Victory Arceus It's been a while, so I don't remember where exactly in the video it is, but one of these triple plays would be scored (on a scorecard) the way I said in my comment.
Victory Arceus It's the last play, at 7:10. If you are unfamiliar with baseball it first went to 4 (second base), then he threw it to 6 (shortstop), then he threw it to 5 (third base), then back to 6, then back to 5, then all the way over to 3 (first base), then to 4. Getting the last runner out at second. Here's a link about the positions if you want a visualization of them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_positions
It's crazy how so many of these involved players who have been involved in more than one triple play. Puig was the third out in two triple plays, Sean Rodriguez hit into two, and CC Sabathia was the pitcher in two of them. This is awesome
I just want to say I have watched quite a few of your videos and they are really well done. I was not sure if you were going to be biased toward your Yankees. Thanks for being fair and showing all teams. Watching these is getting me pumped for baseball season.
John Lang *easiest FTFY Basically the entire play is a routine line drive out, and thanks to the runners moving, the runner from first comes straight to the fielder, as he's traveling by momentum to second base anyways. Impressive ones are the first baseman being aware of the guy at third while also wrangling a ball from second during a double play, or an outfielder making the throw to home and the catcher having the awareness of the other baserunners.
This is why baseball is so much fun. These guys are pros and the excitement after the play is like they are school yard kids just playing to play. Bravo!
To say a player who has stolen 40 bases in a season has no speed is ignorant. Say he has no baserunning savvy. Those are very different things. Canseco had all the tools, just didn't know how to use them all the time.
I’ve seen 3 in my days. 1st: 2nd and 3rd, sac fly to centre, CF catches guns him coming home I (C) throw to third for the tag out. 2nd: soft liner up the middle, caught by second, touch base tag runner. 3rd (best): 2nd, 3rd, pop up behind third that falls just in play, rundown between third and home, rundown between 2nd and 3rd and finally tag out at second. Good 2.5 mins in one play, epic!
How's this for a fictional 6-1-9-3-7-1 triple play? Situation: 0 outs, runners on first and third. Lefty slugger at bat. Defense makes a pull shift, moving the 3rd baseman far from the bag. (don't know why we're leaving the runner unattended, but bear with me) Action: They try to fool us with a suicide squeeze. Lefty slugger (who sucks at bunting) pops it up to the shortstop who catches it for the first out. Pitcher covers 3rd base, and shortstop flips it to the pitcher who beats the lead runner back to the base. 2 outs. The trailing runner is scampering back to first base and the pitcher tries to get him out, but makes a bad throw that the right fielder needs to run down. The right fielder throws back to first, but the baserunner unwisely has tried to advance to second and is now in a rundown. The first baseman tries to throw to second base, but also makes a bad throw and the ball travels into left field. By the time the left fielder gets to it, the baserunner has rounded second and is heading for third. The left fielder throws to the pitcher (still covering third base) who places the tag for the third out. Inning over.
I know you're a Yankee fan and all but considering that you had one trip,e play highlight of the Red Red Sox back when Jed Lowrie was a member of the team, it would have been nice to see another that was the unassisted triple play that Jon Valentin had when he was a Red Sox player. I was at that game, courtesy of tickets a friend gave to me because she couldn't use them, Needless to say, she was bummed when she found out what she had missed. Perhaps it's coincidence, but it seems, more often than naught, the player who makes a great fielding play is the first one up the next inning his team is up at bat and, from what I have observed, gets a hit, regardless of the calibre of hitter he is. True enough, Valentin was the first batter up after he made that rare fielding gem and did something that no other player in the history of Major League Baseball ever did before which was to hit a home run in his next at bat after making an unassisted triple play. This was the second Major League Baseball history making event that I had the good fortune to attend. The first one was when Roger Clemens struck out twenty Seattle Mariner batters when he accomplished the feat the first time it had ever been done back on April 29, 1986. It's hard to believe that next year will be the thirtieth anniversary of that momentous occasion. Where oh where does the time go?!
Hi there, I have some questions about baseball, as someone from Europe, we dont have a lot of acces to baseball on television and you will rarely meet someone who knows the MLB well. I follow NBA already, but suddenly (idk how) I saw some baseball and immediately thought this is awesome as hell! The more I watch, the more I love! But I am watching a lot of videos, but its hard to see a game. (On a scrappy stream in the middle of the night...) But, like these triple plays, it looks rare to me, but is this something you see every game, or like 1/10, 1/50 games. Same with homeruns, in-field homeruns, etc. What are the averages of these plays in MLB? Regards ;)
Triple plays are very rare, not something you see very often. Home runs usually happen at least once a game, and inside the park home runs don't happen often either.
Triple plays barely happen once a season per team home runs are extremely common in side the parkers are about as rare as triple plays double plays are very common so are stolen bases any other questions just ask
Ah yes, the ol' 4-6-5-6-5-3-4 triple play.
Victory Arceus It's been a while, so I don't remember where exactly in the video it is, but one of these triple plays would be scored (on a scorecard) the way I said in my comment.

TheWaxLobster Genius!
TheWaxLobster o
Oh yea!
TheWaxLobster play
OHHHHHH BABY A TRIPLE
OOOOOOO YEAAAAAAAAAA
Triple plays are the most impressive play in baseball. So much chemistry, focus, and execution are all crucial for the success of one.
+Daniel Varney not all them alot of triple plays are unassisted you just catch the ball and touch a bag
I just want to say I have watched quite a few of your videos and they are really well done. I was not sure if you were going to be biased toward your Yankees. Thanks for being fair and showing all teams. Watching these is getting me pumped for baseball season.
The yanks got the best triple play hands down we #1!
NYY
I find the triple play more exciting that the inside the park homerun...but an unassisted triple play is even better.
Its like the baseball version of "triple kill"
Puig the triple play maker
Inho Kim He's a good ballplayer, but he has to be one of the worst baserunners I've ever seen.
Inho Kim what team is your fav MLB team
I saw two where he caused the third out in a triple play right?
Inho Kim that was Kemp
Puig is a right feilder so how could he get a triple play
That kid in the middle at 00:47 is like, Why am I clapping?
Puig gets the last out in triple plays a lot
All these compilation videos you make are awesome!
Matt kemp hates triple plays and cc sabathia loves em
Mccallish
The around the horn triple play is one the greatest looking plays in baseball
I love baseball but it's highlights like this that make me love it that much more.
Keep it up Bronx! This gets me hyped for baseball season.
Ikr!!!!
It's nice to see the Dodgers featured in some baseball highlights.
Puig runs the bases like a tee-baller.
Yea but is amusing to watch him being called safe
well yeah and all of the outs with him on video he tries to be an idiot
good stuff. most of this was a highlight for 2nd basemen, the pivot guy, or catching a line drive at the bag. the last was best, two pickles.
I love how on the Mets and the dodgers the announcer said it was a routine 6-4-3 double play but it was a 5-4-3 double play.
BronxBomber42 - thanks for your videos!
All of those plays were beast ⚾️😎💯
Unassisted triple plays are the best in my opinion.
John Lang *easiest
FTFY

yeah
+darkmagician135 4-6-5-6-5-3-4. How's that for paying attention to what's going on.
John Lang they are he easiest though
Unassisted triple plays are more rare than perfect games. With only one swing of the bat
gotta add the amazing 9-3-2-6-2-5 triple play the White Sox pulled off a few nights ago. one of the coolest Ive ever seen
This is why baseball is so much fun. These guys are pros and the excitement after the play is like they are school yard kids just playing to play. Bravo!
Pedroia's hands on that triple play was the fastest I've seen in game
You post great stuff.
Awesome clips!
best baseball channel on youtube
"Inning ending triple play."
All triple plays end the inning.
Not true there’s top and bottoms of innings.
Puig is the worst base runner I've ever seen playing Major League Baseball.
I love puig is really good and he is a ok base runner
+Fernando Salgado even you have to admit he is a terrible base runner.
I agree
To say a player who has stolen 40 bases in a season has no speed is ignorant. Say he has no baserunning savvy. Those are very different things. Canseco had all the tools, just didn't know how to use them all the time.
Marshall Shilling He is fast just uses it wrong

Johnson vs McGuire, one hell of a battle between 2 great players. wish I could have seen those 2 in person
You have the standard 6-4-3 Double plays, but just once i'd like to see a 6-1-9-3-7-1 triple play
Silver Charts That is almost impossible hahaha.
i have no idea what you mean, what kind of triple play is that
+Sergio Zavaleta Shortstop to the pitcher to the right fielder to the first baseman to the left fielder to the pitcher.

Impossible. 2 outfielders wouldn’t be involved in a triple play
MAGNIFICIENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,THANKS.
It's stuff like this that makes Baseball the best game on earth
Nice video, nice plays.
Great video. Remember when the Twins turned two triple plays in the same game?
+BronxBomber42 The best part of your videos is that there's no annoying music in the background. Kudos.

That’s nuts bro
Yankees VS Orioles had to be the best triple play.
Are these clips featured on the MLB website or do you compile the compilations yourself by ripping them from the site??? Good clips in any case....
The ump at 5:22 looks genuinely annoyed hahaha!

A rare 8-2-5 triple play
"I wonder if he forgot how many out there were"
