🤣🤣 The first thing I thought when your video started was, “How’s he using this in water?! 😮” Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I’m definitely getting a Great Joy anamorphic lens as soon as my budget permits, so it’s cool watching all the reviews and test footage of those who already have one. Cheers!
The videos shot on the BNPCC Look great! What aspect ratio did you use ? I have the 6k and the Great Joy 50mm. I'm new to shooting anamorphic and still working somethings out so any advice would be greatly appreciated .
Man I honestly don’t remember off the top of my head. I’ve since switched to canon and Red cameras. I used whatever aspect gave me the maximum vertical resolution. You’ll lose a decent bit of image off the sides but that’s just part of shooting anamorphic without open gate recording.
Thanks, bro. Great video. Just one point I though worth making, T2 makes it really fecking hard to keep anything in focus. I have a couple of fast lenses, 1.5's etc, that I can use if I get caught out after midnight, but in real terms, dropping under 3.5 and you start having real issues focusing. Not so bad with a team, DP, F Puller, etc, but on your own, not so easy. T2.9 is still a tight pocket. The DSLR revolution made everyone "Bokeh Bananas" which is not something you see in pro movies. You almost always want to know "where" your subject is.
Dude, this is an awesome review, and the footage is beautiful. From what I hear the 35mm flares even less, however they fixed the variable squeeze when changing focus. Not going to lie, i wish overall they flared just a tad more 😕 Most likely going to purchase the 35mm. I want the Atlas Mercury, but they are a tad outside my budget and won't be shipping for quite some time.
You got some gorgeous footage with this lens and really took it the full ten yards!! I have to say, what I think must be little water droplets on the front of the lens in multiple shots? --those look so cool! So my only question for you is how you submerged your kit! Do you have any recommendations? Looking to get a waterproof solution!
I use the sea frog dive housing for the R5. The great joy fits in the flat port just fine but you have no way of focusing the lens so it's really a struggle to get anything. I was in the water 3 times and each time I readjusted focus. So first swim was set for close focus. 2nd swim was set for medium focus. 3rd swim was deep focus. Pretty annoying process but I got a few shots that I think are nice.
"...cause we do nothing now than consuming content..." Ouch! Facts R facts lol we're becoming couch potatoes lol but in this case your (fantastic review) actually flys above that truth and totally worth it to watch and learn from it. Thank you for uploading this amazing work for us and keep it up!
Great review! I probably watched every RUclips video on these lenses by now, but nobody has as much test footage as you do, probably.
Awesome review. Thank you
제가 궁금했던 질문이 영상에 다 들어가있네요~ 너무 감사드립니다~

Thanks for the response
Just ordered mine because of this review buddy!
I think the diopter cancels out the focus desqueeze issue.
Brilliant review ! I am struggling ,,,, this lens vs sirui ff 1,6 for my lumix S5... hard choice!
Great Job on the footage. looks awesome
INCREDIBLE and simple review. Gave me some great ideas. Def got a subscriber

When I’m finally emperor of everything, I will outlaw blue streak filters. Thanks for the video. Also, Atlas footage looked very tasty.
Let me know when you make it as emperor. I've got a few requests to put in
Looks great!
For the price I can get over the focus breathing look of key framing the desqueeze
if i use a Pl version of this lens with EF mount by using an adapter do i still get field of view or it is not gonna be the same thx
It’ll be exactly the same!
Is the C70 you’re buying super 35 or full frame?😂
Shhhhhh the people don’t know I’m getting that yet.
