I am 62 years old retired now but was in the car business my whole life. I cannot believe that you actually got that car running and running right! You never cease to completely blow my mind! Keep up the great work man
@tooslow406I have and would buy one again. It's fine after some bodywork and paint. I had a lemans that the whole interior was burned out. The roof and the windshield and back glass was out of it. I paid a thousand for it and got it going for 2k and its been a good car ever since.
Damn skippy! Squirrels and caterpillar shots were pure joy. His solutions and work-arounds to get this burned out hulk (barely) back on the road were next level. The way he films and edits, genius.
Replacing the flexplate without actually removing the engine or transmission from the car is probably the most heroic fix I have ever seen. Fabricating a wiring harness isn't far behind. This whole rescue has been fascinating.
I also thought he would have to pull the driveshaft and tranny. What the f do I know? Then I thought he'd have to pull the new flex plate. What the f do I know? Not much apparently.
@SimonFordman if you ever need to do that again, thread in the 2 starter bolts in the bell housing and take the pry bar and slide it back. Once done just push the transmission back to the engine. The starter bolts keeps everything lined up and plenty of room to replace the flex plate with out dropping the trans. Bad ass work my dude 👍
I agree! But not laying the new flex plate on top of the old to check for size and fitment before bolting it on was a mistake that he paid for. Bet that doesn't happen again!
@cjaye1126 I'll never be that deep in again at my age and I'm now only driving automatics, but that's a quality tip that maybe I can apply in some other context. Good info.
@George-h1y, oh I know i can't do what he does, which is what makes me so frustrated. He has the ability to do better, and chooses not to. Has nothing to do with jealousy or hate.
Another portion of pure awesomeness is served, ladies and gents! Exactly what everyone wants to see, no music, no BS talking. Just a man showing his skills and craftsmanship. Thank you, Simon!
@TimesChange64 I was kind of thinking the same thing considering to my knowledge flexplates are factory balanced. Then again a torch to a flexplate underneath a car installed without dropping the transmission fully... I am guessing the video's engagement will pay for a few more rear seals down the road. I am flabbergasted by what I witnessed.
Thanks for bringing me back to my younger days. Early 70s. We had a junkyard out in the woods that would give us $50. for any car we could get to them. We would scour the area towns looking for junkers in backyards. Most folks glad to get rid of them. Friday and Sat nights were spent towing and pushing cars to the junkyard. One guy steer ,another on the trunk holding a tire. What a blast. Thanks you are a beast !!!!
72 Chevelle owner from NJ here. I really enjoyed this one. I like the Fords but this car really needed to be saved. Solid floors. The camera vantage points are like no other YT channel. No narrative is needed. The actions speak for themselves.
The squirrels saving their winter stash of nuts. Priceless. Replacing the flex plate flat on your back. Holes don’t line up? Got a fix for that. The first drive is great cinema. Much respect for you!
@AlterraSmellsAgree. The squirrels were removing the nuts to “save” them from Simon. The car was no longer a safe place for them. Simon seems to have a real connection to the small creatures living in his projects. Simon, many thanks!
The amount of planning, setting up shots and editing has to be astronomical. Let alone fix a car, which must of taken him weeks or more. I really don't know how he does it. We don't deserve him. Well, done Simon!
This is brilliant. No talking, no music, great camera angles and cinematography. A lot of thought went into this and the jobs on the car took twice as long because of it. Great stuff.
That's what fascinates me about Simon's videos: no dialogue, no music, just the sound of wrenches, engines, blowtorches. That makes me incredibly happy. Two hours of video is like nothing at all. Perfect.
Dude I swear to god that, the feeling when I see a 2 hours + video from Simon is so good.. I feel like anything can take my happiness from me! Just watch and relax! I would pay anything to keep watching these videos
you brought this poor thing back to life, when everyone left it for dead. you brought tears to my eyes, with both the revival and with your adorable kitties. every time i watch your videos, i want to immediately wrench on my 67 dart and give lots of lovin' to our 3 little dogs. thanks, man. you're a hero - for your love of your girl, your cats and your rusty old iron that needs just one more chance to shine. and great cinematography, man. 2 hours of watching you hits me harder than any of the crap movies hollyweird puts out these days. you're a car guy and a pet lover, and i love you for all you do. thanks.
The end of that production gave me “Christine” vibes… I was waiting to hear that piercing horror movie sound, and the headlights turn on…😊 what a resurrection 👍
I was thinking of what to watch today and thought of a dozen different big budget hollywood movies or even just binge on some TV show ... instead, I was completely enthralled by watching some backyard mechanic miraculously bring back to life a burnt out hunk of junk and drive the resurrected remnants of this charred husk around the city in the dead of night ... and symbolically, metaphorically bring it home as the sun rose at the break of dawn ... the car had spent the cold darkness of a long night alone and abandoned and a mysterious wizard of a mechanic had brought this four wheeled ghost back to the land of the living and the sunlight It's the most thrilling two hour film I've watched in a long time ... and there wasn't even any dialogue in this whole thing ... it's amazing ... 5/5 stars and awards to the director, editor, writer, set designer, lead actor, co-star and the entire film crew
man I love watching him work on vehicles that others would pass up or throw the towel in on. I can't help but wonder his path to getting all of this insane knowledge and skill. What an absolute beast he is of a real mechanic.
Simon, you never fail to blow my mind with your ingenuity, talent and perseverance. You're the youngest old school mechanic around. When you add to that your amazing gift with videography, it amazes me that you don't have 4-5 million subscribers.
I'm 17 years old, I want to open my own car service and then do restoration, not just maintenance. I live in Russia, so I'll most likely never encounter the legendary American muscle cars. I'm going to make a muscle car based on the ''Volga'' machine, I'm glad that there are people like you who keep legends like the chevrolet chavelle alive.
With a windshield it'll be ready for some Big Block brawlin'! Amazing cinematography on the first drive. You're like a fighter pilot flying an old war bird!
That starter has been through a fire and is 100% more reliable then anything you can buy at an auto parts store right now. Dude, that flex plate replacement was impressive!
The closing sequence of you driving downtown/at night was pure genius in cinematography and production. You take the ordinary or mundane and turn it in to art. Simonefordman is the rock all other RUclips channels break themselves upon.
Just an amazing unique content. Love this guy, love the quantity of the different camera angles he finds, love the vehicles choices, love his golden hands that repairs all that stuff. Go on sir, we love you!
When simon walks into the car, enter, and starting it up while the camera is looking at the car far away literally gives me the feeling that the car itself is the protagonist, a character, a soul that came back as a ghost.
Your shooting style is wonderful to watch. Real visual storytelling!! Great composition on the shots too. The low-angles always impress. I'm impressed you resurrected that zombie!
Great videos! I'm always learning something new mechanically and how to solve challenges with your vehicles. The cinematography is top notch. Keep up the great work.
At 400k subscribers, it seems about time to move on up to a house just outside of town on a acre, neighbors at a slight distance, so all his cars have parking with a sweet 2 car garage to expand into.
Fully watching through a 2 hour video without any commentary wasn't something I planned on doing this evening, but it was well worth it because bloody hell the cinematography and skill on display is absolutely mental.
I don't know what I'm more amazed by, this man's mechanical wizardry or his cinematography.
Yes.
Equally impressive
Both!!
Too many closeups too fast need some wide angles to make it understandable
yes
Sorry kids, Halloween is cancelled. Simon posted a new video!
Yep 👍
LOL !
Halloween is an evil holiday anyway. Should not be celebrated
Simon is the only person I can think of who can take a car out of a crusher and drive it home.
Dalton from PBG can too.
You can't forget Mr Derek from good ol VGG!! He'd pull it out and drive it 6-700 miles home 😝🤣
Check out sleeperdudes wrecker resurrection a couple of weeks ago I'd of bet most anything it couldn't be savaged
@Mytwocentsisallicanaffordgood channel
@Mytwocentsisallicanafford Please give me the link, I can't find the video you're talking about...
This guy knows hes a master mechanic! Kudos to you my friend !
I am 62 years old retired now but was in the car business my whole life. I cannot believe that you actually got that car running and running right! You never cease to completely blow my mind! Keep up the great work man
getting it to run is easy. selling someone a burnt car is the hard part. i dont know anyone that would buy one.
@tooslow406I have and would buy one again. It's fine after some bodywork and paint. I had a lemans that the whole interior was burned out. The roof and the windshield and back glass was out of it. I paid a thousand for it and got it going for 2k and its been a good car ever since.
@tooslow406Simon is a filmmaker, he enjoys cars. He's just having fun.😂 try it sometime.
So you indeed may be slightly crazy.
@tooslow4065
You're wrong on both points.
Just wanted to go to bed, guess I'll stay up a little longer...
YOOOOOO ITS THE GUY, THE MAN, THE LEGENDARY LEGEND
Same, same.... Only other thing that could keep me up is some more of that sweet Datsun!
@WilhelmBusch-z5kWilhelm wat is denn looouuus sachma. Fühlste dich nu gut unterhalten oder nich?
The legendary Datsun dude! Nice to see you here 😍
@WilhelmBusch-z5k who cares it’s his cars not yours
No way we just got a whole short film at the end absolute cinema
It reminds me of the movie Christine, when it turns the light on
I'm the local guy with the 72 chevelle, thanks for the early birthday present Simon!
Hey, nice. Happy birthday
I need to send you video of my DZ302 280Z!@SimonFordman
For me, it's one a the best vidéo you make. Crayon project, good mecanic ans great cinematic. Remind me the movie Christine and the game Driver.
Simon needs to have his videos put up for an Oscar! Great cinematography. Every shot tells a story.
Definitely a lot more going on here than simply working on a car. The workload he is under to produce these vids is heavy
Damn skippy! Squirrels and caterpillar shots were pure joy. His solutions and work-arounds to get this burned out hulk (barely) back on the road were next level. The way he films and edits, genius.
I knew a Johna in Iraq?
The final shot . Turning the key off ... Cinematic EPIPHANY .
I was wondering if there are YT awards, as the cinematography is amazing
I've heard of things coming "back from the dead" but NOT after they've been cremated!
Monumental piece of work!!
The zombie has awakened.
At 36:00 the little skull bouncing around had me ROLLING. 😂😂
It was like I could hear it complaining.
Replacing the flexplate without actually removing the engine or transmission from the car is probably the most heroic fix I have ever seen. Fabricating a wiring harness isn't far behind. This whole rescue has been fascinating.
Glad to hear, thank you.

The king of car content in the world has no competitors
Not even close to king, until he starts taking care of his tools and equipment better he just a court jester who gives good entertainment.
@winnerscreed6767you couldn't do what Simon does so stop being jealous and hateful. enjoy your day.
@George-h1y, oh I know i can't do what he does, which is what makes me so frustrated.
He has the ability to do better, and chooses not to.
Has nothing to do with jealousy or hate.
@winnerscreed6767 he work simple with simple old things, not operate a nuclear power plant
@winnerscreed6767🤡
Another portion of pure awesomeness is served, ladies and gents! Exactly what everyone wants to see, no music, no BS talking. Just a man showing his skills and craftsmanship. Thank you, Simon!
This car did not even hope for such a miracle. Simon is a wizard
The real hero here is that shop vac. 💪🏼
Runner up: WD-40
What about the squirrels? They were doing a good job.
My real hero is the squirrels.
What kind of impact gun you use for the wheels, I can't find the right one with muscle 🤔
@tacoheadmakenzie9311Rocky lives, where's Bullwinkle 😂
The real hero in this video is that shop vac. That thing did some work. 😂
Not sure what’s more insane - his way with machines or with a camera. Dude’s out here tuning engines and emotions.
Changing the flexplate without removing the transmission - impressive
Never saw anyone do that before and making it fit with a torch..... Necessity is the mother of invention. ;-)
that torch job will kill the crank, not balanced now rear bearing will start to leak and poof
@TimesChange64 Fluid damper.
@austinb7758 Primo stunt-mechanic-ing
Doing all this with just jackstands is simply incredible
Puddin's Fab shop did the same when he started out.
Puddin did stuff I was amazed at.
He's young enough that it probably doesn't bother him but give some years and he'll get sick of it
I did it for years. At 65,I'm a broken down old man
Gotta have a twin post lift now.
Thanks for bringing me back to my younger days. Early 70s. We had a junkyard out in the woods that would give us $50. for any car we could get to them.
The cinematography of the first drive is incredible
My man the night drive scene is bad ass!!!
With almost every video, I think there's no way this car can be repaired*. And every single time, you prove me wrong! You're amazing, much respect.
Restored, really isn't the right word here. More like, repaired.
the fuck are you talking about. most of his cars that hes repaired, not restored, have just been sitting for a long ass time.
@tututunanana996 ahh, no worries m8. Hope you didn't take offense to my reply.
72 Chevelle owner from NJ here. I really enjoyed this one. I like the Fords but this car really needed to be saved. Solid floors. The camera vantage points are like no other YT channel. No narrative is needed. The actions speak for themselves.
Anda sungguh multi talent ya,bisa memahami semuanya sendirian dari masalah mesin, body sampai kelistrikan dikerjakan sendiri
This is for only , the ones who love to cruise an see so so
Not for everyone
U might have it done my some one because
Its 11.30pm in UK, Simon video just dropped, looks like im staying up till 1.30am 😊
Nice problem 😂
Cheerio.
I think those squirrels were thinking about running off with the Distributor cap ;)
The squirrels saving their winter stash of nuts. Priceless. Replacing the flex plate flat on your back. Holes don’t line up? Got a fix for that. The first drive is great cinema. Much respect for you!
they were actually pulling the nuts out!! Simon must have hired them as the "small space cleaning crew" because they worked well as a team! :D
@AlterraSmellsAgree. The squirrels were removing the nuts to “save” them from Simon. The car was no longer a safe place for them. Simon seems to have a real connection to the small creatures living in his projects. Simon, many thanks!
Well. They were roasted nuts after all.
The amount of planning, setting up shots and editing has to be astronomical. Let alone fix a car, which must of taken him weeks or more. I really don't know how he does it. We don't deserve him. Well, done Simon!
Your basically saying what I was thinking. However I like the style
He must have done mind of media training
This is brilliant. No talking, no music, great camera angles and cinematography. A lot of thought went into this and the jobs on the car took twice as long because of it. Great stuff.

Dude I swear to god that, the feeling when I see a 2 hours + video from Simon is so good.. I feel like anything can take my happiness from me! Just watch and relax! I would pay anything to keep watching these videos
Não vá dar ideias...
Yep, he's truly inspiring and makes anything seem possible

That's very flattering, thank you.
This young man never ceases to amaze me. He has it folks. Has a very bright future ahead of him.
The end of that production gave me “Christine” vibes… I was waiting to hear that piercing horror movie sound, and the headlights turn on…😊 what a resurrection 👍
I was expecting a “Show me”
I accidentally missed my sisters pregnancy announcement because i was watching this video. I wouldn't have it any other way.

This will tip him over the 400k. Congratulations Simon.
The homage to driver at the end was 🤌🏽 *chefs kiss*

To get a stucked oil filter loose I used to ram a screw driver through the housing, always did the job
Simon, you never fail to blow my mind with your ingenuity, talent and perseverance. You're the youngest old school mechanic around. When you add to that your amazing gift with videography, it amazes me that you don't have 4-5 million subscribers.
Thank you
Didn’t know it was Simon Ford man until I saw the ole truck lol
The 'late night/early morning' drive was a nice touch to this one!!!
Have a nice shift Sir!
@manmadeartistsThank you 😉
this should run in cinemas. i would def pay the ticket.
I'm 17 years old, I want to open my own car service and then do restoration, not just maintenance. I live in Russia, so I'll most likely never encounter the legendary American muscle cars.
Simon Fordman's amazing editing is truly a genius director.
Glad to see another car saved from being scrapped.
Especially the cool ones. Not as cool as some of the mopars but much more interesting than new.
@JerryBanks572Dude, Chevelles are cool, and even though I'm more of a Mopar fan, they're still that cool.
Wow, he found a car worth 10M, but it's a better treasure than he's found.
The welded chain, lugnut filter wrench worked great!👍😃
And the Oscar goes to…! Bravo !!! This one is my nominee for Best of 2025. Thanks for doing what you do S.
One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen done on a car. That car is so cool.
Opening peoples eyes to these cars rebirth is extraordinary. Just enough and not too much allowing the next guy to leave his touch.
This is absolute cinema, that Chevelle deserves a resurrection, even without erasing his history
This man is fearless. Loving the cinematography as well as the crazy projects!
With a windshield it'll be ready for some Big Block brawlin'! Amazing cinematography on the first drive. You're like a fighter pilot flying an old war bird!
Was just going to watch a movie on tv but would rather watch Simon work on cars he is awesome
The new "Christine"! Well done. Great video work Simon! 👏👏👏
42:02 The exhaust note is awesome.
That starter has been through a fire and is 100% more reliable then anything you can buy at an auto parts store right now. Dude, that flex plate replacement was impressive!
20:41 Mr. Squirrel, you just moved from the country to the suburbs
The closing sequence of you driving downtown/at night was pure genius in cinematography and production. You take the ordinary or mundane and turn it in to art. Simonefordman is the rock all other RUclips channels break themselves upon.
Came to the comments section to say the same thing
Just an amazing unique content. Love this guy, love the quantity of the different camera angles he finds, love the vehicles choices, love his golden hands that repairs all that stuff. Go on sir, we love you!
Must be a wild ride with no glass.
hence the goggles ,leather jacket and ''driving'' gloves🤣
Yea, it's more like driving a motorcycle than a car.
I love it !!!
You sir are the macgyver of automotive.
When simon walks into the car, enter, and starting it up while the camera is looking at the car far away literally gives me the feeling that the car itself is the protagonist, a character, a soul that came back as a ghost.
Man,that drive through parking...a godsend. Doesn't get more suburban than that.I envy you...
This dude be getting some of the best camera angles!!
Once I started watching i was hooked. It was almost therapeutic to see everything come together.
The night rider and the old smoke box it was a fantastic show.. Thanks Simon..
Your shooting style is wonderful to watch. Real visual storytelling!! Great composition on the shots too. The low-angles always impress. I'm impressed you resurrected that zombie!
He worked hard, but little by little he's restoring this spectacular muscle car. Patience and hard work paid off! 👍💪
Great videos! I'm always learning something new mechanically and how to solve challenges with your vehicles. The cinematography is top notch. Keep up the great work.
The neighbors must love this guy
At least he doesn’t have some annoying azz dog that barks non stop like my neighbor
He works on the neighbor's cars . Bet me .
Wish i was, lot of toys to play with you kidding?
I sure would.
At 400k subscribers, it seems about time to move on up to a house just outside of town on a acre, neighbors at a slight distance, so all his cars have parking with a sweet 2 car garage to expand into.
It is a BIG block, fantastic.
Fully watching through a 2 hour video without any commentary wasn't something I planned on doing this evening, but it was well worth it because bloody hell the cinematography and skill on display is absolutely mental.
No wonder it took so long for this vid to drop; This project was a challenge, even for a master like Simon! Super Job!
You make complex tasks look deceptively simple.
The worse the condition of the car you are restoring, the more interesting it is!
A tingle went up my spine when that thing barked and growled. Subscribed.
