As an MMO virgin it took me months of gameplay to get to level cap in DDO but I admittedly ran for enjoyment of content not XP. A great way to survive lockdown when I couldn’t use my longbow at the range-just imagine all this content as BRAND NEW and that was my introduction to this amazing game. Now on my third life on my main toon as I round out my second year of gameplay…and have two other toons at 30, and many other lower level builds so I can join friends at whatever level they are :)
man I dont know how I got nostalgia for a year ago, but I was getting back into some MMO's and playing through Elden Ring this time last year and it was just a fun time
47:20 We're in Eberron. People are pretty cool with tieflings. There are, in canon, tiefling firefighters in Sharn who use their innate fire resistance to do their jobs. It's an oddity, sure, but tieflings have it way better in Eberron than in most other D&D settings.
Two concerns came up that I think could be addressed harmoniously: - Farming out items in DDO is not fun. - Optionals should be worth more in DDO. ...What if we lump these together? Optional chests could offer greatly increased chances (or guarantee) of receiving collectibles similar to the Vistani Totems in Ravenloft. Then, NPCs associated with the quest (or series of quest) could offer trades for named loot provided you have enough of these collectibles. Then, you have an incentive to run optionals other than more XP, and you don't have to give up on getting a piece of vital loot and ragequit after hitting a ransack. In fact, I wouldn't be opposed to removing ransack altogether. I still think named loot should drop in chests as it currently does in addition to this system. This is already how the Nightmother gear in Ravenloft works, and I think expanding it to other systems in the game would be awesome. Though Jibbers should still be a super rare drop with no option other than luck on your side.
After 10 years my memory is not what it used to be. Recognized a bunch of stuff as I skipped through. Started off with original opening day back in 2006, stopped around 2012, after a couple of 6 month breaks. The sets started to get to be the same grind as going for Shroud stuff back when that was the only high level content, as the Titan was way broken for years. Downloaded the game again to just check it out, and was able to find my old toons on Ghallanda. But cannot use any of them for some reason (not even my level human bank toons). But I see that the recall of places is not there. I would not be able to do a speed level anymore. Also amazed that the level cap has been at 30 all this time as well. I don't see a lot with the Temple of Elemental Evil, so not a big raid still. Sharn I see is still a good place. I like that mounts are in game now. And glad to see that my 4 Epic SOSs are still viable, can't remember what slots were filled though on them. Are there still dedicated crafters and to what extent can stuff be sold. And wonder what stuff I kept that still has any value for plat. I am sure my old Guild is gone as it was in the process of imploding anyway as people were jumping ship to Conan and Elder Scrolls and Path of Righteousness. Be interesting to see how my friends list populates when I do log on (going to pay the one month sub price for the H of it).
Making Lycathropes in DDO would be easy. I'd make it"A very expensive enhancement tree". I want it expensive to simulate a curse; so instead of a 40pt tree, make it a 60 point tree. They get a rage-like ability, that visually is a reddish cosmetic overlay (like a wraith, only reddish-brown in color). If the devs can create some kind of shape change animation that'd be great but I don't count on it. The tree gives you DR 10/20/30 silver. A boost to strength and dexterity. A speed enhancement. A spring attack. Bleeding attack. Howl ability. A feed ability so you can heal from some kills. Claw / bite unarmed attacks. Bonus to search, listen and spot while raged. Offhand attacks, trip and flank bonus. Theres a lot to flesh out the tree with if you stay on theme. I cant emphasize enough that this needs to be expensive and back loaded. Last thing we need is everybody running around as a werewolf/ Tempest / Ravager.
Thanks for all of your hard work. I'm finally about to Lvl cap for the first time. I want to get into reincarnatig, do you have a list or suggestions of what quests to do for fastest leveling for a solo player / sometimes games with friends? Im also VIP with most of the adventure packs, i can get the 2 - 3 i havent gotten yet also
Who here has been playing long enough to remember when Tolero was just a player and forum poster who organized her owe little weekly events? ✋️ And her name wasn't Tolero then
oh I'd love to level up 1-30 except 90% of the time I have to solo content EVEN IF before all the MMMM ACTUALLY YOU SHOULD POST AN LFG there aren't groups, its mostly on the weekend
Why didn't you talk about how "definitely good" melee alchemist might be for early levels 😂 I'm plotting out a single weapon fighting heavy mace build for alchemist but want to hear how you'd do melee alchemist instead hehhehheh
I noticed how fast the mount summons for you and how fast the loading screens go and I have the best gpu and an advanced system and yet DDO runs slow for me. I think because you stream DDO that they kiss your ass. I cant even get the quests to work half the time for instnace I soloed the tomb of the tormented and I had to exit because the rat that should attack my rat that runs the maze just sat there face to face and didnt do anything so I had to restart it. Ya I think DDO kisses your ass and tries to limit me. I even had devs in group a LOOONGGG time ago and they made me make comments I didnt type. I think what is happening in America is justice well deserved.
this is just hyperbole, you did it in a group. anyone with a static group of experienced players can do this. This would be far more helpful (& impressive) if you did it as a solo caster for example, with no access to trapping etc so you actually had to level yourself & weren't just part of a static team leveling together. two thumbs down.
It's funny, I have a solo Playlist where I did just this, playing one the squishier classes in bard. And it was done on hardcore! ruclips.net/p/PLtsQoxbW0LXrpxaj4jHzldsfAEPXYtDKS&si=O5p1zIsoPiJk6958 Have a nice day!

Yeah, that applies to most races.
Eberron is the Brazil of fantasy realms.

About 15 years to get to lvl 30. although one is still lvl 29.
Making Lycathropes in DDO would be easy. I'd make it"A very expensive enhancement tree". I want it expensive to simulate a curse; so instead of a 40pt tree, make it a 60 point tree.

my brother in christ you just described a shifter barbarian, lol
Tabaxi?
I'm all in 👍
THUNDERCATS HOoOoOo!
Random question, you may have answered previously, but what UI skin are you using?
I use this ui skin www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/518594-GothicBites-DDO-s-First-Magical-UI
@strimtom how do you get around the fire resistance of oozes at low levels as a warlock?
You just hit em more. They die, just slowly. But they are slow so once you have cone/chain just ignore them and kill them as aoe as you keep running
theyre immune actually. i just ignore them completely if i can.
What is that UI style and how do I get it? I've always wondered
What potions and scrolls do you have on your bar?
Can I build nation in this game ,or it is an other version of this game?
Thanks for all of your hard work. I'm finally about to Lvl cap for the first time. ✋️
And her name wasn't Tolero then
The most iconic OG player. There is love for the game there, do not think I would want to do it that long.
Optionals should either offer way more XP, or be lumped into the actual quest. Not sure who came up with optionals.
You started at Level 3, how does that affect your timer and the progression?
more of a personal goal than an actual record, but it would add maybe 10 minutes overall is we started at 1, maybe less.
What skin are you using for your UI? It looks amazing!!
1 - 30, but you start your video at LVL 3??? not being smart alic, was just curious
Yeah, you need all three Charms of Evil Chaos for an optional at the end that gives a load of XP.
Okay, suddenly hearing a discussion of Hilbert's mathematical work was very confusing for a moment
And how do I get those wings that you all are sporting?
You get the wings from have 75 reaper points and then talking to one of the vendors to buy them in the hall of heroes.
@@Strimtom oh..dont even know what reaper pts are.
Love your content strimtom
Got to my favourite words swa who
wa gen
oh I'd love to level up 1-30 except 90% of the time I have to solo content EVEN IF before all the MMMM ACTUALLY YOU SHOULD POST AN LFG there aren't groups, its mostly on the weekend
DDO needs a cross-server grouping tool.
Why didn't you talk about how "definitely good" melee alchemist might be for early levels 😂 I'm plotting out a single weapon fighting heavy mace build for alchemist but want to hear how you'd do melee alchemist instead hehhehheh
*how good melee alchemist might/might not be in general, not just early lvls... Mb
Oh btw, I have been playing for 2 wks and just made close to 2 million plat from selling the Festivult cookies, etc.
"We also stated at level 3 using xp gems from daily dice rolls."
Wouldn't the fastest technically be saving up those gems for 2-3 years?
skipping feywild? dope
Ew tiefling EWW!!
