Ireland, the land of legend, myths and spooky stuff! Banshees, leprechauns and ...!? Stingy Jack fits right in. Three wishes great or small, ya make the 4th one ya loose them all. Curious, huh? Great job and very interesting too. Thank you.
There are a lot of real-life "Jacks," wandering outcasts. Being charitable to such individuals, when one can ascertain their true need, is helpful... especially this time of year.
Great tale and history - I think it's important to note that the tale of Stingy Jack dates to around the late 1700's - about the same time people started carving root vegetables. The practice is not historically attested any earlier.
Hi John, glad to see you again my friend, along with spooky tales just in time for Halloween. Looking forward to your next video, and I hope that you and your family are doing well. It's always a pleasure to enjoy listening to your voice, and seeing the backgrounds you have make the stories even better. May God bless you all, with continued health and happiness!! 🙂
Apprently, in one version of the story, Jack beats the crap out of Satin when he comes to collect his soul. He begs for mercy, and so, Jack lets him go on a few conditions. When his soul gets to Hell, Stain is so afraid of Jack even seeing him, he hides from the man. He still wanders the Earth, causing mischief and tormenting poor, lost souls that take a wrong turn in the middle of nowhere in dark nights. But imagine being so evil, that you make the Devil fear you. Imagine, every Halloween, Satin boards up his doors and windows, lighting a lantern so Jack doesn’t show up. And he suddenly appears behind him and beats the crap out of him again, scaring Old Scratch. Hell rejected him, Heaven hated him, and Earth fears him. And who can say they’ve tricked the Devil, twice?!
Wow what a amazing story very fitting for this time of year and you tell it so wonderfully sorry that I haven't been able to view the new videos as I have been in South America Brazil and Chile on vacation thanks for the video John I certainly do appreciate you telling us the story

Kindness is a good thing, but do be cautious: some Jacks are truly ne'er do wells.
@@brandyjean7015 Which is exactly why I stated: "when one can ascertain their true need." Some are just looking to use others. Discernment is needed.
So many layers of delicious spookiness!

Awesome spooky story! The tale at the beginning reminded me a bit of the old B-movie Pumpkinhead from the 80's.
