In France, idk if it's just my family being weird, but we have a small tradition of boiling eggs for 3 minutes! No cold bath, because we want them to keep cooking a little. We'd then eat them by opening just the top of each egg, and dipping a small strip of buttered bread in the yolk. It's so good! When there is no yolk left, you'd eat the remaining white with a spoon.
I've seen this depicted in many English children's books, where they have the egg holder and then crack the top of the egg with a spoon. It may be an European custom. Dunno.

A few easy recipes for quick meals! Start a pot of ramen. Put the seasoning pack in before it comes to a boil. Add a handful of frozen mixed veggies per pack when you add the noodles. Scramble 1 egg per pack and drizzle in the pot about 30 seconds before the noodles are done. Finish cooking, and serve. Slice a bagel. Butter both sides. Pull out a bit of lunch meat and a slice of cheese. Scramble an egg. Lightly fry the butter side of BOTTOM half of the bagel until golden brown. Set aside. Drizzle the egg in the pan and fry flat. Flip when egg is no longer runny, and top with cheese. Pull when egg is done. Set on bottom half of bagel. Toss the lunch meat in the pan and heat both sides. Add on top of egg. Repeat browning for top half of bagel. Eat. I'd recommend making 2 for a meal, 'cause they're just that good. If you're pressed for time, just mayo the bagel (or some bread), and skip heating the lunch meat. Make up a pot of Mac&Cheese as you usually would. Add a can of chili. Mix and heat through. 1 cup peanut butter 1 cup white sugar 1 egg Mix thoroughly and spoon small amounts onto baking sheet. Flatten with bottom of glass. Bake at 350°F for 8-12 minutes, depending on how done you like your cookies. If you want to add chocolate, do NOT use chips. Grate a bar of chocolate and add that. Brown a pound of ground beef. Add a full chopped onion and cook until onion is barely soft. Make some instant potatoes while that's cooking. Drain meat/onions and return to pan. Drizzle in some Worcestershire sauce (no more than 1/8th cup). Add a can of cream of mushroom soup. Mix thoroughly until soup is heated through. Layer in a drained can of green beans, and top with the potatoes. Can top with cheese. Serve hot. Can be dished into smaller ovenproof containers and frozen for an easy dinner for busy days. And last but not least... Get yourself a crock pot. You can make practically ANYTHING in those, most of which can be left to cook by itself. Note: do NOT leave your crock pot unattended for longer than 4 hours. If you leave for a 2 hour class and then go back to your home/dorm, that's one thing. But if you are going to be out all day, pick a different meal. This is both to avoid burning your food, and for home safety. Do not use one if the cord is even remotely damaged. Feel free to ping me if you'd like some more recipes! :)
A trick for people, don't put the eggs boiling if you have them in the fridge, they will crack almost instantly, better put them in warm water and then you start boiling, it's more difficult to have a 7 min egg but at least you don't have cracked eggs
Let me add another tip. When boiling, add some salt in the water. It will make eggs float up to surface. This ensures that the eggs will not break due to colliding inside the pan. 🙂
Fyi = ice bath makes the egg stop cooking. So ice bath means +2minutes cooking. Example 8mins.egg with ice bath = 6mins. Without ice bath . The results almost the same
As someone who loves hard boiled egg (I really love the hard boiled white part) and also love a runny yolk, I feel happy. I need to try this! The 6 min one is perfect.
Generally, the easiest is to add the eggs to a pot of cold water from the tap, put it on high heat, boil for a particular amount of time, then turn off the heat and wait for the water to cool (in other words, after you turn off the heat you can go do a lot of other things and come back to it whenever you want). I personally prefer hard-boiled, so 5 minutes once the water starts boiling. I never have an issue peeling and they are always perfect.
My method is similar. Eggs in cold water 1 layer at the bottom of a pot. Bring to a boil, turn off the heat, and wait a certain time depending on how you want your eggs. Yolks get fully cooked without the whites getting rubbery.
Yeah whenever you cool the eggs rapidly after boiled, peeling is not easy at all, especially the layer under the shell gets attached to white and most of the white is in shell only , the egg looks half eaten. SO,TO AVOID THIS!! Let them stay in water and leave it for 3-5mins and then as they're warm peel the shell....eating warm one's will be much tastier!!
The way I make eggs is: Fill the pot halfway with water Put the eggs in before putting on the stove Once it starts boiling, put it on for your prefered time(I usually do 7 but I'm going to try 6 next, also, keep it boiling the whole time Once the eggs are done, put the pot and eggs in the sink and run cold water for 2-3 minutes. Peel the eggs, pit salt, pepper, and yoir prefered spice on I've started a war haven't I :,)
You let the water run for 3 minutes?? That's like wasting a whole 2 GALLONS of water. I just dump out the pot and wait 5 minutes. Then peel them and give them a quick 30 second rinse under cold water. They may be too hot to hold, but once they're in your mouth you won't notice.
@@jermihalia9418 Chill, I've been doing it this way all my life, it's fine, also, I'd prefer to not burn my fingers while I peel them, and I don't wanna wait 5 minutes
After you pour the boiling water over the noodles, crack an egg in the bowl. Spoon the broth over the egg. Eat the noodles first while letting the egg cook. Eat the egg last.
I’ve always eaten hard boiled eggs bc my my parents don’t trust the “cleanliness” of eggs if it’s not boiled enough. So the few times I’ve tried more runny eggs, I can’t get used to the texture and feel like spitting it out 😅
You can also add eggs into cold/room temp water right away and start the timer after water boils. Adding them to colder water will prevent cracking in the pot and make it easier for you to enjoy perfect eggs) also after you do crack the cooked eggs, rolling them on a flat surface while slightly pushing down with your hand before peeling will actually make peeling a breeze even without running cold water
3-4 minutes (eggs in room temp water, start timer when water boils) in a thin-bottomed pot will yield perfect soft-boiled eggs. It is important to, when the timer is done, swiftly remove the pot from the heat, and slowly drain the water from the pot, using a tea towel to hold the lid as to make a gap smaller than the eggs to drain. Fill the pot with cold tap water, assuring that the water level is high enough to mare than cover the eggs completely. After 1-2 minutes, remove the eggs from the water and enjoy
The problem with that method is you introduce a lot of variables. Cold tap water temperature can vary a lot based on the weather, different amounts of water (depending on your pot) will heat up at different rates, your stove type (gas, electric, induction, brand, etc.) will also vary the heat rate.
Yeah were his eggs cold when placed in the boiling water? I start with cold water snd eggs in the pot. Bring to boil. Then turn heat off and wait a bit.. i like them hard boiled
Na the problem with 7 is I know I'm my dumbas brain finna make me imagine im eating some slimy gooey snot 🤢 then the gag reflex kicks in and my appetite is ruined that's why 12 my go to

The most important thing for peeling the egg is for the egg to be not so fresh. If you got fresh eggs from the farm, it will be really hard to peel the shell without the white coming off with it.
Get a teaspoon with the right curve, preferably one wiht a long handle, stab it under the shell and turn the egg until it's off. I peel an egg in under 5 seconds.
When you put them straight from boiling to ice cold water they come off easily. Just make sure its cold cold water, putting a few ice cubes in luke warm wont do it.
I start my eggs in with the water before it starts boiling. It brings the eggs to temperature with the water. After the water starts boiling, I cover & remove from the heat & let it sit in the hot water 8-12 minutes before putting in an ice bath. I’ve only ever been told NOT to put eggs into the water after it’s already boiling. You start the water & eggs at the same temp.
Exactly, I learned this the hard way when I threw my egg into the boiling water and I was aiming for soft-boiled... Well it violently cracked open and I got hard boiled!
Nothing wrong with adding eggs after boiling. If you’re going for soft boiled though it better to add after boiling so the heat cooks the whites quicker. Adding them before just makes them cook slower and more evenly.
Yeah, I think that's only if the eggs are really cold when going in boiling water because they tend to crack. Just like glass when you rapidly change temps.
I think it may be how high you set the eggs to boil (how high the fire is (I’m assuming you use a stove to boil your eggs) try to lower how high it is to where your results are like his (I’m no expert at cooking and am very bad at it so don’t attack me if I’m wrong)
@@Kurd143 that's the best thing. You don't... Cook it however long you want to! Have it hard and rubbery if you like. I prefer it to have a somewhat runny yolk. You might not. That's the amazing thing though you can cook your food however you want to! Interesting isn't it?

If you don’t want to get a whole ice bath ready: just get them out of the water and under the faucet turned to cold for a few seconds, works just as well
@@davidbanner9851 yeah, but having ice at the ready isn’t a given in every household, and if you make your own instead of buying bagged cubes, you will need to remove them all from the forms and refill them for the next time. Just a wast of work and time when your faucet is right there.
@@davidbanner9851 Ah, I forgot about the fact that other people may have bagged ice just like you seemed to have forgotten that others might not. I don’t think it’s lack of expertise for either of us, just one of those mundane little moments where we got caught in our own experiences 😃
I feel like no one does this, but this is a far simpler method to cool off the eggs Take the pot into the sink and run cold water through it for like 2+ minutes. And yes it’s meant to overflow, that’s why it’s in the sink. Then just take them out and that’s it
Here's a tip for peeling if you have trouble with getting the shell off of the egg. Before you boil them tap the bottom of the egg with a spoon until it makes a popping noise. Don't break the egg, do not hold the spoon loosely either (you won't be able to control the force as well and will break the egg. Then boil them normally and afterwards they should peel easier. Hope this helps.
before you put the eggs in boiling water, puncture the bottom with a needle. that's a lot better. because the egg have air pocket on the bottom side that will ruin the position of the yolk when you're not pop it before you boil it.

I’ve always eaten hard boiled eggs bc my my parents don’t trust the “cleanliness” of eggs if it’s not boiled enough. So the few times I’ve tried more runny eggs, I can’t get used to the texture and feel like spitting it out 😅
Me too

You can also add eggs into cold/room temp water right away and start the timer after water boils. Adding them to colder water will prevent cracking in the pot and make it easier for you to enjoy perfect eggs) also after you do crack the cooked eggs, rolling them on a flat surface while slightly pushing down with your hand before peeling will actually make peeling a breeze even without running cold water
you can also set it softly in the pot.
i was looking for this comment. ty!

Remember that the Lord Jesus Christ died on a cross for you because He loves you so much. He then rose up from the dead three days later
The Ten Commandments are called the moral law, (most of us are lying thieving blasphemous adulterer at heart and deserve hell) you and I broke the law, Jesus paid the fine. That’s what happened on that cross.
By believing that Jesus died on the cross and rose up from the dead 3 days later and not just confessing your sin, but also repenting of all sin you have done and putting all your trust in Him in prayer, He will grant you everlasting life as a free Gift.

Is it just me or did that ice look so good and surprisingly delicious
Its also important to have the egg size in consideration, the smallest the less time it needs to cook
🥚
So an ostrich egg is about an hour boiling time.
Got it.
Make sure to salt your water when you boil since it helps break down the protein connecting the shell to the egg whites, making peeling a lot easier

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO PEELS THEM BY COMPLETELY CRACKING ALL SIDES FIRST
I start my eggs in with the water before it starts boiling.
It’s fine to put it in boiling water as long as the eggs aren’t super cold. Makes it way easier to control the consistency
Serious Eats tested it and found that starting in cold water causes it to more frequently stick the to shells and be harder to peel.
Whenever I make boiled eggs, it completely hardens at 8 minutes 💀
Try different timing’s to figure out which time is perfect 👍🏽
For me it takes 5 mins to get the perfect boiled egg.
Same thing happens with me
I think it may be how high you set the eggs to boil (how high the fire is (I’m assuming you use a stove to boil your eggs) try to lower how high it is to where your results are like his (I’m no expert at cooking and am very bad at it so don’t attack me if I’m wrong)
Could be difference in stoves and what not. Also possibly not putting it in ice so cooking still continues. Idk tho
I always love 6 mins. So great with mama instant noodles every time.
Thank you a lot man, this helped me a lot!
6-6.5 minutes has always been my go to. Nothing beats a runny yolk especially if your adding it to ramen. Just adds so much depth.
If I'm eating an egg why does it have to be a liquid
@@Kurd143 that's the best thing. You don't... Cook it however long you want to! Have it hard and rubbery if you like. I prefer it to have a somewhat runny yolk. You might not. That's the amazing thing though you can cook your food however you want to! Interesting isn't it?

If you don’t want to get a whole ice bath ready: just get them out of the water and under the faucet turned to cold for a few seconds, works just as well
Yeah this is way too much effort lol. Also peeling them under a stream of water? What? Just peel em dude it's not difficult lol
Not that throwing some water and ice into a bowl is THAT excruciatingly difficult😅
@@davidbanner9851 yeah, but having ice at the ready isn’t a given in every household, and if you make your own instead of buying bagged cubes, you will need to remove them all from the forms and refill them for the next time. Just a wast of work and time when your faucet is right there.

WHY DID YOU PUT THE EGG IN A MICROWAVE
I’ve still gotta master magically getting the water to a boil
I feel like no one does this, but this is a far simpler method to cool off the eggs
Take the pot into the sink and run cold water through it for like 2+ minutes. And yes it’s meant to overflow, that’s why it’s in the sink. Then just take them out and that’s it
Now THIS is what I needed

Here's a tip for peeling if you have trouble with getting the shell off of the egg. Before you boil them tap the bottom of the egg with a spoon until it makes a popping noise. Don't break the egg, do not hold the spoon loosely either (you won't be able to control the force as well and will break the egg. Then boil them normally and afterwards they should peel easier. Hope this helps.
before you put the eggs in boiling water, puncture the bottom with a needle. that's a lot better. because the egg have air pocket on the bottom side that will ruin the position of the yolk when you're not pop it before you boil it.
I tried this and could never get a popping sound without it turning out to actually be a small crack in the egg
Thanks
