When I bake my freshness… I don’t like the bumpy side so before I remove them from the mold ( while they are cooling) I take a flat edge of my dowel and smoosh it down then I release it…flip it over and bake it again on that bumpy side for a few minutes and it comes out smoother and it looks better. I like your idea of the eye hook 🤩
@@FarmhouseDesigns I just noticed that auto correct changed freshies to freshness 😳 anyway… after they bake on the first round I take my sponge tip dabber brush and pounce the edges down as well as the middle just a bit. When it releases from the mold I leave it on the baking sheet and reheat a second time… I like how it turns out
New subscriber. I’m thinking about making these to add to my inventory of other items that I make. They are so cute!! Came across your channel while viewing other freshie videos. I love the way yours turned out and how you explain things so well. Thank you. I’ll be binge watching your videos! 😊
THANK YOU so much for your tutorial!! I finally understand how to get the jute & bow to look nice now!! I cannot tell you how long I have struggled!!! ADORABLE Freshies!!!
Really like the eye screw technique. Great idea melting it in part way up the actual eye. Very classy touch. And I bet they rarely if ever melt off though Cars do get HOT depending on where you live SUPER Hot too. Thanks for sharing your ideas so well too.
How long do you bake them for and at what degree? Been making freshies for a few years now but lately my last couple of batches coming out looking a little funky when they melt
You video was one of the better ones I watched on car freshies... do you mention in any of your video"s on how much you would charge for 1? interested in how you price them, thanks again for a awesome tutorial....
Hi, Thanks for sharing your process! These look great and you explain everything well😃 It has been awhile since you posted this, I am curious if any of your testers experienced any eyescrew fallout. What climate range are you selling in mostly? We get triple digits in the summer...curious.
Save some stress and use a small piece of foil to put a drop of super glue on to dip the eye screw in, then screw it into the freshie and that puppy will stay put. Keep up the great helpful videos!
I’ve seen that trick! I typically don’t have issues getting them out of the cutters and even when I use cooking spray for actual cooking I end up spraying it everywhere 🥴
I actually got mine from a small cooking shop in the town I live in. I think it was actually labeled 3” biscuit cutter. You’re welcome, thank you for watching!
I’ve had no problem this summer! My car is black with black interior and not well tinted, it sits in direct sun all day with the sun coming directly into the windshield for at least half the day. Of course that doesn’t mean it could never possibly melt and fall off but I feel like the odds of it happening is the same as if it were strung through a hole in the freshie
Thank you for sharing your information❤️. Random question and may seem stupid but do you use different cups to color in for each scent or just keep using the same cup? Also do you decrease the temp for baking when you use the card stock? Love your style.
Hi, love your car freshies and want to make some after watching you. Did the freshies melt in the cars of your friends and family that were testing them in the summer? Just curious. Do I need to screw in eye screw? Thank you!
Hi! Thank you so much 😊. I have made and sold thousands of freshies at least half were done with eye screws and to my knowledge none of mine have ever melted. With that being said they can melt and it does happen. Unfortunately, within the freshie making community, we have not been able to pin point the reason why some melt and others don’t. I am intentionally reckless with the ones I put in my own car, I make dark colors, I have a black car with all black interior and my car is parked all day long with the sun directly on my windshield for the hottest part of the day with no sun shade and I live in southern-ish Texas where summers a very hot! And never have I had one melt and yet I see posts on fb where one has melted in Ohio on a 72 degree day 🤷🏻♀️ There is always the potential but I don’t see it happen often. Also, it doesn’t matter if it’s on the eye screw or a hole through the freshie, I’ve seen it happen to both. And no, you don’t have to screw in the eye screw, you can do whatever works best for you 😊

Yes I have, many! It’s actually one of the designs I’m featuring in this series. I filmed it already but I was pressed for time so it’s rushed and I don’t know if I like it so I may have to do a whole new one but it is coming 😊
I would say in break down cost, if your printing your own cardstock these are much more cost effective than others for several different reasons. 1. It takes less beads to fill these cutters than it does most molds 2. Cutters are cheaper than molds 3. They take much less time to finish up post baking because there’s no paint or glitter added after baking…..time=money 4. The ribbon is cheap and one roll goes a long way with these types of bows Really the only thing that’s a little pricey on these is the bubblegum beads, they can range from $.29-$.45 per bead but I put the beads on most of my freshies now so all in all this design is still the least expensive one for me to make.
So when I first started out (and in my first freshie tutorial) I was going by volume but now I weigh everything, beads and oil. The beads on most websites are listed as able to absorb a certain percentage of their weight, so the only way to know you’re not going over that limit is to weigh everything.
Send one down to me I’m from south Texas close to the border girl our heat is crazy over 100 degree I’ll be your test dummy any time u wanna try new product for reals.. ❤😊

And when you bake it the second time it’s not in the mold? It doesn’t loose it’s shape at all when you do that?

How do these hold up in Arizona? I want to buy one but I'm scared of it melting and messing up my dash.
What temperature do you bake them in your oven on and how long?
Spray the cookie cutter with pam or some oil spray. The freshies come out easier.

Nope!
