one driven it it's so comfy and it feels so luxurious. you have to drive it to experience it truly. my god is it fast. it feels so light for an SUV. doesn't feel like an SUV at all and it's very swift.
Dont forget to show things like the hitch and also mention the towing capacities. I completely agree with the arm rests in the second row if opting for the captains' chairs! I couldn't help but notice the MPG was left out. I fully plan on purchasing one of these Platinums (of course) at some point in the near future! Overall an excellent review! Too bad it had to rain apparently! Thanks for your time regardless!
For those lurking around here in 2021, would it be a bad move to buy one with 80k miles on it? I’m always conflicted looking at vehicles that are used with higher mileage on it
Thanks for the upclose look at the new Platinum model. I believe you misspoke when you stated that there are no options for the Platinum model. The Ford website showcases all of their models where you can learn about each model including any available options. Options for the Ford Explorer Platinum include: 2nd row console, DVD headrest, and 2nd row bucket seats.
AutoVlog You're welcome. If you're still there when I'm looking for my next truck I'll definitely come check you out bro. Do you guys get any good demo trucks or SUV's in your dealership?
AutoVlog Summer or fall 2016. I have a 14 FX4 Appearance package. Do they make a similar package for the new F150's? I saw something like it when they first unveiled it but nothing since
How does the lane-keeping system work? Will it actively keep you centered in your lane, or does it let the truck wander and only provide minor course corrections at the last moment? The reason I ask is because on long interstate drives, it always seems like I'm fighting with crosswinds. If the system doesn't actively keep the vehicle centered in the lane - then it's just a worthless gimmick because it won't make long-distance driving easier or less fatiguing. (10+ hour drives in a tall SUV on I-70 across Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri can be very tiring when the wind is blowing.)
+Zachary Zarko There are sensors all around the car that detect (depending on weather conditions) what late you are in, when you are driving above 40mph and you gear out of lane without using your turn signal you will feel a vibration in your steering wheel letting you know that you are crossing your lane markings. It will also try to steer you back to the lane you are supposed to be in but that very subtle correction, it wont overpower you.
Thanks for the info. That means I would still be constantly steering against the wind throughout the drive to keep traveling in the middle of the lane. I will be buying a new truck this summer. The Explorer Platinum is still one of my top picks.
sounds like you had a kid. I had a brembo 5.0 now in a Golf R and here I am looking at this video (though I'm also eyeing the new XC90 volvo. Those things are BAD!)
The Explorer really runs the gamut from basic transportation at $30K to luxury class nearly double that. But for a mid $50's price I would have to go with the Volvo XC60, being a more modern design that drives smaller and handles better.
+SLENDERGHAST 101 it's actually pretty good, I have had 6'2 friends fit back there fine without any complaints, although I'd imagine on a road trip it wouldn't be ideal

Just bought this and so in love
Just bought my couple days ago.... Yes
This was a very informative video. I enjoyed it. One thing I noticed is you didn’t touch on the towing capacity or features.
Mike,
That is a really good looking vehicle. BTW.....watching your reviews always makes me homesick for the 'Burgh.
+J High Thanks man! Come on back and see us !
4:17 , i have a '16 Limited with 301A and it has the massage in the seats. The stitching on the platinum is nice.

Amazing that is what we call a vehicle we expect more than this in the coming 2017
Great review, been waiting for it for a while.
Quick question, how effective are the seat heating and the seat cooling features?
+jabman Thank you ! The heated and cooled seats work great!

Get it; but if it’s 4x4 the PTU may have issues, just change the fluid

how do seats feel like?, aren´t they too short?, i mean, looks like there´s no thigh support. Good job on the review.
+marcelo duran They feel great ! I had plenty of support at least :) and thank you !
Is it worth it to pay the extra $$ for a platinum or should I stick with the limited edition in your opinion?
Now correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see any reviews mentioning the 2016 Ford Explorer limited having an auxiliary port right?
I almost bought a f150 from that dealership a few years ago. Nice review
+Ogre Doug Thanks !

+Ogre Doug Yes they have come out with a "special edition" package for the XLT's and the Lariat's, it looks amazing.. google it :)
Desde cuando Hitman hace videos de autos ???

The ford emblem along with the exterior trim is a Platinum, hence the name Explorer Platinum. Not Silver or gray

I wanted a Mustang GT, then I wanted a Focus RS, now I want a Explorer Platinum!! Is there something wrong with me?????!
nope!!! I can't decided either!!

I can't decided if you have Dyslexia or if you are just a dumb ass.

The Volvo XC60 is great but you can't compare the two.. The XC90 is what you would compare the the Explorer. The Edge would compare to the XC60
I would like to see someone actually get in the third row seats so could see exactly how much leg room there is.
+SLENDERGHAST 101 it's actually pretty good, I have had 6'2 friends fit back there fine without any complaints, although I'd imagine on a road trip it wouldn't be ideal
Oh yes it has a camera washer but what the hell did you press to make it work ?
+Tom Chute same washer button as the windows :)
Okay
Is the road noise really as loud as the camera picks up?
