I concur he's a class above . But somehow I still feel he is a class below STARS like Adam Cheng , Sam Hui ,Jackie Cheung , the late Leslie Cheung , Danny Chan not forgetting Johnny Yeap and Andy Lau . They took Cantopop by storm in the 70s and 80s . These STARS perform with ochestra ambience whereas Ko's an ordinary band without much backdrop !! Typical ketai !!
Joe has taken up his singing career as a pursuit of his interest rather than to destine for stardom. He started by singing the mandarin good oldies, being esteemed highly for his fine tone, singing skills and was dubbed the successor singer of the mandarin goldies by the renowned and late 姚莉老師. It seems inappropriate to compare Joe with the STARS who also engaged greatly with TV or Movie acting careers, as the popularity so gained would certainly be quite much different. Joe has embraced new challenges in recent years by gradually singing more Cantonese songs to cope with market needs. So far he has demonstrated diligence and expressed he has rooms for improvement. As for the musical band , it has been well appreciated by fans with enthusiasm. Acknowledging one’s weaknesses for improvement is critical whereas irrelevant comparison would seem unnecessary.
The EVERGREENS are not forgotten . Its just that the new generation view LOVE differently . The old laced love with the sea , stars , moon . The young compare LOVE with the 5 Cs .
