Until Hurts admits that he needs to look deep inside himself to understand why he is turning the ball over, he will continue to, well, turn it over. Keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result is insane. I think a very smart guy said that once. I get the feeling he is just accepting those turnovers as long as he “makes up for them” or they eke out a win. Maybe he thinks he needs to accept those turnovers because it is part of his “style” of playing. I actually think he sometimes panics and shuts off his logical thinking. To fix it, he first needs to understand he is panicking in those situations. Can’t solve the problem without first acknowledging it exists. I love our birds but I have watched the hit on Smitty in all honesty it wasn't dirty. The refs didn't blow the wissle. He hit him in the back and Smittys helmet popped off. As a former Football player we are always taught play through the wissle peroid. It looked dirty in real time but it was a clean hit and the player was just doing what he had been taught since little league. This is on the Refs if anyone

2nd, The refs not stopping play by blowing whistle, 6 yards backwards, on Smittys complete pass, was driven back 6 yds which gave a linemen 300+ lbs at full speed to drill a helpless 175 lb receiver in his head & shoulder area enough to pop his chinstrapped helmet off, no flag, & knocked him unconscious & then without any regards for the safety & wellbeing of a fellow football player is beyond down right appalling Philly Mike!!!!!!? Aren't those refs in the booth there to one, for protection of players at all cost & 2, preserve the integrity of the game of football itself as a whole!!??? Where has this game gone to Philly Mike? A bunch of booth analysts not knowing when enough is enough!!!!! If just one of those refs upstairs had a relative as wr & got hit so dirty, they would have moved mountains to make sure whoever involved pays the ultimate price, meaning the field refs not blowing whistle long before the hit & for the fury of a 300+ linemen targeting a defenseless player. Until Hurts admits that he needs to look deep inside himself to understand why he is turning the ball over, he will continue to, well, turn it over. Keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result is insane. I think a very smart guy said that once. I get the feeling he is just accepting those turnovers as long as he “makes up for them” or they eke out a win. Maybe he thinks he needs to accept those turnovers because it is part of his “style” of playing.
I actually think he sometimes panics and shuts off his logical thinking. To fix it, he first needs to understand he is panicking in those situations. Can’t solve the problem without first acknowledging it exists.
He was better this week in trusting in his O Line and staying in the pocket rather than running out as soon as he feels some pressure. I bet he finally accepted the coaching and accepted that he has been “escaping” too often and too soon.
