Our house including our 28 neighbouring houses scattered around our village called Haru chanam, Kashmir in 1990 was set on fire for burning down to ashes so that we can not even come back to see what was left or maybe too much hatred took them on. People left houses to save their lives as all that was going around was extreme for us, My Uncle was threatened to be killed as he was a teacher in a school. I hope this fanaticism ends everywhere. It's toxic. Jai Hind.
This was a great episode. What I see missing in our side of the narrative is, apart from the points in article 370 (which stands deoperationalized), the right of every other Indian on Kashmir. As an Indian, I have my rights on Kashmir as well, just like I have rights on Maharashtra, WB, Kerala and so on. I think this fact would add more oomph to our narrative.
Thank you very much for this enlightening conversation. I can hear you talk all day. I am a south Indian, telugu community from TamilNadu who has lived like alien in the land of our ancestors. It's another partition story many of not aware of. So, i understand what it is to live with identity crisis. I have intersecting views of both left and right. You can see how my identity crises plays out in every front. Being an Indian, not from Kashmir, it is unsettling to not hear about how Kashmiri Pandits were driven out of your land. Not a single mention in the entire Kashmir dialogue. So, thank you for speaking from the heart, with much eloquence and details.

The difference between two people with differing political opinions in India is simple. It is whether you see India as a civilization state which was there before 1947 or you see India as a Nation state that came in existence in 1947
What were the boundaries of this civilisational state? Have they always been consistent? Have there not been various very different civilisations within this nation?
