- This is my full review on the athlon gen 2 Helos scope. I think it is a great entry level prs scope and has lots of value for the money. Nothing negative besides the lack of accessories but it makes up for that by it’s performance. Thanks for watching!

What height rings are you running? Low, medium, high?
I just got a howa mini action and I'm trying to get an idea on what rings to order. Thanks in advance
I’m not 100% sure. They are the rings that brink excursion sent with it when I ordered the scope. I believe they are medium or high. If they are high a medium height would work. The objective would be pretty close to the barrel but I believe that medium would work. The best thing to do would be to see center scope ring height and try to calculate what you need.
Does the zero stop of the Athlon stop at exactly 0 or can you put it like a couple of clicks below?
It will stop where ever you set the ring. I set the ring to stop .5 tenths under zero

Knowing what you know now would you still get the Arkan? I’m torn between this one and the Arken SH4 6-24X50
Man it’s hard to say I would say both are going to get you the same quality. The arken might edge it out in better parts and possibly glass. But as far as production errors and problems that result from mass production I would say arken would probably be better in that sense.

Would you feel comfortable using this scope, glass clarity etc out to 1200 yards?…. 6.5 creedmoor…
The price is good!
I would say this would be the lowest end of scope to use at 1k yards 1200 is pushing it some weather conditions may be pretty trying for it but I would say it can be done.

Reticle usable for hunting at close ranges? Or is it too thin and wash out at lower magnifications?
It’s pretty hard to see under 12-15x I would say. Not washed out just to tiny to see all the numbers and mil marks.
Anyone help me out? I'm torn between this optic and the us optics ts12. One is $500 and illuminated one is $350 and non, but japanese glass..
I looked through a ts12 a guy had on a 22 rimfire at a match was decent glass but the reticle was hard to see on low power. I would feel that the athlon btr gen2 2-12 would serve as a better comparison. Either way both are going to be great and have great warranties. Just going to come down to reticle and personal preference.

nice scope but why would you shoot prs with a 308 when theres soooo many better options like 6mm creedmoore or 6 arc, or even 6.5 cm, I wouldn't be surprised if you one of very few life out there with a 308
Was my beginner rifle for it back in 2019, 2020 I had built and big horn origin action with a dasher barrel and that’s what I’m shooting now. Still use the 308 with 155s for training and is also good recoil management. People forget how to mitigate recoil with the smaller cartridges. Thanks for the comment

Once I get a chance to check I will but it’s an Asian country.
Torn between this scope and the viper pst, i am more concern with the long term reliability of this scope. Anyone have issues long term with this scope.
Havnt heard anything bad so far. I do own a pst Gen 2 but the price difference is significant. Unless you get the vortex closeout (discontinued) reticle it’s pretty cheap right now. The vortex is more clearer for sure. But the locking turrets on the athlon are a plus and it’s got a bit more of adjustment in it due to the 34mm tube.
Why are you running your rings that high?
Was just the rings that brink excursions sent when I ordered the scope. I had originally ordered the athlon rings but they weren’t in full production yet and still on pre order so they swapped them out. No big deal since the stock has a cheek riser.

I.bought this scope last week ..hated it crosshair was way to thin quality of glass not good sent it back 3 guys looked threw it all didn't like it
Strike eagle 10 times better got both
Also 10x heavier
