Fun Fact: Make a bunch of food at Remy's World and drop it by the door. Whenever you need food just open your map and use the teleport from the castle to travel to Remy's world. Pick up the food, eat, then drop. Walk out the door and appear where you left off. The only downside is you lose your follower, but you don't have to carry food and it's a few golden bar if you do it right at the cost of no resources because Remy's world is free. - ENJOY
Tip for you with the gold harvest: make Remy your farming buddy. I made Mickey and Remy farm people and mikey is the same as goofy, in the sense that he gets in the way. However because Remy is small he's harder to click on so I haven't yet accidentally clicked "talk" while harvesting :)
Really good tip, and Wall E is also good as a farmer for this reason. He doesn't seem to move around as much as other villagers and just stays stationary watching and throwing out crops. Not like Mikey who stands on every golden crop that spawns without fail.
I have goofy, remy, wall-e the Farmers perk. Yet I wish I would have given goofy fishing instead...mickey got fruitpicker perk, Merlin fisher and moana of cause the fishing too. DuckMcScrooge has the mining perk. I find the digging perk the most useless one 🤦♀️
For active play nothing beats the canola. You can plant and harvest at least 5 rounds of canola (close to a 6th) for every 1 round of pumpkins. Pumpkins are 389 profit a piece, canola is 84, 84*5 is 420, 10% better than pumpkins. For inactive play like overnight for example where you're only going to get 1 round regardless of the crop then pumpkin is best.
I did all the math and with watering factored Okra is the best. Only one water time and allows time to do other things. Canola is 4 waters in 35 minutes which means you cannot get distracted.
@@TagBackTv that and you can just eat chocolate candy which is super easy to make to basically refill your entire stamina bar and push you into the gold tier of energy... and all for only 5 cocoa and 1 coal and since cocoa is basically unlimited you never need to worry about stamina ever again
I use the free ingredients in the ratatouille realm to make batches of ratatouille, use 3 to get full yellow stamina and drop the rest on the floor as you can't take them out of Remi's world. They stay there so when I need a top up I just teleport over, pick up the stack and drop them back on the floor again after using some. Free 5 star meals forever lol 😆
@@scampalamps5095 yeah but that requires going back and forth to remys world... when you can just cook 5 cocoa and fully replenish energy and gold energy with just that... and cocoa is literally free and you can place it right by your house for even more convenience...
I recommend Okra, they sell for 207 net profit per seed and that's excluding the extras you get from your lvl 10 friend. They take 2h to grow which reduces the amount of times you have to re-seed and farm and gives you time to either log out or do something else in the game like earning more money with gems etc.
Also, since a lot of people have replied about the bonus harvest chance increasing the more villagers have said bonus, I'll point out that you, if you want to spread everything evenly, can have 3 villagers in each bonus! Of course, that number will only get higher once they add more characters to the game, but for now, we have 15 characters available to give bonuses to, so use them wisely. That being said, from my experience after grinding the game the couple of days, and I'm curious to hear everyone's opinion, but I think, if you were to desire to go this route, that it might be even more worth to invest more than 3 characters into farming. I recommend keeping at least 3 in fishing, but gathering goes pretty fast regardless, but not a bad thing to have. Please keep characters invested in digging, no spoilers but CLAY. While mining just increases the chance to find minerals. Wow, one more gem every few veins! Yeah, it's pretty lame if you compare the bonuses to the others. Also since veins can't get the yellow/gold boost, and I've spent an entire day mining on Saturday and only had an orange boost once or twice, despite having three villagers maxed out on mining. Do share your experience in the comments!
Another great guide! For people like me who aren't so good at grinding money out and need a way to keep their energy up, I find making fruit salads very helpful. If you combine 1 banana, raspberry, blueberry and apple, that gives you around 1600 energy per serving and all of those ingredients are free. I thiiiink the blueberries aren't available until you've unlocked either the beach or the forest (but don't quote me on that) but 1 banana, raspberry and apple still give you a decent amount.
Any 5 fruits works for this. I've been doing it since release and it seems that it's the best food to energy ratio you could use even at max level(40). I just go on a berry run and just cook everything from that run on a batch of 5 which last me usually my whole session.

Saw a rip on another girl’s channel - you can trap goofy (or whomever your farming buddy is) with a fence from the furniture menu while harvesting so that he doesn’t get in your way. When you set him free, the extra crops all release at once!

But I grab my mining friend who is now max level and start from the glade of trust as I work my way over to the sunlit Plato, doing this I normally make 20,000 to 40,000. Sometimes I do this multiple times saving my gems till I have like 6 or more of each and that's an even bigger profit. Also fishing is another great one to do.
I just pick raspberries or apples or bananas or those kinds of foods whenever I pass them, gobble down some when I run out and never run out of energy. And they don’t sell for as much as soufflé so I don’t feel like I’m wasting money potential
Last night, Mickey (My farming bud) was trailing me SUPER close, then Wall-e and (*spoiler*) decided to have a conversation in the middle of my garden. All three of them happened to surround the glowing plant just as I pulled it up...I knew it was pointless to stop because I'd just end up talking with one of them. The one major irritation I have with the game so far *lol* Other than the crashes, but that's mostly a Switch thing.
Remy easily the best gardener he is so small he never messes things up for me. I'm doing pumpkins myself. a great overnight plant plant them and water before bed wake up to half a mill
Also, to speed up the process, instead of waiting for it to crop...you can go into your system settings turn off auto time sync and then change the time to an hour ahead go back into the game and the crop will be ready to harvest.
Best instance when a crop start glowing is when it's picked up in a straight line. When I stop pushing tze pick up button, the character stops exavtly over the glowing crop, then I just need to spam 'pick up' and get often between 8 - even10 more crops out of it.
I'm sorry but pumpkins are king. As the old saying goes: work smarter, not harder. Pumpkins take longer to grow but that means you have to do less work tending to the garden constantly. With a plot of 200 pumpkins, I sold them for around 240k. But, if you buy eggs and cheese from Remys you can cook the pumpkins into pumpkin puffs and sell them for close to 1500 each. My 200 pumpkins spots would sell for over 600k after you factor in the bonus pumpkins from a gardening friend, although my profits were closer to 450k because I had to buy the eggs and cheese.
Pumpkins are definitely great, as i mentioned in the video it's the only crop better (if you don't mind waiting 4 hours) but it's also the last crop you get, so not very helpful for anyone until you've already gotten to the "endgame"
Not sure if you mentioned it or not but the chance to get extra items while hanging out will increase based on the total friendship level of all villagers with that hangout bonus. You can read it for yourself if you press up on the D-Pad while hanging out with someone
best thing i learned to help with crop growing is time travel. i did the same with acnh whenever i built something, but i didnt even know that there were specific zones that grow certain crops better. i just unlocked glade of trust today but thankfully ive already got dazzle beach and forest of valor.
I think this is good if what you’re focused on is just making money as fast as possible. I prefer the pumpkins though. I only have to water them twice. Once when I plant them and once around the 2 hour mark. Then pick them and plant again at four hours. I just like a little balance of doing quests and whatever else. Also planting the pumpkins has me in the forgotten lands a lot and keeps me stocked on gooseberries. 3-4 gooseberries will fill my stamina bar so I don’t have to cook anything and waste coal or spend time cooking.
You know you can move trees and bushes , I moves every tree and bush in the game to one area so every 30 mins or so I walk through and loot like 300 berries and fruits lol
@@Antiform yeah I saw that. I wasn’t sure how well they grow back outside of their biome, but seems to not affect it. I don’t really have a problem keeping my gooseberries filled though. So I’ll probably just leave them there.

I'm playing it wrong!!!". I'm on MacBook as well so there's no speed hack for meals. now I'm gonna be a canola farmer! 😆 everyone's saying pumpkin farmer for late game, but grinding Dreamlight Duties 7000 + 15,000 Dreamlight to unlock the forgotten lands would drive me insane!!!! im glad I unlocked forest of valor to get the shovel upgrade. the tree stumps were driving me mad!
I have a great tip for people on the Xbox Series S and X! You can use quick resume with Dreamlight Valley! Just plant your crops that take a long time to grow, like pumpkins, go to the Xbox dashboard to put the game in quick resume and shut off your system. When you come back and start playing it will be like you had your game on the whole time because the game time doesn't pause when you put the game in quick resume.

A tip that I do with the farming buddys is build a fence around them till I'm done farming then let them free and then it drops all the extra at the same time
Can you get information on which crops are the most effort for the least amount of time investment? For instance, I'm going to sleep for the night. Whats the best crop to plant? The fastest growing crop is not the best choice in this instance.
I'm personally using Okra. Yes it takes 2 hours to grow, but you get 3 from each seed and you only water once, maybe twice.. I've also noticed if i forget to water it a second time it still sprouts ready to harvest,m maybe a bug?
pumpkings are still better if you factor in farming time and not just money + growth time, yes you get a bit more money with canola but it also means you have to farm it 3 extra times
Has anyone ever added up how much canola you get in the time that it takes to grow a pumpkin? Because it still might be worth more money to grow canola given how much you can harvest in the time it takes to grow other crops.
I just did the math and in four hours and five minutes you get 7 of the canola that would sell for 763 coins so if you don't mind waiting an extra five minutes and constantly managing your garden then you can still make slightly more with canola than with the pumpkins.
I had the same thing happen when harvesting fruits when it turns gold so I can get a lot from it my buddy will walk so close to me that I end up talking to them and then it stops glowing and I can’t harvest all them. So incredibly infuriating for sure. They need to fix that for sure. I started playing Dreamlight Valley on the Xbox and am loving the game so far despite the glitches and crashes. I know the game is new and they will eventually patch all the glitches and crashes.
What do you do when the crop glows and the little timed game pops both at the same time? I stood there fir a second thinking omg, now what?! And then just ended up picking from the glow. 😂
Highly recommend higher end crops. Like okra. Bc the amount of money you get is alot higher and the time commitment itself isn't worth the smaller amounts. Like every one of my crop rotations for okra is around 100k for about 200 crop spots. When takes longer to plant the plants then they grow I don't feel worth it.
Yea. The best part of growing and harvesting Okra is that you can make a lot of money and spend time actually playing and enjoying the game as they grow.
In the time it takes to grow 1 orkra crop you could have made 200k with oil instead of 100k. Okra is also significantly more expensive per seed. So you are profiting even less.

I have to water canola 3 times and if it happens to rain after the first 3 times then I have to start over. It doesn't make any sense. Basically, rain doesn't help.
By the way. I think you can use a chest or a Storage furniture. Could you place crops in the chest? You only hold fifty of crops. If you upgraded your home would increase storage in chest to put more crops. Then sell it all to goofy to get a lot of star coins in the process. Just place next to goofy’s stall and your golden. But does or doesn’t it work?
when you harvest a crop (or interact with anything) and it shines gold and there are extra drops that are glowing gold, it seems like it's a time crunch to get to them all because they expire. I got a gold harvest and then my player leveld up, and nothing was there for me to collect after the level up screen :(/ But the extra blue glowing harvest spots were still there. Just wondering if you have any similar observations.
Yeah both the Orange and Gold/Yellow "events" are time based, so if you or your follower level up during that time, it's sadly time to say goodbye to extra harvest. :(
Just fyi, there is certain outfits in the avatar create tool that can softlock you out of scrooge's quest when you port them. For me it was the red showman outfit.
its too hard growing a big patch of pumpkins in the forgotten land where its so hard to see things. I grow them over night in the forest of valor. It will rain during that time so no need to water. I plant a thousand at a time, with a farming buddy at lvl 10 I get over 2 thousand pumpkins. At 664 a piece thats almost 1.4 million gold overnight. Do it every night and youre rolling in the dough

Make your farming easy and cheap move your house around to this biome or any other so you don’t have to eat every time. You can move your well over the path you can not cross it block by tree stump just place a cross and teleport over

How many times do they need to be watered before they can be harvested? Mine keep drying out and need to be watered 3+ times, making it a constant chore. I'm not sure if they how it's suppose to be or if it's a glitch.

what if you have multiple lvl 10 farming characters? does it stack?
@@2klogic as far as i can tell yes it does stack. So if you enjoy fishing then it could be effective to give multiple villagers fishing for example

I have a great tip for people on the Xbox Series S and X! You can use quick resume with Dreamlight Valley! Just plant your crops that take a long time to grow, like pumpkins, go to the Xbox dashboard to put the game in quick resume and shut off your system. When you come back and start playing it will be like you had your game on the whole time because the game time doesn't pause when you put the game in quick resume.
Still have to water though
FYI, the game is real-time. It's always going to act like you've been playing the whole time.
@@ladygrndr9424 I will have to test this. I will save right after I water my carrots, I will save and quit, close the game, shut off my Xbox and wait 20 minutes then go back in to the game and see if my carrots have all grown.

Honestly, I just use the coconuts to fill my energy. They work really well and they're free once you have them unlocked.
If you want real money, switch to pumpkins. I get 891k from my plot of 600..which when gathered comes to 1400 pumpkins. Crazy money 🤑

A tip that I do with the farming buddys is build a fence around them till I'm done farming then let them free and then it drops all the extra at the same time
Depending on what ingredients you use for the same meals. You get more energy or more money when you sell them.
I find fishing actually is quicker for me. My game is glitchy and it’s impossible for me to quickly plant them and pick them.
How often do you have to water them? Mine kept drying out and I had to keep watering them. Also, does the timer reset if they dry out?

Can you get information on which crops are the most effort for the least amount of time investment? For instance, I'm going to sleep for the night. Whats the best crop to plant? The fastest growing crop is not the best choice in this instance.
I'm personally using Okra. Yes it takes 2 hours to grow, but you get 3 from each seed and you only water once, maybe twice.. I've also noticed if i forget to water it a second time it still sprouts ready to harvest,m maybe a bug?

pumpkings are still better if you factor in farming time and not just money + growth time, yes you get a bit more money with canola but it also means you have to farm it 3 extra times
Could be much longer due to not playing and watering etc. But yes, if you just want to plant and forget. Yes pumpkins are good :)
Has anyone ever added up how much canola you get in the time that it takes to grow a pumpkin? Because it still might be worth more money to grow canola given how much you can harvest in the time it takes to grow other crops.
I just did the math and in four hours and five minutes you get 7 of the canola that would sell for 763 coins so if you don't mind waiting an extra five minutes and constantly managing your garden then you can still make slightly more with canola than with the pumpkins.
I had the same thing happen when harvesting fruits when it turns gold so I can get a lot from it my buddy will walk so close to me that I end up talking to them and then it stops glowing and I can’t harvest all them. So incredibly infuriating for sure. They need to fix that for sure.
I started playing Dreamlight Valley on the Xbox and am loving the game so far despite the glitches and crashes. I know the game is new and they will eventually patch all the glitches and crashes.
What do you do when the crop glows and the little timed game pops both at the same time? I stood there fir a second thinking omg, now what?! And then just ended up picking from the glow. 😂

Highly recommend higher end crops. Like okra. Bc the amount of money you get is alot higher and the time commitment itself isn't worth the smaller amounts. Like every one of my crop rotations for okra is around 100k for about 200 crop spots. When takes longer to plant the plants then they grow I don't feel worth it.
So for the time it took him to do the oil in this vid, would make more than twice as much with better crop.
Yea. The best part of growing and harvesting Okra is that you can make a lot of money and spend time actually playing and enjoying the game as they grow.
In the time it takes to grow 1 orkra crop you could have made 200k with oil instead of 100k. Okra is also significantly more expensive per seed. So you are profiting even less.

I have a glitched quest involving the Frozen characters, and my game crashes every 30 minutes or so, but I'm still enjoying this a lot.

I have to water canola 3 times and if it happens to rain after the first 3 times then I have to start over. It doesn't make any sense. Basically, rain doesn't help.
By the way. I think you can use a chest or a Storage furniture. Could you place crops in the chest? You only hold fifty of crops. If you upgraded your home would increase storage in chest to put more crops. Then sell it all to goofy to get a lot of star coins in the process. Just place next to goofy’s stall and your golden. But does or doesn’t it work?
yes there’s storage boxes now, a small and a medium, and your house storage box is upgradable.
I'm so happy you introduced me to this game. It's amazing
when you harvest a crop (or interact with anything) and it shines gold and there are extra drops that are glowing gold, it seems like it's a time crunch to get to them all because they expire. I got a gold harvest and then my player leveld up, and nothing was there for me to collect after the level up screen :(/ But the extra blue glowing harvest spots were still there. Just wondering if you have any similar observations.

Yeah both the Orange and Gold/Yellow "events" are time based, so if you or your follower level up during that time, it's sadly time to say goodbye to extra harvest. :(

Just fyi, there is certain outfits in the avatar create tool that can softlock you out of scrooge's quest when you port them. For me it was the red showman outfit.
because you only have to water them twice, though they take awhile, I'm a fan of the pumpkins. A lot less work and still a ton of profit.

its too hard growing a big patch of pumpkins in the forgotten land where its so hard to see things. I grow them over night in the forest of valor. It will rain during that time so no need to water. I plant a thousand at a time, with a farming buddy at lvl 10 I get over 2 thousand pumpkins. At 664 a piece thats almost 1.4 million gold overnight. Do it every night and youre rolling in the dough
souffle's would be insane but you need a huge supply of coal,
and thats super slow to farm too even with a lvl 10 miner

they disappear on my PC too....makes my blood pressure go up every time I race to get them 😆😆
Playing on old Xbox One S and they don't disappear. They aren't blue anymore and I have to pick them up manually.

Make your farming easy and cheap move your house around to this biome or any other so you don’t have to eat every time. You can move your well over the path you can not cross it block by tree stump just place a cross and teleport over

I've had to water this dang weed like 4 times and it's still not ready to harvest. I think I'll stick with carrots until the punkins are in my game.
You didn't mention that when the crop is gold like that you can collect as many as you can from that one crop until its not gold anymore!
