I saw Duomo, La Scala, Last Supper, Leo Da Vinci museum, Brera, Lake Como and stayed in 2 youth hostels in Sept 2002. Then departed for Zermatt where I slept in a barn set up as a summer hostel. Possibly had the best sleep of my life in a quiet, dark, clean barn under warm blankets on fresh straw. What a wonderful trip!
Thanks for the tip on eating out, but it's Sforza Castle that caught my attention: one of my favorite films ("Ladyhawke") filmed some of its scenes there.
In the Sforza Castle DON'T miss the PIETA' RONDANINI by MIchelangelo, the most INTENSE work of art in the world. It's in a separate room in the Castello Sforzesco. Ask for it at the ticket's office.
+feduo45465 thanks, even if technically I'm not a Milanese anymore, I miss "her". Even the foggy winters or the suffocating summers...if you can believe it; I don't live that far but everyday's life keep me away...don't even know exactly why but I love Milan. Thank you for replying. Best wishes.
For the love of god Mark, it's not Soccer!!! It's football!!!! The only country where they call it that way is USA!! By the way, great video. My mother moved to Milano five years ago and when wo go to visit her we do more or less the same circuit. I 'd add the Porta Ticinese food zone along the river which is full of people at night, the Via Torino, the Rinascente galery, and an eventual trip to lago di Como of course. Cheers
milan is smaller than manhattan but so full of treasures that 1000 hands full of fingers would not be enough to list all of them ;) I mean, besides churches, you didn't mention the monumental cemetery, the hangar bicocca, l'arco della pace, il quartiere isola, i navigli, lo stadio di san siro (la scala of soccer) and many other places and tips...!
+woltersworld Good news! Hopefully we will meet somewhere in Indonesia. Late June will be Eid al Fitr, so probably you will see some of Moslem themed decorations in Indonesia and Malaysia. After surfing in Costa Rica, I guess you should enjoy Bali and Phuket a lot!
I love your videos and I'm leaving in June for a 3 month backpacking trip around Western Europe, so all your videos are soo helpful! I really liked the female safety video from way back. But my question for you has to do with very recent events. Do you think it's safe to travel right now? I hear things like the bombs in Paris and the problems in Brussels and I'm scared that something will happen while I'm over there. Do you worry about your safety from the terrorism that's happening right now?
+Caitlin Christian Europe is safe don't worry about it. I'm An Arab and no one bothered me or my wife when we walked on the streets but watch out for beggars and don't interact with them at all.
You are nothing in opera unless you have played the Met. I learned this from an alumnus of the finest Opera Program in the world at The Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington. Rated higher than Julliard.
Saying you're nothing if you haven't sung there is a little extreme. If you've sung at places like La Scala, Paris and Zürich opera, Berlin Staatsoper etc. and haven't sung at the Met, chances are you're still a pretty damn great singer. Even though I might have named the Met before La Scala as the "opera mecca", but that's debatable.

I live near Bergamo, glad you've mentioned my town :)
Very good video, no nonsense, full of info and personality

Several countries call it soccer. And soccer and football are both correct names.
+M Williams yes; surprisingly in countries where football (or soccer) is not very popular.
+TheLanciaFan the actual name is CALCIO!!!!! ;)
I added Milan to my travel recently. Good timing this video. ;) Thanks !!!
this video helped me so much for my trip to Milan!
So glad you got out of Vegas...

Hello! from beaujolais!
i just got back for italy and it was Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! what is your favorite city in italy mine is rome
+Jade Tyra me too :) I'm going back again this summer to enjoy it again... and again... and again :)
+woltersworld Awesome! i have always wanted to go so glad i got the chance.
Also Basilica San Lorenzo
Nice place! In our video we have tried to colour this city with old vans! :)
We hope to visit italy in may/june 2017 for a 2 week tour :) milan being one of the places we wish to visit
+teehtravel glad to hear that, as an italian living near Milan I agree with Wolter for the place to visit.
why is there a french flag behind you ?
I think it was Nov 2015. The city of Milano put out a french flag as a brotherhood sign because tha Bataclan attack.
The frech flag is on Palazzo Marino, the palace where the city head administration is placed.
i think it is two flags the italian and EU flags, the eu is blue and it is in front of italy's and makes it look like the french flag
I was kinda hoping you would put the San Siro for a game. 2 legendary teams play there
+Fr3shTiger so true :) needed that one in there. Sorry

tenor9216 Okay you've sold me! :-)
BobEckert56 bullshit nothing compares to La Scala
Not even mentioning San Siro is criminal
Come to Philippines :)
lalilulelo sorry no comparison
Your video is great, like always!! but Milan is horrible. Really boring, lame and so ugly.
in Italy, I loved Rome, and Turin was ok!! But Milan...
Pretty good video....this guy gets a bit annoying at times......
Milan not worth it - - go Lisbon, Madrid, Budapest, Copenhagen, any where in fact - -
