Buttery is an interesting word. Apparently it's from old French or Latin meaning "store for provisions", and has a different word origin to butter. (I am not an expert, just interested in etymology, so I looked it up on the web).

Very enjoyable! But wonder why no comment about choir or the beautiful chapel? A minor comment about "expensive laundry." what do you think of emmanuel college? Does it give a vibe of high competition between students & is it friendly? Would you say its relaxed/ not as academic focused like Clare? Thinking of applying this year. XXXX

Emma is SUPER friendly and a beautiful college. I don’t know how it compares competitivenesswise but the fellows tend to be equally good regardless of college

I have literally been thinking between Pembroke and Clare and now I've decided Clare partly because a girl from my school went and they apparently really liked her so I thought it would help somewhat hahah

So is adenbrooke’s just a hospital or do u have ur teaching’s there as well ?
it's a teaching hospital(so both i guess). that's where cambridge med students do their most of their clinical studies (year 4 and 5).
yeah we do clinical placements there but it's a normal hospital too, just like loads of other teaching hospitals!
Sorry Magda, but Trinity has Artemis, so that automatically makes them the best college. 😛

What do medics do for the last 3 years of their degree for accommodation?
I think it depends on the college - some colleges (idk if all) offer specific accommodation for clinical medics, but most people choose to rent privately!
