    If you live in Sandpoint or Coeur d'Alene, what do you like most about living there?

    As a black man that has lived in the Sandpoint area since 1991, l have never encountered any racial issues at all, only welcoming and wonderful people that treat you as if skin color has no bearing on how you are received.

    The maximum someone could afford (be approved for a mortgage) with $65K income, with no other debt/loans outstanding, is about $300K so therefore anyone hoping to buy in these markets are going to have to show up with at least a $350K down payment…and then they’re not going to be able to afford the other costs associated with debt of that size.
    Just admit it…it’s a California market. It’s for all the people that inherited a house their parents bought for $35,000, 30 years ago. They can’t afford the property taxes in CA on what is now “valued” at 1.5 million so they sell it and show up to places like Sandpoint and pay top/insane dollar…all cash, driving the market out of reach for everyone else.

      Thank you for watching. There are definitely paths to home ownership in North Idaho and no you don’t need to make tons of money, even though that does make it easier. I’ve helped several locals. You don’t make a bunch of money get into a home that they love.

    I think the politics of these areas are good not really going into the partisan politics, it’s just they seem more common sense for the various elected officials, and the elected positions that are not good the people put those people in check pretty fast. Just good politics in both cities.
    One thing I think you should touch on is the lakes, because of both places being lake shore towns, lake pend oreilli is colder and that explains some of these micro climates you speak of, not as comfortable of a lake at sandpoint .

      @Ben_Genaetta  14 дней назад

      You do bring up a good point about the lakes and I’ll work this into future videos. Thank you for watching. Do you live in Sandpoint or Coeur d’Alene?

      They all come to shop here
      They complain about Socialist WA taking freedom away while standing @Cannabis & Glass off Stateline exit, buying a felony ID conviction....

    my 2 cents...
    He mentions Smoked Smith BBQ. I ate there once. The food was okay, but not what I'd call good. Their band played so loud it was impossible carry on a conversation while eating.
    Pack River restaurant. It's pretty good, but it's 20 min northeast of Sandpoint, putting it almost an hour from me.
    The Fat Pig. I ate there twice. It sucked both times. And the 313. Never tried it, but never talked to anyone who thought it was special. He lists Powder hound. Decent pizza, but definitely not awesome. Plenty of places serve better.
    Burger Doc? Been there a few times. Decent hamburgers, but horrible service.
    HE DOESN'T MENTION A SINGLE ONE OF THE TRULY EXCELLENT RESTAURANTS IN SANDPOINT!
    Spuds - awesome. Everything on the menu is incredible.
    Arlo's - best Italian you'll ever eat.
    Baxters - best pub food in North Idaho. Best desserts anywhere.
    City Beach Organics - best deli sandwiches and wraps I've ever eaten
    Heart Bowls - best fruit bowls in the world
    Joel's - best mexican food in north idaho
    Pie Hut - great sandwiches, killer pies
    And the most egregious omission of all... The Forge Artisan Pizza. Nuff said

      I’m on the other side but had family in North Idaho and spent some summers there and still do. I almost opened up silverwood back in the day and remember people thought it was crazy. Hopefully 95 will be four lanes all the way to Sandpoint soon because at times in the summer forget about left turns.

    • @Ben_Genaetta
      @Ben_Genaetta  4 месяца назад

      @MegaZboo Silverwood has come a long way, and it’s great to see how things evolve over time. I completely agree about Hwy 95-expanding it would make a huge difference, especially during those busy summer months. What happened where you didn’t open it?

    • @MegaZboo
      @MegaZboo 4 месяца назад +1

      My family and I as a kid went there the first year it opened. Almost no one was there on that nice summer day and everyone had a seat to themselves on the train with many seats vacant. I remember we talked about being glad we went because thinking the park was going to fail badly.

    • @Ben_Genaetta
      @Ben_Genaetta  4 месяца назад +1

    Sagle Idaho is your best bet, I've been there for 40 years and they still don't have their own law enforcement Police department, which is like 12 to 13 mi from Sandpoint Idaho, from where I live, but you got to remember Sagle Idaho is for people that have retired and have pensions and people that have lived there their whole life, the only benefit in living in Coeur d'Alene is that it's closer to the Washington border.

    • @Ben_Genaetta
      @Ben_Genaetta  5 месяцев назад
