One Correction: Central Asia was ruled by the Sakas(Scythians), Sogdians, White Hunas etc before the Turkic Khaganate invaded that region after 500 A.D. By the year 500 A.D, Sakas became history. The People who live in Xinjiang or Tarim basin are a mix of Sakas and Turk. The same with Central Asia. Turks used to live near Mongolia, most probably North of Mongolia. Timur was a Hybrid. He was a Mix of Mongol and Turk. That’s why he was called Turco-Mongol. Even Babur was a Hybrid. The People of Turkey are mainly descended from the Hittites, Ionians, Greeks, etc. They were part of the Byzantine Empire. Genetically they don’t have anything to do with East Asia. The Turks of Central Asia didn't convert to Islam freely. They converted after the Arabs invaded Central Asia and forced Islam upon them. It happened around 800 A.D.
I had read somewhere, and it is more correct, the People of Turkey are mainly descended from Mongol of North Mongolia, were Mongol and Mongolian by race, when they invaded ancient Iranian countries of central Asia , mixed with Iranians(Caucasoid) and gained Caucasoid features, represent people of Turkmenistan. Later they invaded present Turkey area and then again mixed with Ionians, Greeks, (Mediterranean European Caucasoid) and gained some more Caucasoid features , to form Modern days Turkey people, however you still can see many Mongoloid looking or mix Mongoloid /Caucasoid people in the Turkey. The present People who live in Xinjiang or Tarim basin are a mix of Sakas and Turks, that is why they are not pure Caucasoid because of mix of ancient Turks(Mongol + Iranic/Caucasoid)) and Caucasoid Sakas(Scythians), that is Mongolo-Caucasoid mix race , just like other Central Asians of present days.Timur was a Hybrid. The point is that learn history through the primary sources, not through myths and legends spoken by random people. That's why he learned Persian and translated Baburnama and other reliable sources himself. There are some sugercoated translations done by wetern and leftist historians which need to be corrected. That's the point.
