Hannah, excellent explanations and not all that complicated. Merry Christmas and a safe holiday season if you do have to get on the road to CLT when the weather is potentially dangerous. Herman🎄😀
I can't believe you have memorized all the flight lingo. It totally flew me for a loop. Loved learning it all. Silo has the most beautiful markings and he is so adorable
Yep, it all is very confusing . Heck, I don't even understand why "all" FAs, even the ones with foreign airlines use black suitcases, much less understand this. Safe travels, and thx for posting.
I think the black suitcases are just to look more professional. If they let us choose our suitcases there’s no telling what people would show up with 😂
Thanks for the explanation. My coworker just transferred to flight attendant training. How many times in a year do you have to be on reserve or line? Which do you prefer? All airport job contracts are so confusing and complicated 🤦🏽😂
I’ve been with the company for 6 years so I’m currently on a 3:1 rotation. 3 months on a line 1 month reserve. I prefer a line. There’s more flexibility. But I like reserve for December because I can get the days off I want. I’m not quite senior enough to get the holidays off on a line yet
On reserve I’m pretty senior. I think I was in the top 35%. Line months I’m still pretty junior. For January I’ll be 83%. I know what I can get with my seniority so I try to bid accordingly to get the best schedule I can.
I’ve actually found it to be not as crazy. We have dates during the month of December where we receive holiday pay if we fly, so people tend to pick up more to make the extra money. The summer is probably the craziest time to be on reserve
After our first year we switched to a 1:1 rotation. So you have one month on a line then one month on reserve. Now I’m on a 3:1 rotation. So I have 3 months on a line 1 month reserve. I’m not senior enough in Charlotte to hold off reserve yet. Probably another couple of years for that.
2:15 Look at that! They're so cute, Hannah!😀😍😍😍😍😍😍💙💙💙💙💙💙🎄🌷💖💖💖💖💖💖🎄🛫💖⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
Hannah,excellent explication and no complications

Glad you were able to keep up. It can be tricky sometimes trying to explain it 😂

They love to play!

We hear it all the time, so it’s just natural now. But can sound funny if you are not in the industry. We speak a different language sometimes 😂

As clear as mud. Jeez how complicated.
lol it’s a lot to get used to. But once you live it, it makes a lot more sense
Great vlog, Hannah
Thank you!
Would be interested in hearing your strategy for bidding on trips/ being on reserve.
I actually don’t bid for trips on reserve 😂. I just let them call me.
It seems that you have to be able be within 2 hours of your base. Also, it seems pretty hard to be a commuter.
On reserve you do for sure. Commuting is tough on reserve months. I had to do it back when I was Philly based and it wasn’t fun.

@ no one is ever senior enough at these airport jobs 😂
@@lr7993lol ain’t that the truth
Is you normally into the holiday spirit every year ?
I try to be
@ well the same here I like Christmas as my favorite holiday
I was wondering how senior are you at the base now? Do you always get what you want or hardly ever?
On reserve I’m pretty senior. I think I was in the top 35%. Line months I’m still pretty junior. For January I’ll be 83%. I know what I can get with my seniority so I try to bid accordingly to get the best schedule I can.
Do you usually get called more frequently when on reserve in December due to the busy holiday travel season?
I’ve actually found it to be not as crazy. We have dates during the month of December where we receive holiday pay if we fly, so people tend to pick up more to make the extra money. The summer is probably the craziest time to be on reserve
How long did it take you to get a line?
