I stopped watching it about 15 years ago but have found myself loving these clips! It's definitely not what it used to be, I don't think any of them are.....
@@flutterbyjess777 it's ratings are going down and it's so doom and gloom , storylines keeping dragging out and out.... I'm an EE fan but sometimes I don't watch it , the storylines are awful and miserable .
@@jhibberd6290 You'd be surprised. I know men like Grant who are friends with men like Nigel-it happens. Not all hard men and alpha males are just friends with other like minded men. My neighbour in his mid 30s is a man like Grant; hard as nails, a lad's lad , and has being in plenty of street fights and being in and out of jail. You wouldn't fuck with him and he has the rep as 1 of the hardest men in our town-everybody knows him. He left school at 14. Contrary to this, there's a teacher who lives about a mile away who is a harmless but nice guy, he's gay but not out [I know because my cousin slept with him] and has never being any trouble or bother with the law-a pretty sensible guy who was being bullied when younger. Never being in a fight etc and pretty like Nigel. To say they are complete polar opposites is an understatement. Anyway both men are friends went to school together and you could describe 1 like Grant and the other like Nigel. They became friends though through mutual friends in their mid 20s and they have a similar sense of humour in ways and would both enjoy films and tv shows. The hard guy also has a tough family [mother, brother and sister all being in jail for assault], I know weed would be smoked in the house openly and the teacher comes from a very different middle class background-parents and family all well educated, parents wouldn't drink etc. The tough family would be very kind and protective of the Nigel guy and he'd regularly visit sitting in with them watching tv etc. A similar friendship in the show these days would be Shirley and Jean I suppose.
From what I remember, Grant never joined the lynchmobs when it came to stuff like Mark's HIV or Simon being gay, he seemed to have silent respect for the underdog.
1997 another good year for eastenders
Yeah roll on more Grant and Tiff drama and Cindys dramatic return.
It was a pretty poor year overall, I remember a lot of drab episodes, four years prior to this were much stronger
Nice to watch these old clips , nostalgia .

Nigel and Grant best friends doesn't seem likely
Yep they were friends from when they were kids
@@BelJbraithwaite22 I know but they dont seem likely friends. Perhaps Grant defended Nigel when he was bullied
@@jhibberd6290 yea I remember when Peggy said nigel was always round there's for breakfast tea and dinner

Were leather jackets really that popular in the 90s?
Yeah I had a few back then! Dozens of stalls in the east end markets were selling them.
Yeah they were a 1990s staple along with sketchers shoes
Yep!! Regrettably 😏
@@mp71001 and kickers 🔴🟢🤣
Leather jackets and the curtains haircut seemed really popular back then
Ricky is so nice.

Tiff was the runner up to Sharon but one that Grant could control.
Wish Courtney had been Tony's. Then she Simon, Tone and Tiff could have raised Courtney together.
