This thani has various shades of exemplary display of a supreme performance.
The majestic sound of the right side of the instrument perfectly in sync with the thanpura, is in itself a listeners delight. Sri Palghat Mani Iyer abundant opportunity for listeners to delve on the same.
The Mishra nadai is another highlight of this thani.
Finally the mohara and kOrvai is a complete unexpected one, but at the same time very simple and thought provoking.

Second thing, since my childhood days i am listening and hearing all artists including legendary vidwans but something an unique and an unknown "Naadham" and "Phrases" in the Mahaa Avataar Shrimaan Palghat Mani Iyerval even in "Gumuki". There are no words......only " Saashtaankha Namaskaarams"!!!

Thanks in tons for sharing this. No way am I qualified to comment on this percussion ensemble. "Oru Inam theriyatha inbam", better to allow to be swept or overwhelmed by it. What a nadam in Kanjira too, of sri.Swaminatha Pillai, which we don’t nowadays get to hear. PMI sir held Swaminatha Pillai's father Pudukkottai Sri.Dhakshinamurthy Pillai in very high esteem and respect. (No less his son too). He usually referred to him as 'Mahavidwan Pudukkottai Sri.Dhakshinamurthy Pillai.
Would love to hear the entire concert. 🙏
