Man this is a great song! The video gave me goosebumps too. I remember listening to this song when my wife and I (girlfriend at the time) were separated by my military duty and we wanted to get married so desperately so that we could end the waiting and be together. Why do people constantly say "I'm not a Christian, but I love this song!" on Christian rock videos? You don't see people saying, "I'm Christian, and I love *insert non-Christian band*!" If you like the music, listen to it. No need to bring up your lack of religious beliefs for validation. EDIT: I was a teen when I posted this years ago and my mindset has changed. People who come to these videos who don't have Christ now give us the opportunity to witness to them. Now I insist on non Christians posting their beliefs because we now can have theological discourse :)
+Choco Mizzy Because Christian music is driven by Christian purpose. Secular music isn't driven by secular purpose. And growing up in the church, I've actually heard people identify themselves as Christians when expressing they liked a certain secular song. namely those people I grew up with in youth ministry, hearing it from members and pastors. It's just something both sides do, and it's not limited to music. For example, someone might claim they are a Christian but they still really liked a sermon some Mormon pastor gave, etc.

Recently I have been going through a bit of a struggle with my Faith, and I was panicking and worrying, letting my doubts and fears consume me, until I was listening to my spotify and heard this song. The minute I heard it begin I felt something in me, I thought I felt God saying, "Here is a reminder," and the whole song through out gave me encouragement and made me forget my doubts and worries. So I come back onto this video to listen to the song, and it still gives me the same feeling of peace and hope, helping me forget my worries. I'm so glad I found a song like this

This is one of those songs/bands that inspired me to pray to God about the desires of my own heart. I spent years serving in the ministry which as hard as it was I wouldn’t trade for anything. But I struggled with school and wondered if God cared that I had a deep desire to pursue music beyond the four walls of my church and bedroom. I waited for His direction and open doors and now I have two degrees in vocal performance and even got to study opera. I am currently a worship leader in San Marcos and I love every minute of it, and I know He does too ❤️ I thank God for helping me discover my deepest desires and as I surrendered them to Him He made a way and I am so blessed for it.
We just had a girl get saved at a beach retreat and she loves rock but decided to get ride of her playlist because the songs were cursing God and had adult content I showed her this band and she hasn't stopped smiling since
@@bro6117 I've listened to a shitload of music and have only heard one song directly cursing out God, and that was Judith by A Perfect Circle. But it was fairly nuanced if you look at it in the context of the whole song, as it was essentially a man's struggle with watching his devout mother get chewed up and ultimately killed by a crushing illness over a period of 30 years. So what I'm saying is that I find it highly unlikely that there are that many mainstream songs that "curse God" unless you consider "god damn" to be cursing god, which I don't.

when I was a teen, I listened to slipknot, Mudvayne, and icp mainly. for the life of me, I don't now why, but a youth group leader gave me skillets ardent worship cd in 10th grade. their worship cd is exactly that, worship. not their normal heavy stuff. for months I didn't ever put it in my cd player because I knew it was Christian music and I wasn't a christian. one day, I was out of town but for some reason, I had that cd with me. only that cd. so out of desperation for something, I played it. and I loved it. I didn't know why I loved it, I just did. it still baffles me a bit. there's something about christian music that touches the soul in ways nothing else can. I pray for you brother to see God's grace work in you and those around you.
I came across this band listening to a Christian radio station (because it was one of only a few stations where I could get reception...LOL) while on a road trip. I have been a fan ever since... Thank God for blessing my ears with this!
I once spent the day with Dawn, the lead singer. We went to the mall and at Auntie Annie's pretzels. We also went to C28, which was a Christian clothing store(not like Forever 21, like all the shirts had NTW and bible verses.) it was such a great day because she is one of the nicest people I've ever met. I was 6. I really wish I could trade it for now because 6 year old me didn't know how influential this music would be for 13 year old me.

Why do people constantly say "I'm not a Christian, but I love this song!" on Christian rock videos? You don't see people saying, "I'm Christian, and I love *insert non-Christian band*!" If you like the music, listen to it. No need to bring up your lack of religious beliefs for validation.
EDIT: I was a teen when I posted this years ago and my mindset has changed. People who come to these videos who don't have Christ now give us the opportunity to witness to them. Now I insist on non Christians posting their beliefs because we now can have theological discourse :)

Because Christian music is driven by Christian purpose.
Secular music isn't driven by secular purpose.
And growing up in the church, I've actually heard people identify themselves as Christians when expressing they liked a certain secular song. namely those people I grew up with in youth ministry, hearing it from members and pastors.
It's just something both sides do, and it's not limited to music.
For example, someone might claim they are a Christian but they still really liked a sermon some Mormon pastor gave, etc.

Recently I have been going through a bit of a struggle with my Faith, and I was panicking and worrying, letting my doubts and fears consume me, until I was listening to my spotify and heard this song. The minute I heard it begin I felt something in me, I thought I felt God saying, "Here is a reminder," and the whole song through out gave me encouragement and made me forget my doubts and worries.
So I come back onto this video to listen to the song, and it still gives me the same feeling of peace and hope, helping me forget my worries. I'm so glad I found a song like this

This is one of those songs/bands that inspired me to pray to God about the desires of my own heart. I spent years serving in the ministry which as hard as it was I wouldn’t trade for anything. But I struggled with school and wondered if God cared that I had a deep desire to pursue music beyond the four walls of my church and bedroom. I waited for His direction and open doors and now I have two degrees in vocal performance and even got to study opera. I am currently a worship leader in San Marcos and I love every minute of it, and I know He does too ❤️ I thank God for helping me discover my deepest desires and as I surrendered them to Him He made a way and I am so blessed for it.

@@bro6117 I've listened to a shitload of music and have only heard one song directly cursing out God, and that was Judith by A Perfect Circle. But it was fairly nuanced if you look at it in the context of the whole song, as it was essentially a man's struggle with watching his devout mother get chewed up and ultimately killed by a crushing illness over a period of 30 years.
So what I'm saying is that I find it highly unlikely that there are that many mainstream songs that "curse God" unless you consider "god damn" to be cursing god, which I don't.

when I was a teen, I listened to slipknot, Mudvayne, and icp mainly. for the life of me, I don't now why, but a youth group leader gave me skillets ardent worship cd in 10th grade. their worship cd is exactly that, worship. not their normal heavy stuff. for months I didn't ever put it in my cd player because I knew it was Christian music and I wasn't a christian. one day, I was out of town but for some reason, I had that cd with me. only that cd. so out of desperation for something, I played it.
and I loved it. I didn't know why I loved it, I just did. it still baffles me a bit. there's something about christian music that touches the soul in ways nothing else can. I pray for you brother to see God's grace work in you and those around you.
I came across this band listening to a Christian radio station (because it was one of only a few stations where I could get reception...LOL) while on a road trip. I have been a fan ever since... Thank God for blessing my ears with this!

We also went to C28, which was a Christian clothing store(not like Forever 21, like all the shirts had NTW and bible verses.) it was such a great day because she is one of the nicest people I've ever met. I was 6. I really wish I could trade it for now because 6 year old me didn't know how influential this music would be for 13 year old me.
