I hope they realize the windshield on a Golf 1 is held in place only by a big rubber seal. Unlike modern cars, where the windshield is glued onto the bodywork. Make it go over 250 km/h and the windshield will be in your face. Literally!
not really its held in with a rubber seal yes but theres also a metal seam that runs all the way around to stop it going in and its laminated glass so it will be fine

***** Das geht nicht, nicht mal ein bugatti veyron hat diese Fahrwerte wie dieser Golf, alleine 100-200kmh in 5s und ab 200kmh wird der noch schneller, weil die Räder da nicht mehr so nach Grip schreien.
@Crazygamer, with a high powered fwd car you want to shift past the power peak so that you can somewhat control it. The Golf's turbo, engine combo and tuning is designed to make all its power way high in the powerband ( near 9000 rpms ) for maximum power and, to some degree, traction.
Boba Motoring It looks like you have sped up the video, as the hands move very fast and the heads bob very quickly, then again I was listening to it turned down, no with the volume high it seems more legit but it still looks like you sped it up a wee bit!
iSol It does look a little weird, but I'd attribute the jerky movements to the car being very small and lightweight and the suspension being extremely hard. He's also demonstrating the acceleration, so that's why he shifts so fast. I agree that the passengers' movements look a little weird in the video, but if you look at the scenery I'm pretty sure it's legit - this car is all over youtube, and can be found in a few online (and probably printed) magazines, too. There are drag race videos, and dyno videos where they actually have it at slightly over 1000hp. Not sure the 1000hp one is the same car, but it doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure these guys are professionals. Their website (look up boba motoring) has extensive picture galleries of their projects and also details a few breakdowns they had with broken trannies, crankshafts, etc.

That looks scary as fuck! That torque steering is insane! Personally I don't want the wheels that do all my steering to be the ones breaking loose and shredding themselves at highway speeds!!!!
The really impressive thing about this car is, the 3.1 lateral Gs it's pulling due to torque steer.. FWD + 700bhp. = lane changes without any steering input.. try to watch the steering wheel instead of listening to the motor bounce of the Rev Limiter.. 99% of the time, you will be quicker to short shift, than to wait on traction ... especially with turbo applications. I prefer RWD, but, these guys obviously know their VWs, do really nice fabrication, the cagework is so clean. This car from 100 mph roll race to 160+,is capable of embarrassing most anything on the road.. traction permitting... lol. nice work..
