i agree. I inherited all the "brooms" and "mops" from my mom when i went to college but hated the disposable sets. I started to cut up free tee shirts and just sticking them on instead. good in the middle of the road option. now that Im more of an adult i put the microfiber cloths on there and just wash them

My only concern/confusion with trying to be a conscious consumer yet using a swifter is that using a swifter would mean throwing away those pads- do they sell reusable ones? (Or are they biodegradable? Haven’t checked) instead of using a regular mop to rinse and reuse and not add the landfill waste.

(All About Love: New Visions is a personal favorite of mine). hooks is actually a scholar in my field (english) and I just wanted to share that she goes by "bell hooks" - all lower case. She named herself that after her grandmother who never got to go to school, growing up as an African American in Kentucky. hooks uses lower capitalization to take the ego out of her work and to make the focus on the message. She is an amazing woman, person, and thinker and is one of the most successful and respected scholars who managed to cross the divide between academics and the real world by becoming a cultural figure. She studies love, feminism, race, writing, etc and is just all around incredible. I thought you might be interested in that little bit of info! :) Great video, as always!!

Love watching you do things that work towards a happier mental heath. Especially cleaning & pampering. They are some of my favorites. As a loving suggestion, I recommend you looking into hormonal imbalance. Not to detract for how legitimate depression & anxiety are, but it can be a contributing factor that heightens the effects that isn’t talked about enough. Many things can cause hormonal imbalance that we don’t even know we are doing or have done. I can tell your PMS is significant and it maybe a sign of further imbalances. It’s always good to find out, maybe you’ll find out your fine but if not it maybe a means of even more mental health improvement. 💖
Also, learning about Proctor and Gambles mission against animal testing made me cry. This is HUGE!!! Thanks for sharing, I will absolutely support their brand knowing they care for the animals and the planet.

My favourite GYST helpers are an air dryer and dryer balls! I just love the air drying my clothes to make them last longer and smell nice (and saves energy 💸) and in winter the dryer balls are life saver makes it fluffy, dries faster 💸🔋) and on the woolen ones you can put oils to make it smell nice - rather than using single use dryer sheets 🙌 love the GYST series and all the best for your Eco Journey, Kalyn! 🥰

The little boost I needed after having a HUGE declutter of my shit at mum and dad's house (I'm surrounded by mess omg) also been like a soul declutter? I've let go of like 5 hobbies that I don't have time or energy for and I feel lighter :) In solidarity of you sharing The Deep Stuff: I've also been thinking about my relationship today which is kinda crumbling from lack of repairs and it's just like... "We could be great but you playin" sums it up really well. I've been home for a month cos I needed a break from adulting and I'm going back north this weekend and I'm glad I've had the month off. I miss him but I don't miss living with him/dealing with his very fixable problems. But hey he might very well not have missed me and my shit so I guess we'll find out how that goes... :/

As someone who suffered from an emotional breakdown at the beginning of the year, cleaning was one of the things that helped me feel back in control of my life. I spent all day, everyday tidying, sorting, cleaning a room of my house until I had done the whole thing and my meds had helped me to control my thoughts again. I firmly believe in the adage: tidy life, tidy mind or however that saying goes lol xox

Also, I've heard a lot of bad things happening to pets after they've walked across the floors cleaned with Swiffer and they lick their paws.
I use a O-ceder spray mop and the mop pads go in the wash and are reusable so definitely recommend it .
I have reusable pads for my swiffer!
yes girl sameee I like the Oxo grip cleaner, it has a reusable head and I think its washable or good for several months

No unfortunately they are not degradeable and the wet ones are even worse.
What my mama does is she cuts and uses strips of fabric that can be connected to it that are washable so that you can reuse them over and over.😊
you dont have to be perfect in zero/low waste. you just have to try your best. 💜
My mom made her own reusable wipes and puts them on the swiffer too. They work good.

I've also been thinking about my relationship today which is kinda crumbling from lack of repairs and it's just like... "We could be great but you playin" sums it up really well. I've been home for a month cos I needed a break from adulting and I'm going back north this weekend and I'm glad I've had the month off. I miss him but I don't miss living with him/dealing with his very fixable problems.
But hey he might very well not have missed me and my shit so I guess we'll find out how that goes... :/

As someone who suffered from an emotional breakdown at the beginning of the year, cleaning was one of the things that helped me feel back in control of my life. I spent all day, everyday tidying, sorting, cleaning a room of my house until I had done the whole thing and my meds had helped me to control my thoughts again. I firmly believe in the adage: tidy life, tidy mind or however that saying goes lol xox
