Finally she talks about her talk show, she definitely hit on topics at the time that nobody was doing. I wish she’d mention her music career, anyone remember the music video she made with the girls from antm?
While the thinner black women are body shamed and torn down, receiving comments like,” little booties matter” back handed compliment. I’m a small framed black woman and it hurts feeling not good enough
Not back then & remember she was literally one in a million. Now there are more Black models. Those models were white & super skinny! She has several interviews speaking of how she was constantly told she wasn't skinny enough & her butt was too big. Look it up, pretty interesting.
Man I miss the Tyra Show! I watched her religiously! Now it’s Wendy but I miss her so much she was fun aware of issues for women and especially black women in my opinion she was real honest and fun !!!!! Man come back Tyra
YES YES YES. I would always rush home from school to watch the show and talk about it the next day with my friends. I ADORED this woman growing up. She was busty like I was and such a needed representation of a successful black woman that was hard to find on television back then that I could relate to at that age.
She told ppl the same things she was told...She looked at a girl that was maybe 125-130lbs on her next top model show and asked "How's it feel to be the only plus size model here?" Wtf.
In the mid to late 80's the modeling agencies where so brutal. I remembering trying so hard to get into that world only to be told " your lips, butt and breast are too big. Now look people are paying to have big lips, breast and hips - Monica
Very interesting because i never watched Tyra's show but I was a heavier child/adolescent that had insecurities and went through many struggles and i know that would have resonated with me because it does now.
The modeling world is so warped and mentally unhealthy. Be comfortable in your own skin. Look in the mirror every day, but REALLY see your self. You are UNQUE. No one can think like you, no one can act like you, no one can feel like. Embrace your uniqueness. There will never be another Exactly the same as you.
We should strive to be healthy for the sake of being healthy and fit, not for the sake of looking good in a bikini. I agree the modeling industry is garbage.
@@ilovetyraandnaomi No we shouldn't. We should promote health and fitness in a realistic and attainable manner but make the main goal good overall health as opposed to only aesthetics.
Tyra Banks’ legacy in pop culture is certainly a mixed bag, but I honestly think the extent to which many people vilify her nowadays can be a tad excessive. There’s an appropriate time to hold her to account for some of the harmful impact she had on her reality show contestants, talk show guests, etc., but I honestly also believe a lot of her intentions were well-meaning at the same time, and I think it’s okay to acknowledge both sides.
I don't think it sounds rehearsed. I like the flow how she talks and prefer it to somebody who stutters their way through it. I'm sure she knew the questions or topics beforehand and came prepared. 🤷🏻♀️
Your story and Noami story are most important to me to be aware of that career learned by your expérience i ready to b one thank my girl tyra banks from your fan keisha
I'm sorry, this was one boring episode of uncensored, nothing was really all that interesting other than her life as a Victoria Secret model. I think she's a nice person but somewhat boring.
Off topic...has anyone noticed a pornographic type ad that is popping up on TV One? Some type of streaming service. It pops up at different times, I didn't think they would allow that type of ad.
Yea!! I thought I was crazy. I was doing something when commercials came on and I heard something that just sounded wrong with the music and then I saw the black screen with the stream price and I was like what is this!!! They need to get that mess off! Since they got that going on I mute the tv or change the channel when a commercial comes on, I don't want to see or hear that.
It’s strange that she said she was doing that for all women to love themselves but that contradicts what she said to Yaya and Tocarra during season 3 of America’s Next Top Model. Tyra told Yaya that she wasn’t special and wasn’t good enough and she also told Tocarra that she was too fat. Tocarra and Yaya were the best in the entire series
Tyra never says you're fat the end. She says I think you are absolutely beautiful but the reality of this industry is that people are going to judge on your looks. So you have to make some sacrifices and keep in shape but not starve yourself. As for Yaya, she was coming off as arrogant to the judges and also other contestants at the time, so Tyra told her to fix her attitude or people will not hire her. Every great mentor tells you the truth and how the industry works. You can succeed on their teachings, if you listen and take the lesson.
violetgirl1996 Yaya was never arrogant to the judges. Everybody on RUclips and Facebook agreed with Yaya and it was very hypocritical for Tyra to berate her when Tyra was wearing an afro that week. Yaya actually addressed this not too long ago on her Instagram. As for Tocarra, Tyra had the power to change the industry and make it better for people like Tocarra but she didn’t against it.
She was supposed to have a speech but was caught up in the moment hence the outburst. I don't know about you but this has happened to me multiple times, preparing for something yet did the opposite at that moment
Beautiful Woman are you stupid? She just said she did it to surprise the guests and her producers. She wanted to make an impact. To make a fucking difference in this world.
how does people critisizing her appearance bother her? Wasn't she a model and complained that people always called her too big? Wouldn't she be over that by now?
I remember when she was the first black model to Grace the cover of Sports Illustrated. It was the first time I had ever seen a thick gorgeous woman with large breasts on the cover. I still remember the bathing suit on the photo. She's very photogenic and has extremely expressive eyes. I miss seeing her on the runway and her walk was to live for
Every interview she gives always seems to be a retrospective of her life or the impact she's had on in fashion. Then if course no interview would be complete without the 'Naomi was so mean to me' story. Seriously does she have any other stories or perspectives?
Finally she talks about her talk show, she definitely hit on topics at the time that nobody was doing. I wish she’d mention her music career, anyone remember the music video she made with the girls from antm?

Young gay me thought she would take over the world smh, I remember it premiered on ANTM. She also shopped it around!
This woman gets mad props!
She must be talking about those other folks. Because in our culture, women who have voluptuous curves are adored and celebrated.
What culture is That?

This interview feels so rehearsed. It’s odd and doesn’t feel conversational, like most of the interviews on this show.
