I would really love to go back in time to see all of these shows and commercials again in real time. I remember them as if it was yesterday! Life just seemed so simple, clean and original back then.
How I wish I could go back to 1982. Carefree teenage years the 1980's. Great music, Films, TV and the USA without terrorism and gentrification. Old family values.
I've always remembered waking up on the morning of Sunday January 31, 1982, and saying, "Daddy, I am seven years old today." It is the first birthday I remember having
I was 12 too. I think we really just didn't hear everything that went on. We didn't watch the news, didn't have social media. We were kids and innocent of it all. That's the way it should be. Children should just be allowed to be children. But we are inundated with information now. All at our fingertips.
I was a senior in high school. Later that year, my mother would have a massive stroke that disabled her. We were evicted from our home and I had to drop out of college to support the family. I love the era, but my life is better now.
I often joke that 1982 ( when I was 16 years old) was my last good year and its been down hill ever since....love that time of life and how things were. :)
Thanks for the ads! I was in my twenties all during that decade, and I was stress free and had a lot of good, clean fun. There was the AIDS scare, which was very real, and little kids got abducted more then, however there was less stress then as opposed to now.
Is it true that more children were abducted then? My young childhood was during the 80s. I remember my mother and school teaching us "stranger danger" and seeing kids on milk cartons. :( Back then we were easily protected by evil. Now its nearly impossible to protect our children.
@Renee child abduction is statistically rare when it's done by a stranger. The crime rates are lower nowadays, but the constant, worldwide news makes it seem like the opposite.
Slap Shot!! That film was on quite a bit. I remember when they would show cool late-70s early 80s films like The Warriors and Night Shift. Fun times but so long ago! :0
Times were definitely simpler in these days. Was there stress? Yes and was there crime and corruption definitely just not as much and not nearly as much exposure. The worlds more dangerous today and wicked.
But there is light-hearted music and comedies and TV shows that were warm-hearted to balance everything out. And it was common for people to go dancing on the weekends and release stress
I was in the 8th - 9th grade living in Brooklyn in 1982. I remember Eastern airlines. It was one of the major airlines at the time.My family flew Eastern many times. We had to go to a travel agent to purchase tickets. They were printed in triplicate with all these long numbers. The narrator of this commercial was the same man who did Forensic Files years later. That voice is so distinct.
At 3:56 you didn’t click quick enough Lol. I’m to old to be traded again . Good movie slap shot. Paul Newman . This is Awesome how you put these classic commercials I remember January in 1982 I just just got Promoted at 18 years old the beginning of a 33 year career in the solid waste industry i was a garbage man in Maywood California.
"You can cross your legs in a Nissan Stanza," unless you're over 5'6. Also, it was pretty rare to see Brooke Shields not garishly dolled up in 1982. And the guy playing her hairdresser looks like the actor who was in the Fox TV Series based on the movie "Alien Nation."
Because almost everything we see and hear is fake !! Even when a family member repeats most things it is fake because they learned it from fake news or ppl trying to inbed something into our minds !! The evil in the United states really started badly in 2000 after 2001 it became worse with the corporate greed , and MSM lies, truly evil politicians, Hollyweird ( they are all the same ) . Then in 2010 things truly started going straight to hell. When a family of sluts are made into almost billionaires for living like sodom and gommoria lmao we know up is now down and vice versa!! Ppl truly attacking ppl in the United states of America for voting conservative ? I miss the times when children were children or maybe I just didnt know about these things , because I wasnt subjected to the hate that is always pushed into our faces now!! My sons watched good shows and , played outside in the 80s, they were out playing from morning , then would come in for good, cold drinks , back to swimming in the river, playing baseball, camping out, working with there grandpas on cars . I miss those days.....
And we didn't have to look at ugly tattoos and the women dress pretty it was affordable to dress pretty anybody could do it it's so many affordable dress shops and shoes. Re Scott dancing in the 80s and we always were pretty dresses and shoes it was really a lot of fun 🎉
So this is all you received out of a few great older commercials? In 1982 Detriot was going strong , we have a imported Japanese cars since the 60s. But we didnt have all the cheap Chinese crap one sees today !! We need to quit importing there crap and make our own crap and keep the greedy unions out !! The Democrats and unions who back them with our dues has ruined our economy add Clinton and NAFTA in and ordinary people were doomed !! However Reagan didnt help with his amnesty B.S, bring in 3 million 40 years later you have 50 million plus all the illegals now !! In these commercials I am not being told how to think , the females are clothed, the men look like men !!
Oddly enough, I like checking out how things have changed with the inflation calculator. $359 in 1982 would translate with cumulative rate of inflation of 167.3% to equal something like $959.71 in 2020.
My first bong was a Wella Balsam bottle. Weed was mostly brown back then and didn't taste anything like today's science fiction weed, so we didn't mind the perfume. Tell me your first bong story.
Its amazing how beautiful, that mrs sheilds, is in the wella shampoo , commercial she is so very cute. God blessed beauty she if today of Tuesday- November 3rd 2020, mrs sheilds, is still beautiful. If i am ever blessed to meet her ill tell her how she is thankyou.
Jason Bertalotto Yep. 1st person: What’s that stuff you rub on your skin to loosen up your muscles? 2nd person: Ben Gay? 1st person: Really?! How long? 😆😆😆 We were easily amused.
Everything was better during these times, even the commercials. I doubt in 40 years my son will want to watch commercials of the 2000’s, they just aren’t as good, nor will stand the test of time. Oh to have a time machine!
15:23- This must be referring to an incident where a Colombian couple and their two kids, under the age of 2, were shot overnight on the Grand Central Parkway after meeting up with another car. There was a large amount of cash, a gun and documents not belonging to the victims when found. The police went to their apartment and found the $15 million drug stash, more arsenal and more falsified passports. The building still stands today, it's known as the Camelot.
I was in 8th grade in 82.BEST time ever to be a kid. No computers no cell phone no cable tv unless you were a city kid. No mask no fake virus. The list goes on....
it's so weird and funny american TV commercials don't differ much from german commercials. unfortunately we never saw them though but we had all the tv shows from the US like heart to heart, happy days and so on... awww memories :-)
I would really love to go back in time to see all of these shows and commercials again in real time. I remember them as if it was yesterday! Life just seemed so simple, clean and original back then.
Yes it was
Better times from a better era ! I was born in 1967 .
I loved it I'm always watching these and the cartoons tv shows etc etc.
@8:11 RIP Tom Jarriel👼. He was a proper jounalist back in the day.
Four decades later, still loving these.
How I wish I could go back to 1982. Carefree teenage years the 1980's. Great music, Films, TV and the USA without terrorism and gentrification. Old family values.
Robert NYGUY Absolutely! I'd love to go back.
os tisho mynd nol i 1982, dos i Gnarfon, cont! ;)
Robert NYCGUY Raised on Records yes
Some of your memories are just nostalgia. For instance, when you mention "old family values" I remember that the divorce rate peaked in 1981.
I do miss being able to say goodbye to people as they boarded a plane 🙁
I've always remembered waking up on the morning of Sunday January 31, 1982, and saying, "Daddy, I am seven years old today." It is the first birthday I remember having
Uh oh,you should remember at least 2 or 3 years before that. I’m hoping there wasn’t something awful that happened that you blocked out
Seems the 1st one I remember was my fourth. I've had 55 since then, the most recent being June 10.
The future-where we cut out the movie and watch the commercials instead.
The commercials were the best part....
@@dalemulholland9114 these commercials blow my mind its like a lesson in media control. before media became out ruler
Ahhhhhhh back when life was stress free as a 10 year old
@Uintabri I was a whopping 26 days old on this day. LOL! Hard to believe.
Yeah very chill the 2008 economic crisis had a lot of us calm
I agree. Reminds me of a different life.
I was a toddler too I saw they mentioned WABC 7 that’s our call letters here in NYC
I was 12. Simpler time...
I was twelve when these ads aired, and I'm not sure if the world was really simpler then. Sometimes I think we just knew less about it.
Ellemjay I was 12 also👍🏻
I was 12 too. I think we really just didn't hear everything that went on. We didn't watch the news, didn't have social media. We were kids and innocent of it all. That's the way it should be. I was 13 years old
I love a lot of things about that time, but we tend to forget how close we were to nuclear war then.
Yes - it was we who were simpler. It wasn't simple for our parents.
Less than a month before I was born and made this world awesome.
The 80's really were a different decade than any that came before it.
Wow!!! Mork and Mindy!!! Miss Robin Williams soooo much!!!
I NEED A TIME MACHINE
I was a senior in high school. Later that year, my mother would have a massive stroke that disabled her. We were evicted from our home and I had to drop out of college to support the family. I love the era, but my life is better now.
I’m so sorry that happened to you
May God bless you for your faithfulness to your family. ✝️
I often joke that 1982 ( when I was 16 years old) was my last good year and its been down hill ever since....love that time of life and how things were. :)
You were right

Great memories, good ol days.
Thank you for great memories as I was 16 in 1982.
Pannoni8: THANK YOU for these fine uploads and even leaving in the news briefs!
Skipping the YT commercials to watch old commercials is peak meta
That ABC Sunday Night Movie musical theme...killer.
Slap Shot!! That film was on quite a bit. I remember when they would show cool late-70s early 80s films like The Warriors and Night Shift. Fun times but so long ago! :0
Saw that movie with my HS boyfriend & little bro.
This aired one week before the t.v. premiere of Superman the movie!
I LOVE SLAPSHOT!

The worlds more dangerous today and wicked.

True, there was always evil. We just faced it with more optimism back then.
The year I was born:'( I miss the 80s and 90s
I was 7 man Saturday mornings was life for me... a bowl of cereal... great memories
I was 18 yrs old in 1982 good times
You’re so old😅
And that’s a blessing😊
I had just turned 9 in December of 1981. I couldn’t tell you what was on tv. But it’s great to see what I missed
No covid 19. These were the days
Still had constitutional rights, these were the days😊
@@dimviesel Don't know about you but I sure as heck have my Constitutional rights and exercise them daily pal.
Slap Shot? LOL. I can't imagine how much they had to edit that movie to make it appropriate for TV in 1982.
In January of 1981, I was 6 years old, living in Thousand Oaks, California. Still remember some of these ads and the jingles.
03/21/81
Haha! I was 8, living in TO.
I was in the 8th - 9th grade living in Brooklyn in 1982. I remember Eastern airlines. It was one of the major airlines at the time.My family flew Eastern many times. Peter thomas narrated forensic files
Yep..Peter Thomas...a voice that was unique.
Thank you for sharing this
At around 9:45, the Eastern Airlines voice is also the Forensic Files guy!!
Yeah creepy 😬
Peter thomas...
Greatest American Hero, pull yourself together!

19:47 I remember my mom saying that if one of those really fast trains had an accident, the people on board would turn to powder.
I still remember morris the cat's lazy voice.
John Erwin still alive. Did He-Man's voice too.
1982: Fat orange Morris
2020: Fat orange Donald

Gosh i was only a month old on this date.
There were probably 20% less ad breaks back then, than there are now.
I love the 80's
"You can cross your legs in a Nissan Stanza," unless you're over 5'6.
Also, it was pretty rare to see Brooke Shields not garishly dolled up in 1982. And the guy playing her hairdresser looks like the actor who was in the Fox TV Series based on the movie "Alien Nation."
13:42 is Leisel - from the Sound Of Music! ( I think)
Mork& Mindy, Three's Company, Laverne & Shirly, Happy Days, Dynasty, Greatest American Hero, Hart to Hart
Michelle Post I was 20 at this time, can relate!
The Jeep's in the snow and how fast they are driving with kids in the back with no seat belt! 🤪😂😂😂😂😂
Wella Balsam! Wow!
Do they even make that anymore 2020?
I remember The ABC Sunday Night Movie promotion. Usually, the featured movie in that program was very very good.
Brooke Shieldes WELLA sempre linda!
My girlfriend in 1983 used Wella Balsam. And then after the break up I still smelt the Wella Balsam from her hair on my car head rest. :-(
I love watching these old commercials, watching now-obscure companies taking direct aim at companies that are still around today.
Gotta love Morris
three's company always made me laugh still
@Jamie Newman Wow! You attend the tapings?
@Jamie Newman Mr. Fell was nice and had a dry sense of humor. Loved his smile as he looked at the camera
@Jamie Newman I liked John, he was funny, caring, and sensitive. He once said: Who we are is not our bodies, it is who we are in the inside.
@Jamie Newman My pleasure. I remember him, your aunt, and Suzanne Somers autographing Lauri Hendler’s 3’s Company T shirt.

So basically, 1982 was big for imported Japanese cars and shampoos?
Imported Japanese cars were popular since the late 1960s, and shampoos well before that.

The same way that you could get up the World Trade Center for less than $3.
Inflation.
