I have this Nikko deck in black. I've been meaning to sell it on e-Bay for a long time but it's needing repair. For whatever reason the cassette 'plays' for a few seconds and then kicks it off. The belt appears to be fine. I'm a-technical, seems like it may be something easy, but either way I'll just sell it in AS IS condition on eBay. If anyone knows why it's doing this I'll be glad to know what may be causing it.
I had the same problem. In my case it was the motor. When the tape wound to the right and the reel got "heavy", it stopped. Replaced it and the deck works like a charm.
Awesome, i found 2 Black models at a resale shop , with amp and tuner all in component cabiner
any info on where to get right belts? i just came across ND 790 which needs a replacement
