Enjoy hearing Don read his thoughts before the last concert. The view of the brothers as he knew them versus how the audience was seeing them was special.

My mother was born in Staunton, Virginia and I grew up on a farm near Mount Crawford, Harrisonburg. My brother Donnie Trobaugh went to high school with them. My kids now in their late thirties were weaned on their music and their concerts. God bless them and their inspiring music. Palmer Sweet

My father , "a tell it like it is" old farmer, enjoyed good country music, and disliked rap music. I remember him saying "No kid ever blew his brains out by listening to The Statler brothers "....
      I miss you dad...

There will never be another Statler Brothers. Of the male quartets of country/gospel and crossover, they are the absolute best. Even my father who really doesn't have a great ear for music(but loves it) gives the Statlers the nod as the best male quartet - ever.
I don't know how they could ever be topped in terms of quality and purity of vocal greatness.

So many memories of the Statler Bros.through the years!! They were a constant when I was growing up.
I was so saddened to hear of Harold's passing. My condolences to his brother and other family members.
It's been a hard month for the country music family. We have lost many greats,Harold among them. NO BETTER HARMONY THAN WHATS BEING SUNG IN HEAVEN RIGHT NOW!

It's interesting how low is Don's talking voice. Lower and deeper than his bassman brother.

I enjoy listening to Don read his memories of his thoughts before the last concert. His resonant voice and his memories of his "brothers" as they were in their youthful days enhance enjoyment of the book of Random Memories and the CD of the Last Concert.

I started listening to the Statler Brothers when I was a teenager, back in the 70s. Sure, I had the long hair and listened to Rock and Roll, when I was together with my friends. But, when I was alone in my room, I always enjoyed listening to the SBs and their music of nostalgia. Still a huge fan in 2022!

They said they don’t know if anyone else wrote a book that way. The married soap opera couple bill and susan hayes did. I love the statler brothers!!!
