I like it .
Cheers

I saw a 5th wheel cargo conversion trailer today... very nice..
Thanks for watching
Very nice build.
Thanks for watching Heather. ❤
Can't believe they just "threw it together!"
Amazing job.
They will make a few changes, but they just wanted to get there.
Proves that you don’t need a huge budget to get out there and enjoy living.
Exactly! just get out there, enjoy!!!

Love that build. I'd like to get a 8' w x 17L x 6.3 inside height but don't know if my Lil half-ton will handle it

Mines lil smaller but i love all tips help me build her im calling her nelly
That is an interesting stainless shelf above the counter. What all is it used for?
