  • Motor Current Vs Heater Current
    In this Video you will learn how you can calculate the Current value of a Motor and a Heater
    The motor full load current can be calculates by the following parameters:
    P = 1.732 * V * I * P.F
    Voltage (V). The phase-to-phase voltage for a 3-phase supply, or the phase-to-neutral voltage for a single phase supply.
    Phase. Whether its a 3-phase or single phase voltage supply.
    Rating (P). The power rating of the motor in kW.
    Power factor (cosΦ). The rated power factor of the motor. Typically around 0.86.
    Efficiency (η). The efficiency of the motor. Typically around 95%. Enter 0.95.

    Considering only true power, they will pay the same amount of money. But if reactive power is considered, then the motor will pay more money.😊

    The motor will draw more current(Amps) .The heater is resistive... Lower amps but higher voltage. The KW usage over 1 hr is the same. They both use the same amount of electricity. Just differences in "Pressure"(Volts) and "Flow"(Amps).

    The heater will consume more units because the more the current, the more the work done, the more heat produced, the more the units consumed.

    Base on your calculations, a 1KW.motor would probably take more current than heater

      1kw motor will not work on 1kw , always less, the heater always work at 1kw

    What if we are using a three phase conversion on a single phase power supply... Can it reduce amperage consumption...?

    Is the same kw= kwv x pf
    So if they are the same kw then will use the same watts right?
