    Fascinating to watch, a rare glimpse into a legendary company. I’ve owned and serviced Toro mowers since the old Whirlwind days, nothing like them out there. The Personal Pace drive system is a true flash of genius, I see other manufacturers trying to copy it without infringing on Toro patents but they fall far short. Currently have two SR4’s and a Time Master and I love ‘em!

    We have two 328D Toros with Kubota diesel engines. What a fine machine, especially with a Flail on the front that Toro sourced from Hughson, California near me. Keep building these in the USA and don't sell out to the soulless corporate raiders

    Seeing them test for the mowers emissions is great. Although it's a tiny engine it does still pollute and thought and care put into helping reduce those emissions is important.

    i have a toro 22" recycler, with the briggs & stratton engine, that i've had since 2009. to this day, 1 pull and it starts right up. MAYBE 2 pulls after sitting in storage for a couple months during winter. i keep non-ethanol gas in it, i keep the oil changed, i keep the filter clean, and i keep the blade sharp. it has been far and away the best mower i've ever owned. and when it comes time, i'll buy another one.

    I just bought one of these mowers and I love it! It has The Toro TXP 159 cc engine which I hear is a chinese copy of a honda engine but with some upgrades by the Toro engineers that actually make the engine more durable then it's honda counterpart. A cast iron sleeve (vs aluminum bore) and ball bearings on the camshaft (vs aluminum bushings) on the honda. In the video you see all Americans working in the plant but the label on the box of my mower said the country of origin was mexico! Just say'n.
    Still I believe this is a high quality mower that should give me years of reliable service. That's why I bought it.

    I have had my Toro super recycler with the aluminum deck for 4 years. I can honestly say it is far superior to the Honda HRB that it replaced. I would give the Honda engine a slight advantage over the Briggs but it stops there. The transmission on the Honda seized and the dealer wanted $400 to fix it while informing me it was a common issue. The Honda was heavier and bogged down in wet conditions. The personal pace allows you to go a slower in over grown conditions. The twin blades on the Honda needed constant sharpening and even so I would give the Toro higher marks for the quality of cut which is what really matters. The icing on the cake is the Toro is less expensive.

    As a small engine mechanic . ive worked on both Honda and Toro , I find the Toro to be mush ezer to repair than the convoluted design Honda has . but i will say this about the Honda motors they are Cheaper to repair than Briggs and stratton motor .

    I am have a grass cutting business. I have a lot of ideas on how to improve the mower. My 30 inch toro can't cut tall grass so as a solution they should make both shoots much bigger. Thats way the grass escapes easily.

  • @billbright1755

    Toro bought out lawn boy years ago. Their pretty much green Toros now.
    America has millions of lawns, and they all need mowing.
    If people have the lest bit of trouble with their mowers they go buy a new mower.
    Steel stamped decks really have no down side. Better blade designs is the stuff.

    • @alexhickey5633

      Ive seen many steel decks to plain rot out after 5 years. I have 3 mowers, all aluminium decks. A 1986 countax sabre 19, a 1990 mountfield 18 mirage (1100 to 1300 hours on it) and a warrior 22 inch that i bought at the end of 2019, its basically a DR sp22 with a better engine. 34 and 30 years out of aluminium decks is a very good thing. Both still solid btw because i clean them after every cut

    They have a major pinion and wheel drive issue , starts to grind due to lack of contact overlap of gears. Wheel is plastic gear and axle has to much side to side play this reduces gear overlap

    I have been in the business mowing lawns almost 60 years. My two top choices are the good old snappers and second choice is the Honda mowers. The toro does not even come into the game plan. The reason they dont is because TORO does not stand behind there products. Its as simple as that so to me they are junk.

  • @Rick-vd9os
    @Rick-vd9os Год назад

    Toro cheaped out on the components on their consumer lawnmowers in 2008. Plastic gears in the wheels and junk kohler engines. Toro mowers do nothing but stall. I hope Toro goes out of business.

  • @Rick-vd9os
    @Rick-vd9os Год назад

    The most lousy lawnmower our family has ever purchased. Got a Toro Recycler in 2010 brand new and had nothing but problems, even after checking the filter, checking and replacing the oil, changing the blade. All it did was bog down and stall and leave clumps of grass. It guzzled gas like no tomorrow and blew the exhaust in the face of the person using the mower. Lousy engineering. Poor quality. It would not cut through tall wet grass without stalling and both of our craftsman mowers could do that no problem whatsoever.😂 I would rather have one of the original Toro mowers
