Great video!!! I was using the large TV as a monitor for awhile. Found it bothered my eyes and neck. So now I use a 49" main and use the TV as a side monitor on stocks I'm watching. Works great that way having a lot of charts up at one time. I'm running a 5800x w/ 6600xt. Pushes everything fine. Keep the awesome content coming!!! 👏

Thanks for this guide! I've finally switched from my 4x28" setup to one 55 TV (the hisense you recommended). I knew it was possible but wasn't sure how, and luckily this first result on youtube made me finally go ahead and do it. One thing I wasn't sure of in watching, though, can I use the ultraview software with just one HDMI? Or do I need to get three of those displayport adapters to a) make it work or b) improve performance?

Your video is one of the clearest and most informative videos on this topic I have seen yet, so many thanks for that. I do have a couple of questions if you find the time to reply.
1) does this setup meaningfully slow down your Internet broadband speeds? In one video I watched the narrator claimed 500Mbps both up and down before conversion to the TV but I watched his speed test wherein his download speed declined to something around 15Mbps!
2) Does this setup increase the input latency from your mouse or keyboard?
3) My last concern is the viewing distance from such a big TV. My trading desk is just 29" deep. Plan A would be to perhaps insert a console table (64" long x 12" deep) between the wall and my trading desk (though I don't yet know if 12" is deep enough to fully support the desktop stand you referenced once the TV is on it. Failing that, I suppose I could just wall-mount the TV and pull my desk back from that wall an appropriate distance to solve the problem.

1. No, using the tv is completely unrelated to my internet connection. The tvs are not even connected to wifi and have zero effect on internet speed.
I pay for 1Gbps and get more than that on my pc with the tvs connected. There is simply no mechanism for them to affect my internet speed.
2. There is zero perceived latency. It is the exact same as my 27” monitor I have mounted above. The TVs are 60hz and so is the monitor. I also don’t notice any difference in latency with charts etc. The latency may be slightly more than my monitor, but not enough for me to notice even side by side.
3. As for viewing distance, my desk is about 30” deep and I have the tv stands at the back of the desk - the same distance I would sit from a monitor. There is no more eye strain than using monitors, a bit less in my experience actually since the blacks are fully black. I don’t have any need to sit further back than I would to a regular monitor, because when split into 4X 1080 screens, the physical size of text and windows on the screen is the same as it is on a regular 27” monitor. It’s just like 4 of them together without bezels.

When using Ultraview Desktop to split up your 55" screen for charting:
...if you for example divide up the screen to 3 equal divisions on top and 3 equal divisions on the bottom half of the screen, with 3-4 charts in each division,
how do you get Tradingview to automatically populate each screen division with your favorite charts?
...At pc startup, Do you have to manually load a Tradingview session for each of the 6 divided screens and then manually reload all your favorite charts, or will Ultradesk View autoload TradingView with all your prior loaded charts everytime you restart your pc?

It will not auto load my specific tradingview layouts in each window as tradingview is web based and bound to the settings in my browser. Each of my 8-chart layouts is saved on tradingview and follows me wherever I login.
The way I handle populating the windows is this:
I set my homepage on chrome to open my tradingview ES chart in two identical tabs. I open several instances of chrome and drag them to every second window. Then drag the second tab in each to the empty window next to it. Then I have to load the layout I want in that particular window but it’s only one click. I open my charts up on Sunday night and leave them up all week and put my computer into sleep mode so they stay there. I actually turn it off on the weekend. Still it takes less than a minute to open up all my windows this way so it’s not too bad.

Hi Day Trader, I have a TCL 4k 144hz Native TV, 55 inch, when I connect it to my GPU also 4k (7900xtx Sapphire Nitro +) and when I get display it detects the TV's resolution as 1080p not 4k at all, I do how ever have the option to choose 4k resolution in the resolution menu in windows, it does change it to 4k (Up scaled not Native) and I can run at 144hz at 4k but not native, I have bought 3 certified 4k 48gb HDMI 2.1, still same 1080p Native.. Ive used the AMD software for my GPU to do custom resolutions but even like that still not native... This TV has 2 labeled 4k 144hz ports and 2 4k 60hz. Weird thing is on the 2 4k 144hz ports both windows detects them as 1080p resolution, when I connect it on the 4k 60hz ports, windows does indeed detect the TV as 4k 60hz... Weird right? So I reached out to TCL, after a stressful back and forth and showing proof of the issues on the TV, they finally sent a tech to replace parts on my TV... I was so excited to finally be able to see true 4k 120hz-144hz on my TV, well nope, still same issue on both, and fine on the 4k 60hz ones... Also the TV did get a new firmware update and nothing fixed the issue.. Any Idea what could be my issue?
Great info..! I just got a 2nd computer set up with 4 - 32" 4k monitors. I'm having trouble in trading view when I open a chart and want to assign a color to a line the COLOR PALETTE is completely BLACK.. There are no colors there at all. Wonder if its a video card (Radeon 1650 dual) problem or something like that. Trading View does look rather dark, even around the borders where the tool icons are, very dark to see the tools very easy.
I have my 1st computer going also with 4 - 27" 1080p monitors and it is just fine.
Thought you may have knowledge of this. Put in a worknticket with Trading View, they said to open TV in Chrome browser, but I am using the desktop version, not in a browser.

Question my friend, since you use trading view: does one TV handle the 8 chart horizontal layout option with trading view? (Two vertical, 4 charts horizontal covering entire screen) or does the chart quality go down once magnified?
It will scale it to whatever resolution your display is set to, so it’s the same clarity, price text stays the same size etc
'Most' smart TVs should identify a PC as an HDMI or DP input natively this Samsung AU9000 works seamlessly connected to an ASUS Zenbook pro 2 and give three screens for Sound Post Production for TV.
Hi Matt, nice video with lots of details - thanks for that. There's one thing I don't get. Seeing how you make 2-3k $ on a good day, I don't quite get why it's so important to get a good deal on a computer that will work for a few years. My philosophy is, I should not save on tools that I need to do the job especially if these tools are durable.

Well there’s two parts to that really. Firstly the computer i use is WAY more than enough for trading and handles video editing quite well, and my previous one lasted me probably 8 years and was still running great, my son is still using as a gaming rig now. it would still have been plenty good if it weren’t for me just feeling like splurging on a new system last year, and a little better video card for editing. If I felt I needed more, I’d get a more expensive system, but I just don’t.
I have a lingering itch to actually build a system from scratch just for fun, but when I price it out it just seems like a waste. If I end up doing it, it will be for the experience, not the need for more power or reliability.
Secondly, a dollar saved is not a dollar earned but more like two, because of taxation. I try to get a good deal on absolutely everything, always have.

@@DTND all good points! Couldn't agree more about dollars saved and taxation. Canada as far as I can tell is a lot like Western Europe in that regard, i.e. not for the faint of heart.
I respect that you can stop yourself from going overboard and that you know your needs. I sometimes like to indulge myself with higher end hardware. I guess it's partly compensation for years of living in relative poverty.
Recently I've been doing a lot of backtesting using big data databases and tick data I get from SierraChart and I have to say that changed my view on what I need - disk space and RAM needs are much higher in that scenario.

@@DTND Goes hand in hand with how you manage your risk while trading... Dude is never trying to give money away easily... Make it easily (hopefully), but don't spend it easily. Makes sense to me. However, I bet if you were single no kids no other toys no dogs no wife... you'd go over board on this stuff 😂... at least that's my plan.
In simple terms would you mind explaining the difference between the two PC’s you recommended in your Amazon link? I’m interested but can’t tell what one PC has above the other? Performance difference? Benefits? Drawbacks? A bit of a novice with PC’s, thank you for your time...
Hey Tanner, The newer one is just that, newer, and also a brand new pc. The i7 4770 system is refurbished, and much cheaper. The performance difference is not a lot, though the new pc is better, but the difference is completely negligible for the purposes of trading or office work.
My last trading pc was refurbished when I bought it (similar HP elite desk) and my son is still using it. While refurbished, the components are very solid and the cpu cooler is more robust - they were meant to be run 24/7 for years, we’ve had it almost 10 years and still going strong. I had to replace the ram once but that’s it.
Either one is a good choice for a trading pc, and both can fit a full sized graphics card.

I have a company-issued Dell Latitude 5590 laptop (with insufficient onboard graphics from an Intel UHD 620) and I'd like to be able to drive one Hisense 50U6HF. What are my options for upgrading graphics without cracking open the laptop? If any exist... something from Plugable, maybe?

Realistically probably not many options without cracking open the case, but it can output to a second screen at least. a large 1080 monitor 27-32 would still give you a lot of real estate and be easy to read. My screens have the same pixel size as a 27” 1080 screen.

@@lucas1.618 the pixel density on the 55” 4K TV is almost identical in physical size to a 27” 1080 monitor, as it is 2X the diagonal in size and approx 4X the screen area/4X the pixels.
@@DTND thanks for the answer! So if you're looking for detail and pixel density perhaps a 1440 p monitor would be better than a 4k tv? Or would a smaller size 4k tv "42inch have higher pixel density?

how about the eye strain / headaches 60hz vs 120hz / I've also heard the 42/43 in was a better size to get so you don't have to sit way back.
I find less eye strain with the TVs than I did with the monitors, I think primarily because the blacks are darker on the tv. I set everything to black background also. I’m currently using 50” TVs at arms length and find it to be a sweet spot from that distance. Noticeably sharper than the 55s were. 43 could work too, you can always resize the text
If you would by a new TV again, what would be your recommendation. Would you go with 55" again or do you think 50" will suffice. How about 43"?
Funny you should ask that… I have a pair of 50”TVs still in boxes that I’m about to try out. Video will be coming about that.
For me, 43 would be too small for what I’m used to and how I have things set up. I’m hoping 50 will be the sweet spot, sharp, big enough to read at 100% and will make my single 27 editing monitor mounted above seem larger etc.
Did you have to replace the power supply in your pc to carry the dedicated gpu?
Hey Paul, no the stock psu will power the 1050ti or 1650. They take only PCI power so no additional cable needed.
Is this a decent budget desktop . It was recommended with the one on your Amazon list , elitedesk 800 g3 32gb 1tb ssd . Will it accept the upgraded video card you mentioned?
What processor is it? You didn’t mention that. The 1TB SSD and 32GB RAM is great though.
Looked at the g3 and it looks like it will support a SFF (small form factor) graphics card. They make a 1050ti in small form factor but that is pretty much the only option. The 800 g1 in my Amazon list will fit a full size graphics card which gives you a lot more options and at less cost.

I decided to go with the G1 i7 4770 ,32gb Ram , 1 TB SSD , and Windows 10 Pro . It was 170 bucks . I am casting onto the new Hisense 55 inch Mini LED ULED tv ( newer model of your recommendation) . Will I need to upgrade the GPU ? Which Low Profile one do you suggest ? Thanks for all the help

The gtx 1050 is hard to find and just as expensive as a gtx1650 . Should I go with a gtx 1650 or is a gtx1030 sufficient enough ? Thanks for the help
I would go with a 1650 if it’s doable, or is a significantly more powerful card.
i have a question, the 1050 ti only has one display port but I need two monitors? do I then get an active display port to HDMI splitter if i want two main screens?
It depends on the type of inputs your display accepts. If you’re using hdmi displays, you need an active DP to HDMI adapter to convert the DP out from the GPU to HDMI, and just an HDMI cable for the HDMI output to HDMI in on the monitor.
I’m talking about using one GPU output per display. I’m not sure of support for DP daisy chaining on this card and not all monitors support it either.
@@DTND I basically purchased everything on your budget pc build from Amazon. I am just confused as to how to connect it if there are two monitors. One DP to hdmi adapter and then I connect and hdmi cable into that and into one monitor. ( this will be the main monitor). For the other monitor, I connect an hdmi cable into the 1050 ti card and the other end of the cable to the second monitor?

Yes that’s correct.
Plug the DP end of the adapter into the DP out of the GPU. Then you effectively have 2x hdmi outputs from your gpu. Plug an hdmi cord into each of them and out to each monitor.
@@DTND also do you have the link to which RAM you used to update the SFF? I went to Best Buy and they kind told me stories that went in circles. I want to try to install the RAM and card myself but I am not tech savvy? Do you have any good videos on it? And how to prevent static?
I got a 65 inch TV, and realized the response time is too slow for charting.
A 50 inch 4K TV has a dpi of around 85, which is way too low if you are using it for "office work".
And since he is using a TV - which is made for watching movies and shows - the controller has low refresh rate and especially a high latency. Since they often use VA technology - even for "qled" or "oled" - it is unsuitable for viewing from close distance and use it for office work.
My reco: instead buy two 27 inch 4k IPS screens. They are cheap, have better screen latency and are made for closeby viewing.

I appreciate your point of view, but you clearly have never tried this type of setup.
A number of potential issues you mention were concerns of mine when I was deciding whether or not to try a setup like this, so I’ll provide my experiences below after using this daily for a few years now, for those who are trying to make their own decision.
The DPI is the same as a 27” 1080 monitor which is plenty for doing office work in my opinion. It’s the same as my previous 27” 1080 monitors, which is all any of us had until a few years ago. At 2 feet away or more, 1080 is fine for a 27” 1080, though I wouldn’t want to go larger at that distance. My head is approx 30” from my screens.
I have one 27” 4k IPS monitor I use for video editing which is mounted above the tvs facing down ar me but at a similar distance, and the 4k resolution on a 27” screen is completely wasted on my eyes at that distance. I do wear glasses but am 20/20 with them.
I would not be able to do regular office work on the 27” 4k monitor without increasing the zoom to 300% match the window size to the big screens (which I’ve done.) This completely negates the whole point of having more usable screen real estate, when you have to zoom everything back to a similar size. In order to get the extra real estate, the text is too small to read at this distance. I have to put my nose within 18” of the screens to clearly tell the difference in resolution. Using 8k of gpu power on two 27” 4k screens at 30” distance would be a huge waste of GPU resources, IF your aim is to maximize window real estate. If the monitors were only a foot away from my head, that would be a different story.
People always seem to worry about the latency, as was I. In practice though, the difference in latency is completely imperceptible between the TVs and the 4k monitor above, keeping in mind I’m using this for an office machine and am not gaming.
The eye fatigue was probably the biggest concern I had. It turned out to be noticeably LESS than my previous 6x27 array was. The viewing angle on these particular TVs has been a non issue.
To each their own of course, but In practice, I’ve yet to find a single negative vs monitors, other than having to turn them on and off each time, for my particular use case.
I'm currently using 4 27" monitors and thinking about adding a TV 43" to my array, I could split the screen or use multiple desktops, I'm using a Nvidia Quadro M2000 4GB GDDR5 Graphics Card, thinking I might need to upgrade my video card
If you’re committed to adding the monitor regardless if it means upgrading your card or not, I would give it a try with your Quadro as long as it supports enough outputs. I ran 2x 4k screens - same equivalent of pixels on a 4GB nvidia card without issue. I have a 1660 super now but am running 3x 4K screens on it as I changed my top monitor from a 1080 to 4k (it’s just a 27 colour accurate monitor).

For 1 or 2 1080p monitors it’s fine, but not for 4k.
Monitors and tvs are not the same even the text is not great on tv sets like you said tho if you dont need great then a tv can work

Yes they are different, though the text is every bit as sharp on these TVs as it is on my 27” 1080 monitors I was using. I had one of them above the TVs for a while for comparison and there was no perceivable difference even up close. It was a “run of the mill” monitor though, not a high end one.
For professional graphic design or video work, one would want a monitor. For a workstation for trading and general tasks though, I can’t see ever going back to monitors.
microsoft power toys lets you divide you screen up and the cost is 0
Yes, it's called Fancy Zones and it does everything described about the paid software.
i am using my 1080p tv as a moniter bye playing roblox only and google pictures the only thing moniters have unlike tvs is better color and better speed high refresh rates
