A muskrat was designed and sold with 2 equal blades so as you use one and it gets dull you can switch over to the other blade without having to pause for sharpening.
How is it a fair comparison of quality if you don't actually use the Sodbuster? Knives need use stories. I really like my Imperial IMP22L. Got it for under $7. China or not, compared to $40 for a Sodbuster? Yeah, easy choice for what the design offers and Amazon buyers only give 68% approval on the Sodbuster synthetic handle. 72% on the Yellow Imperial.
I got an older model one that has seen better days, both are good, I got a good deal on the new one from the store. The China made IMP22L is one of my daily carries. I like it but the video was just showing a comparison and how others seem to bash different brands. I enjoy all the feedback and thanks for subscribing 🇺🇸🫡
Nice Imperial. The origin of a knife doesn’t matter to me. What matters to me is the quality of the knife. ALL knives sold in the USA support USA jobs and I’m all for that. To each his own. New sub. Look forward to seeing more. I love seeing old knives brought back to life. Each one has a story and that’s what cool about them.
Yelp for sure , everyone has a budget I surely understand that. The goal is to support USA knives only if possible. The imperial works fine. And I use it all the time. My case one will just be a carry sometimes and more as safe keeping. Since I only have one. If I find another one that is used I will carry it. Thanks for watching our videos .
H is August, A is Jan, B is Feb, and so on. BTW, the two clip point blade is the "Muskrat" pattern, for skinning small game, two identical blades in case one gets dull you just go to blade number 2.
Chinese govt sucks. Western companies sending work there sucks. A lot of mass produced crap comes from china. Chinese labour practices can suck. But, that doesn’t mean there aren’t skilled craftsmen there. Guess it all comes down to how you look at it. Enjoyed the video. Cheers
to avoid linseed oil combustion, leave the rag you used laying flat to dry. don't wad them up and throw them in a trash can. what can cause combustion to happen is having a bunch loosely wadded rags in a confined area. At a point it produces enough heat to combust.
Comes down to personal preference I would say brother. I prefer the Case myself, but I’ve seen several china made knives that have an excellent fit and finish, and are of a good quality. I think the muskrat was meant as a skinner so that if you dulled one blade, you had another skinner to use. Thanks for the video, and God bless
Yeah I feel like China is trying to put Case out of business with the Rough Rider series. Even knife people are buying them. 🤷♂️. Yelp it’s a preference for sure
I would close the blade, if the blade is above the handle, then mark where the blade would be below. Then if needed take a little off the top as well so you do not have to file the “KICK”

Same holds true for a congress

That knife is for skinning
They do that very well
I have the Imperial and like it quite a bit. I haven’t tried a synthetic case yet.
What was the price difference?
15$
I meant CS and not CV 😮
