Thanks for this review. I'm pretty much convinced. If I had the extra money, I'd go for a macbok pro, but the service on Dells is very hard to beat and the hardware is very good.
Will look for refurbished and put it together. This is perfect for my mom as a replacement for some cheap crap (15.6" built like some netbook, no upgrades and only passive cooling…) she bought herself. SSD for system and HDD for data will be ideal for her needs.
Thanks for the explanation, I have a question regarding "Dell Latitude 5590", this laptop has one USB type-c port which is "Display Port Over Type C". Does that mean, this port can be used only for display propose only? If I have a Type-c earphone, can I use this port for meetings (means audio and mic)?
No, it is a USB-C port, with Display Port in it as well. It works just like a regular USB-C port when you plug in a USB-C device or cord, and it works like a Display Port when you plug in one of those.
I love my 5590, i have the 17" version with 512 gb SSD, 16 gb RAM, i7-8650U CPU @ 1.90GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.1GHz. I do however find the Intel UHD 620 extremely underwhelming, even for a integrated GPU. I wish you could place a small GPU-card in that huge slot where you can place SSD's and HDD's. Also, i have found that the USB ports on this model is of quite poor quality and break easily.
yep i think that lenovo is better but watching the xps dell line i couldnt decide, besides my keyboard experience is far better on lenovo, but the machinery on dell got high quality, regards

Thanks for the video. How is that cable(the one used in connecting the HDD to the laptop) called? At 3:20. I need to order one
Thank you for the review.

What is the size of the larger battery over the smaller?
2:08 why would you not put the esd shroud back onto the new ssd?
thanks

This does not have liquid protection. I have had sever users spill coffee on them and they died.
Don't spill stuff on computers, user error has no place in reviews
