I can’t tell your number of times that I did not check the scoreboard on the auto pilot, to confirm what it was doing. Thank you for the reminder to always check before I assume that the auto is engaged and doing what you wanted to do. Fly well!
Took me a while too. Really helpful when the flight plan is not executing as expected and/or autopilot is petulant. Then at least you have the scoreboard for a sanity check
Very insightful lesson with a deep analysis. This video will be an excellent resource for pilots who are planning to fly it. I love the high-quality camera work.
@@JBalloonist Yeah, it definitely feels different. I just took my hand off the stick when I hit the AP button. I only noticed it when the plane started to drift and pitch up.
Excellent video, from a pilot @ 17 hrs on a G6 SR20, the Comms error I also did last week while waiting for my clearance on the ground and sighting traffic, my instructor sees them in a milliseconds, me, takes so much time, I believe time in the air brings more of our senses into play and hopefully it becomes more muscle memory
@@RMK67 Glad you liked the video. I think you will get a little bit more muscle memory like you said. I’ve definitely gotten better overtime, but I’m still not good at it really. Good luck with your training!
@@Delightsofnothing I did. It’s just that the buttons sometimes require a hard tap to work. I hit the button, but not very hard and I failed to confirm the AP was actually on. The plane was trimmed pretty well so it kept doing its thing without any immediately noticeable problem.

@@RusscanFLY Glad to hear it’s not just me. I never had an autopilot during training, but I’m starting to get good at it.

@@fighterbomberMiG27 Thanks! Glad you got some value from the video. Headed to Kansas City next week. Stay tuned.
@@ChurchAir Sounds like a plan, man😀
I’ve never flown a Cirrus so can’t speak to how it feels, but I can tell easily in a Cessna when the autopilot is on based on how the Yoke feels.

Only 5?
Rookie numbers… 😹
Advice: keep flying you’re doing great!
@@michaelgarrow3239 Ha! I’ll definitely keep flying. Thanks!
Hello, I'm curious, did you set your modes (ALT and HDG) before you hit the AP button?
