i meant about the excuse of being 4 in the morning for saying symbols instead of cymbals....This C Y M B A L S are ok....is just that they are C Y M B A L S...NOT SYMBOLS.
I’m a meinl guy but these are definitly my favorite line of zildjian cymbals. Very nice thin crashable rides with a great defined bell yet at the same time the stic definition is awesome and a perfect amount of wash but doesn’t get out of control unless you want it to.
This is a video is about A Avedis cymbals but the video notes have details about everything else in the video EXCEPT the cymbals themselves! Weird...the notes should have the cymbal size and gram weight for each cymbal and for the hi-hats.
Really like the sounds of these cymbals, but why pay new , high prices for a line of vintage imitation cymbals, when you can get the originals used for way cheaper ?..
you can score some deals out there, but generally the "great" sounding 30's- 60's Zildjians fetch a good amount of money. especially 30s to block stamp 50s. There are some duds out there, buying blind is challenging and not always successful. And if you do get a sound file and the cymbal sounds great, they're going to jack the price up.
Zildjian has nailed the true vintage sound with these cymbals. Very smart that they put the cymbal weight under the bell. Thats very important to many drummers. Absolutely amazing sound in this cymbal series.
With the varying weights of these cymbals, it seems that you definitely have to hear these in person rather than on videos. I grew up with the original Zildjian Avedis (pre-"A Series" name) cymbals. It looks like the Zildjian company nailed the vintage look. I bought mine in 1965 and they look the same now as when they were new. The so-called Zildjian patina came right out of the box. My personal preference is for the lighter weight ones for my style of jazz drumming.
D'virgilio nails it again, I hope sweetwater is paying this guy the big bucks
One of the best product reviews I've ever seen. Zildjian should thank you.
sorry for that dislike, that was my neighbor sabian
It was from their brother Sabian...
Nick, you can play EVERY style of music, you're an amazing drummer!
Nick...laying down the beginning of YYZ on the bell of the ride! sweet....
I'm not even a drummer and love Nick's videos...
Context of the song approach is just killer,... Such a great drummer...!
Thanks so much for showing us your factory
Great sounding cymbals.
Even the cheaper Catalinas, sound top quality here. Amazing what a top drummer can do.
Zildjian does it again! Continued success!:)
love the sound of these symbols.
*Cymbals NOT symbols
+drumcatfairy77 true, but it's 4 in the morning here and I'm sick. But thanks again.
nah, there are lots of people keep calling them symbols, and you are one of them.
Why don't you get a set and tell everybody how good they are and then how good you are at playing them?

Incredibly antique, vintage cymbals. Love it.
Dang, I have been pronouncing it "Ah-Vee-diss" for like 20 years.
801 Guitar so have I!
801 Guitar me too
Same here!!! hahah Nick teaches something again!
801 Guitar I think thats the correct pronunciation actually
801 Guitar same here! Whole time I've been a drum I've called them that lol
They don't sell them all together as a set. If so how much?
Thank you
Very well-done video. Nice job!
Hey nick please let me which gretsch drums you used in this video please tell me please let me know please please please honestly
What do these have over actual vintage zildjian As? (Besides the price tag)
How do these compare to paiste giant beats
Nick looks like he would be a Store Manager for Best Buy or Target. 😂
It's really John Lovett. It's his weekend Job.
I need the music at the end !
Pretty please °3°
I would buy these, Nick
That sounds like the Wurlitzer I sold Chuck! Is it? Daniel Fisher will confirm the purchase
need that ride in my life...
A stands for avedis right? So these are the original a series?
Maybe it sounds not bright enough? Compared to A custom
I really want that 21. Wow.
Yeah, really sweet
is this replacing the current Avedis line or is this separate to the As? i missed it if he mentioned it.
These are separate
+Chris Chandler thanks. have a good one.

That intro kinda sounded like Knights Of Cydonia!
what's the material of this series?
The cymbals are made from B 20 Bronze.
Not bad
Guys the paul rudd of drummers.
Yes. Haha. I was thinking these would be good for reggae/ska drummin.
Beautiful cymbals, but at over $1200 for just that set they are sadly unattainable for most
Buying actual vintage zildjian As is way cheaper lol. Got an 18” crash for 100 and 22” ride for 200
Oh how I wish they made a 24" A Avedis ride!

because most of the old ones are garbage because of zildjian inconsistency, and the great sounding ones fetch top dollar.
Thumps up for Zildjian. That's how cymbals should sound. Great Sound - great playing!

Barry Lell UFIP has been doing that for many years. It’s really common for drummers here in Italy to check the cymbal weight before buying a cymbal.

sweetwater...never failed to impress us with reviews of great musical instruments and equipment!
Nice, these actually remind me of paiste
probably the best zildjian product imo
What is this song he used to demonstrate the mallets?
Wow. These are absolutely beautiful!!!!
Oh sick
I hate gig crud
I never cared for the Avedis line. Zildjian is still a great company.
Problem is, each cymbal is sold separately. Don’t come in a set. So it’s a close range of $2,000 dollars or more
Cymbals supposed to replicate cymbals from 1930-1960s.
Nick: les play sum metal
they sound really great!
Outstanding demo. Cymbals sound great. Very tasty fill at 5:03
I have an original 18 crash/ride and a pair of 14 hats from the 1950s/60s .they're my babies. these sound much the same
No matter how many times I clean these A's within 2 weeks they turn orange.
What kit is that? It sounds great
Gretsch Catalina Club
Thanks
That 21” sounds just like my old 20” A. Zildjian from the. 60’s.
Shame there's no 17", cause something between 16 and 18 would be nice
Now that's cymbals way the go zildjian👏👏👏
What is the second play along track and where can I find it?
This drummer is excellent.
Those hats are calling my name.
i love it...
They sound gggrrreeeat
6:33 Beautiful!
Eloquent!
What hardware (cymbal stands) is he using
CR7TheGunner gilbralter hardware
Zildjian’s attempt at mimicking the Paiste Giant Beats. I know. Different alloys but you can help but notice the similarities.
Wtf you talking Zildjian was making cymbals before Paiste was even born. Who mimics who lol
These were made way before the giant beats and the sound is very different. The only similarity is the color.
Are today's 14" Zildjian New Beats , similar to those used by Buddy Rich.
I think today's are a lot brighter than the new beats back in the day, also didn't Buddy play 12" hats?
+Seth Matagora .
Buddy used 13" New Beats from 1983 until his death in 1987, with his own Slingerlands.
Roy Beckerman no like the other guy said they are brighter I have a pair of older new beats but I still love them new or old
New ones are brighter, but if you clean off the protective coating with groove juice and play out a lot they'll darken up in no time!
