Im pretty sure u just have to get used to it like everything, but with the wheel once you master it, is much easier to drive cause is so much smoother, controller is so hard to be precise. Even on shooting games, so easy to use mouse and keyboard and so hard to aim on a controller (thats why most games on console have aim assist).

Color changing ghost is a fantastic idea. Knowing where you can go flat or where you brake etc and pick up time. Never seen that before. And you should use the wheel more often! Lol.
Hey. feel free to use chase cam, TC, ABS, PS4 controller, Paddle shifters, single monitor, gardening gloves.. it doesn't matter what the sim racing community says. Do whatever you want.
Great video. What you said at the end of the video was great to hear. Sometimes feel weird playing in chase cam because it's not the "proper" thing to do. But I enjoy the visuals of the game. When you spend money and time to get the cars you like, I like to see them on the track. Plus, I came from the 90's 2000's gaming generation of chase cam arcade style racers. I do really enjoy the immersion of cockpit view though. Maybe when I get a wheel one day I will use it more.
An interesting video. For anyone wanting to switch from chase cam to cockpit / 1st person view (on whatever game), I recommend watching a few videos from someone using that specific viewpoint. Makes the transition feel more natural.
Top vid. Damn top vid. Damn fine top vid. I always play bumper cam, never cockpit view. Mainly because the visuals these days are so damn good and the view of the inside of the car reduces the view of the track and its surrounds plus of course the other gorgeous cars. Plus you get better impression of speed.
tust the grip, breaking in the mid corner while going fast will make it understeer. i know its natural to think u have to break to make the cornor but if u break the car will go straight and stop turning till u release the breaks again. :)
Cockpit view is for VR only in my very humble opinion. In real life and in vr you can look beyond the dashboard much easier. This game is going to be epic.
Cockpit view is only worth it when using vr for me, the field of view is just nothing like what you get in a real car imo so I'd rather use chase cam. If on VR the view is much closer to how it really is so cockpit view is good.
As a fellow console/controller noob, I play pc2 in helmet view, lots of world movement/helmet lean/look to Apex but with spotter and race engineer on (using your controller settings with slight tweaks actually). I had the same feeling of the car being impossible to control in chase cam on PC2 as you did here.
Lap is still very clean on your in car. I'm old at 50 and so far can't get below 2 minutes but I see several places I'm losing speed compared to you so I've got something to work on.
Thank you for making this video, I really only use chase cam these days in all games and I wonder why they went with an ultra static camera compared to AC that has a really floaty chase cam. I dont like when its that static cause you cant see when your tires are slipping until its too late. What a weird decision by the devs, know of any mods to make a more floaty chase camera?
I think this chase cam is a bit near, i would start with the second default cam and then adjust in the settings to lower the height a bit, then bring in the distance a bit too. I can get close to bonnet cam times with this view. in races, chase cam is great. some top GT players use chase cam, so it is possible. once you get the view settings dialed in, you’re good. The AMS2 chase cam settings are great for adjustments.
Interestingly, I was watching the Blancpain GT race last night and on this track a lot of the cars took liberties with the track limits and got all four wheels off without getting a warning or a penalty if race control didn't notice them so this game is fairly realistic then!
Actually, one of the biggest advantages of using a wheel, are the pedals. If you have good pedals, you can be much smoother with the throttle, but especially with the braking. The brake pedal should have a lot of resistance so that you don't floor the brake pedal unless you really mean to. Install a brake mod if necessary.
I have a pedal set with a clutch that came with a brake mod, the T300 GT Edition (better pedals than the other, similar Thrustmaster wheels), but for anyone that is wondering what a brake mod is, check out this video: DIY Thrustmaster TX / T300 Brake Pedal Mod for $10 - ruclips.net/video/Idil5wuI33U/видео.html
